Well I am very happy to put an update on the problem that I was having this past year with Trugreen from Danbury. Justin which is the person that had replaced useless Rob's job has come through with all his promises. I know I was quite harsh in my last review but at the time I felt it was well deserved. I do have to say after sometime and many conversations Justin came through and did rectify the problem.I have a little green growing finally and hoping that TRUGREEN can continue to bring it back to the previous condition. THANK YOU JUSTIN! read more

I paid TruGreen Danbury for the entire year up front, and once they had my money, getting help, answers, call backs, resolution, or accountability became an absolute nightmare. Trying to reach corporate is nearly impossible. Every time I attempted to contact corporate, I was redirected right back to my "local branch" -- the very branch that has shown no regard for my concerns. I called customer care multiple times asking for a corporate contact for a formal grievance, and I was told they do not have a corporate number to provide. Instead, they kept leaving notes for a manager to call me back. After multiple attempts, I received one phone call from someone named Mike. He left a message asking me to call him back. I did. In fact, I called him back 4-5 times and left 2-3 messages. Still, no response. It has been well over 48 hours since my last call and over a week since my first attempt to reach him. If you count all the times I reached out to customer care before that, this has been going on for several weeks. This branch canceled services without giving us any clear reason. They canceled two services last year that still have not been made up, and now it is 2026. They were supposed to aerate my yard, but it was obvious the work was incomplete. You can clearly see where aeration was done and where it was not, because the holes and machine trails are easy to distinguish. Despite my conversation with customer care explaining that the aeration was not completed, TruGreen still came out and fertilized the lawn. As a result, I have little confidence that the fertilizer will be effective, and I expect much of it will simply wash away. They have texted me scheduled service dates and then failed to show up without a call. My lawn has not improved at all. The most disturbing part is that for a full year of paid service, I have only spoken to one actual service person. No one has explained what is being done, what I should be doing, or how we can work together to improve the lawn. No one from the local branch has properly addressed the cancellations, the incomplete aeration, the missed services, or my concerns. Customer care told me the branch claimed they tried to reach me. But isn't that exactly what they are supposed to do? If customer service actually mattered, they would continue reaching out until they spoke with the customer, especially when that customer has already paid in full. I called the number provided, 203-501-8175, several times and left multiple messages with no response for over a week. I should not have to jump through hoops to receive services I already paid for. I should not have to chase down managers, beg for call backs, or fight to have missed and incomplete services corrected. TruGreen Danbury still owes me two visits and a complete aeration. At this point, it feels like once they got paid, my concerns no longer mattered. This has been frustrating, disappointing, and completely unacceptable on every level. I will say I gave enough time as well before I wrote this review. I was hoping I could speak with the manager or someone. All things considered, here is my TruReview! read more

Wow - seems to be a common theme here with TruGreen (Danbury), here is my story: 3rd time is NOT a charm - I purchased the Aeration & Over-seeding package a few weeks ago with some hesitancy after an aggressive sales pitch with the understanding to be done on a certain date and time with an advanced three week notice. I was assured it was on the calendar and they would be there. Before I could hang up the phone, the credit card that was on file was swiped and billed: 1) 3 weeks later they showed up at 5:30PM far from the 10AM window as agreed to. They could not finish the job properly because they only had an oversize aerator that could not squeeze into some narrow grass areas, they said they would come back with a smaller aerator 2) Another tech came back not with an aerator but with a rolling thatcher and said the holes would just be smaller "you'll be fine". Needless to say, I told him to leave and come back with aerator that is in scope with what I paid for. 3) Another tech came back with a smaller aerator that was heavier and then had the audacity to lift, drag, scrape and damage my front flagstone steps to get to the area he needed to access - not bothering to look 100 ft away, there was an alternative gate for an easier entry to the grass area - plus he did an incomplete job there too. By the way, all of this caught on my Ring Camera. In summary, TruGreen (Danbury) your services for Aerator & Over-seeding fell far short of meeting expectations. Prior to this review, I called several times to your Customer Service portal only to encounter virtual assistants, AI chat bots, and customer representatives reading off of scripts . Lets see if a proper restitution is made for my damaged flagstone steps as a results of this shoddy service. Waiting to hear back... read more

I received a call from Lauren this morning in response to my concern about two visits in 9 days. No door tag was left on the second visit and I wanted to make sure I wasn't paying to damage my lawn with excess fertilizer. She launched into a rapid monologue, never understood what I needed to know and hung up on me when I asked her to stop talking over me. Terminated my service. The communication at the national call center is all over the place. 1/2 the time it's professional, 1/2 the time you're talking to an idiot. read more

Like others if I could give it no stars I would maybe minus stars! They only care for one thing....reeling people in for the horrible customer service all they care about is selling and my lawn has made absolutely zero improvement and still have weeds. Last week they came to aerate my lawn (which I never signed up for) the "guy" started aerating with never marking my inground sprinkler system, I had to have my neighbor stop him but this was after pulling up wads of grass and leaving bare spots. I have contacted customer service 4-5 times with zero response. read more

A SHAMEFUL company. Use them if you wish to rip your money in half and ruin your lawn. They took my 82 year old, Parkinson's suffering, Vietnam veteran father's money AND ruined his lawn over in Brewster NY. Whatever they did literally burned lines all over his 1 acre property and when he actually asked if they would be accountable - they said they'd fix it (and did nothing of the sort). We have the photos to prove it and yet, they have NO INTEGRITY and no interest in making it right. Dad is old school and would never complain - but it has literally ruined a perfectly good lawn - so he actually cancelled the service out of frustration (a big step for someone old school). IF YOU WORK THERE IN MANAGEMENT AND ALLOW THIS TYPE OF THING TO HAPPEN (fleecing older folks out of their money with zero accountabilty) you should be ASHAMED. It makes me want to sue - as it really decreases the value of his home if / when he sells it to have what looks like a distressed or "sick" lawn. Like others have said, they DO NOT CARE. Prove me wrong! I dare you to care! read more

If I could rate with zero stars I would. For 2 years they would send "Application Complete" receipt texts when there was never an application. No work was done, but we were charged. After 2 yeats of this, last week was the 1st scheduled application was texted complete but no one ever showed up and NOTHING was done on our property. I was done. We called for a full refund of our upfront payment for 2025 treatment. The customer service rep kept me on the phone for 1hr. Today i called back aftet missed calls. The woman NEVER put in the refund which takes 7-10 days. Starting over hopefully THIS will ne the 1 right thing they do. Abhorrent service from customer service and technical service. If I could give zero stars, that's what I would give do not I repeat do not use this company. First service fine. Second service( now mind you my wife and I both work from home and have giant windows that see the back yard) the technician pulled roughly 15 feet of hose out and never sprayed the backyard only the front of the yard. I asked him about it and he said I sprayed. I do not like liars so I called customer service to reschedule a service call. In the app it showed scheduled for 5/28/2025(today). The company cancelled the service. Called Customer service to cancel my service because this is ridiculous. Everyone. Please if you are thinking about using this company do not. Worst experience ever. I built my home in 2000. I've cared for and nurtured my lawn like one of my kids for 16 years. I put it to bed every winter with pride it looks so good. I've had people stop at my house and compliment my grass. I retired this year, and bought an RV to travel and enjoy, so I passed the torch to TRU Green. What a mistake!! Don't do it. MY LAWN IS DESTROYED!!! Never tested my lawn as promised, they measure from Google earth view, and are way off. I've had four different applicators, each gets lost and knows nothing my issues. I have 8security cameras around house (for other reasons of course) I viewed cameras by DVR second application when I wasn't home and the applicator never got out of his truck except to stick the signs in. I called to complain got a big sorry, and lip service. Wish I read these reviews prior to sign and pay in full. Oh yeah added an unauthorized charge to my CC read more

They service my boyfriend's property. Some employees seem miserable and act in hostile and unprofessional ways. I asked the employee how long my pets needed to be off the lawn and in an aggressive/exasperated way he threw his arms up in the air and said "24 hours or as soon as it dries" and he "already told my husband". My boyfriend had never spoken to that employee. Who needs chemicals for the sake of a "perfect" lawn anyway. There are kinder alternatives for the earth. read more

Today, I called to schedule aeration and overseeing. I confirmed this service for the week of September 19th. Later in the afternoon TruGreen shows up (got them on camera) and DESTROYS my lawn. Aerates 10% of the lawn, drops no seed, and looks as if they were doing donuts with the machine. I called customer service immediately to find out I was not on the schedule and they accidentally "serviced" my property. Great way to go into the fall. PS - if I didn't have cameras, I would have never known it was them. read more

TrueGreen is the absolute worst. If your using them stop now if you can't make sure they are doing the entire yard and I can guarantee you they aren't. I had them on camera over multiple visits barely doing anything and leaving saying service was complete. Waiting for a reschedule to complete the service forever. I told them if it happens again I was done with them and wanted a full refund. Guess what it happened again with an aeration and seeding service. Forget having it on camera what idiot would say he did the entire yard when aeration pokes good size easy to spot holes in your lawn. The absolute worst 0 stars and I will continue to tell everyone I can to never use them complete idiots. STAY AWAY read more

TruGreen is a horrible company who completely disregarded my pavers and drove the lawn machines over them causing marks all over them. Mike is the manager over there who is completely unprofessional and doesn't return phone calls, this is the second time that trugreen ruined my walkway. Mike told me that TruGreen would pay to fix my walkway, that was over 6 weeks ago and still nothing. They will "yes"you to your face and then you will never hear back from them again. Please avoid them and use another company. If I could give negative stars I would. I attached some pics to show. read more

I had premium bluegrass sod installed in November of 2020. In August, TruGreen sprayed it and killed it. First they blamed the person that mows my lawn. Then they blamed deer urine. Over the following two months, I called their customer service line 31 times and spent over 20 hours on hold before I was finally put in touch with the branch manager, Justin. Justin agreed to replace the sod over the phone and said he would send someone out to take measurements. The first person that showed up was a TruGreen tech that had no notes about the incident and did not measure to replace the sod. He pretended to actually be Justin for the first 15 minutes he was at my property, and then correctly identified himself. Another 4 weeks and numerous texts and voicemails to Justin and they sent out a third-party landscaping company to measure for the sod. However, that person "forgot his wheel" to measure the square footage. It has been a week since that visit, and now Justin at the Danbury branch has stopped returning my calls and texts. Repair of the sod has not begun, nor do I have a plan of action. I have received two independent proposals to replace the sod, both exceeding $10,000 in replacement costs. On October 4th, I sent these proposals along with a demand letter to the Danbury branch via certified mail. They have yet to contact me. I recommend avoiding this company at all costs. If you have a problem, their customer service department is friendly about recording your complaint and tells you they will refer it to the local branch. However, the local branch never addresses the concern and the customer service department refuses to contact you directly until you threaten litigation. I've never been more disappointed with a service in my entire life. read more

We had TruGreen last year for the first time on our lawn. They quoted us a price with details of what treatments they would use. Then we called back when we had some questions and were quoted a totally higher price a second time with the same options. They were worried about losing us and came down on the price. They did not keep a consistent schedule through the spring/summer/fall. I don't think they have a proper scheduling system. The sales people or whoever does the scheduling never has a clue what's going on. We called and cancelled them in the winter. Someone came out in March and resprayed. I called and said we had cancelled and talked to *****. They claimed that never happened and we were due for payment and I said we had cancelled. Finally they agreed. A few months later, a man called and said our lawn looked horrible and had grubs in the dirt, and we needed this treatment and that mosquito spraying.... I let him talk and then said we cancelled you guys a long time ago and now use someone else. Our lawn is green and fine. The guy backtracked and said "Okay, bye." Typically lying sales people. No one came out to look at our lawn. It doesn't look bad at all. read more

Danbury Connecticut location and overall customer service. Totally unresponsive. Service cancelled by technician 4 times because he did not have appropriate equipment, never a return call from service manager, customer service not at location and most reps unable to fix problem. When it was Scott's, tremendous. Would highly recommend finding someone local if service provided by Danbury location, even if more expensive. Only when you call to cancel do they attempt to amend the issue. And even then, unable to resolve. Will never consider them for any service again. read more

Please be careful before hiring trugreen. My lawn was very healthy prior to signing on. Goal was to maintain health, spot treat clover and preventative cedar oil application for ticks.this was my first year I shopped around and decided to try trugreen. I do regret this decision. Directly after a application my lawn was damaged as seen in pictures. I was advised by a manager the tech used wrong treatment and too much of it which caused irreversible damage, chemical burn to lawn. There has been no resolution and manager has not been responsive to outlining remedy and timeframe to correct. Currently he said there is nothing he can do to correct the chemical burn.i am awaiting follow up however he is not responding. The application that destroyed my lawn was applied 3 weeks ago. Additionally my agreement was based on tick/mosquito organic cedar oil application which the manager says they do not offer now . It was in writing i signed up for this and only this type of application. They have not shared ingredients to what they do use although I have asked for this details numerous times. I was encouraged to pay upfront for savings which I did and the application window for all some treatment have passed. Overall poor customer services but more importantly they are selling one line of service but using other products not to mention allowing untrained employee to handle potentially dangerous ingredients. I will be pursing offical actions to rectify my issues. If anyone has a similar experience please reach out to me and we can collectively issue complaint and take action. I am dedicated to see a resolution and insure this does not happen to someone else. read more

The feedback speaks volumes, but I'll chime in. TruGreen has seriously damaged my lawn, leading to a constant back-and-forth due to service problems. Their rates might be attractive, but remember, you often get what you pay for. Unbearable customer service.... till today. Finally got a helpful person on the phone after Emory promises. Let's see what happens and if they meet with me. I would not recommend this business. I purchased a lawn care treatment program and was initially impressed with how fast they came out to service the lawn only to realize that they had spilt fertilizer on my lawn and along my driveway. The spilt fertilizer made 2 huge brown spots and a trail going across the driveway. I tried calling at least 10x and always got a customer service rep that would tell me the GM would be contacting me. I never heard from the GM and even when customer service would follow up they would be surprised. It's been 2 months and still have not heard back from the GM about and cleanup or reimbursement that I had to pay to have someone fix my lawn. I just called again and just keep getting sales calls back and service reps that follow up but nothing. Very poor service. read more

Fertilizing and weed control were fine. Problem was with aeration and over-seeding, for which I unfortunately had prepaid. After numerous calling and complaining, I had them come out 2 additional times to try to get a proper job done. Each time only random strips were aerated and seeded going nowhere near the bare areas that had been killed of weeds (approx. 50% of property was covered). You are unable to speak with a knowledgeable manager and they certainly won't come out to inspect the job that was done. I finally gave up trying and will concede the $400+ I shelled out for the treatment. Next year I'll do it myself and do it correctly. read more

My husband and I was recommended to try Tru Green. He has taken care of his grass for 10 years, but it has gotten to much for him. It was a bad idea and terrible experience. The person they send didn't check the lawn first, just came and aerator the grass and seed. Anyone could see that the grass was already dead and needed a person that knows about grass. The aerator hardly put holes in the ground because the machine was terrible. Even the person knew the machine was bad because he said so also. I wish my husband and I read the reviews before we proceeded and gave them our money which now they won't give back saying they have to take half for a bad job. Do the job right send someone out to evaluate that knows grass, like the company states. They lied there was no evaluation. First visit last visit for us we cancelled that day. It's terrible that you can't get good service from a company that's been around for years. Just sad that no cares anymore read more

I signed up for their service (Danbury office). To be fair, I do think it helped my lawn. However there is a charge I don't recognize. I have called EVERY number available for TruGreen and have been put on hold collectively for over 25 minutes with no response. My last call (after holding for 10 minutes) gave a recorded message that wait time was between 30-45 minutes. On the other hand, the sales office answers right away. When they can generate a charge, the customer service is great. To question a charge, Fuggetaboutit. I can truly say I have never seen such horrible customer service. When I asked for my money back they refused and said they don't do refunds. Tru Green said maybe we'll try again next year. We are embarrassed how bad our grass looks. TruGreen Danbury completed destroyed a large portion of my lawn due to overtreating for crabgrass. I have made numerous calls, of course only getting through to the call center. I was assured a supervisor would be here on Monday, a technician showed up? Why I don't know, and he agreed my grass was "fried" from too much weed killer. He said I should call the Supervisor, Justin Lucht, I have made several calls, spoken to at least three customer service representatives, and still no contact from anyone at Trugreen, it's now Thursday. A good part of my lawn is burnt from the chemicals. I am totally frustrated at the total lack of concern that they have demonstrated. I am seriously considering putting a sign on my lawn saying, Ask Me About Trugreen! They state that you have their guarantee that you will be happy with the service , which is a complete lie.
