Went there Last Saturday, it was Delicious! I had the two meat plate, and two sides! I ask for Lean Brisket and the Fatty Brisket as my meat choices, and Potatoes Salad and the Brisket Beans! The Brisket was so tender and had a great smoke ring and the perfect rub, on the out side! I don't live in Odessa and was kinda throw off when my suggested we eat there! Sure glad we Did, I loved every bite! My Husband had the three meat with Brisket, sausage, and ribs! He was well pleased with his choice but I didn't care so much for sausage and glad I went with the Brisket! We had soda to drink and it was really good too! I can't Believe this was HEB! Give it a try you will be glad you did! Highly Recommend it! The servers were so nice and made sure we were doing okay throughput our meal, only problem we had was the pump on the BBQ Sauce gave us a workout and when I asked if it was out was told that the company sent them out that way and they were truly sorry about that! No worries it was worth the work out! read more

I'm from California. I was visiting my daughter & son-in-law in Sweetwater. We were shopping @H.E.B. The menu @Tru Texas Bbq was enticing so I decided to buy lunch. What a treat!! Food was delicious but the employees and the service went above & beyond!! The ladies really enjoy what they do!! Their sense of humor and southern charm made our experience unforgettable. I can't wait to visit this location again to get treated to real Texas hospitality and outstanding Texas Bbq. Their sliced brisket sandwich was superb!!!! read more

I have been wanting to try HEB bbq for a long time and today I got my chance. I'm sure the quality varies significantly from store to store and day to day. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, not even close. It was decent. It did not look or taste as if it was fresh. I came in at 12:30 there were about 20 or so eating lunch. The brisket was very dry and was hard to eat until I bathed it in bbq sauce. Would I give them another chance? Yes, particularly since I had read such good reviews about their bbq but not anytime soon. read more

True Texas BBQ - Sliced Natural Brisket Sandwich - Barbeque Near Me - Odessa, Texas

Sandwich - missing 2 ingredients One meat plate - wrong meat Desserts - both were not that great El Jefe sandwich was wonderful even though it was missing the Cole slaw and I had to add my own sauce. Brisket also very good, just not very much of it and I had to chop it myself. This was a to-go order. I'm sure they would have fixed some of these issues if I had dined in. Or checked the order before I left with it. Also I hate how you have to call the grocery store to communicate with them read more

I stopped in today to grab something quick for lunch and I was impressed!! Nubia was very patient and kind when I couldn't decide was great! I did not feel rushed and will most definitely be back with my family. read more

What a pleasant surprise to find good Texas BBQ in a grocery store. Who would of thunk it. Lol I had the chopped brisket, fatty brisket, beans, potato salad and a bud light. The chopped brisket has a nice spice to it, the fatty brisket melted in my mouth, the beans were tasty, the potato salad was ahh and the beer wasn't that cold. The restaurant was clean and the help was friendly but if your going to sell beer it needs to be ice cold and the potato salad taste like it was out off a tub no flavor at all. read more

True Texas BBQ - Beans, Mac n cheese, pulled pork sandwich - Barbeque Near Me - Odessa, Texas

We came in up at 6:30 Saturday night and they are completely out of brisket, chop brisket, and pulled pork, so what do you sell until 9:00? Would not recommend this location. The lady behind the counter was completely rude and was not helpful at all. read more

I hate to admit it, but this was the best BBQ I've had in a LONG time! Who knew HEB was the home of a great BBQ cafe. All five of us were pleased. The only BAD thing was that they were sold out of several items when we arrived at 6:30pm. read more

When they first opened it was great but has steadily gone downhill. Today I got a sliced brisket sandwich that had a bun ripped in half .The size of a small biscuit. Two slices of onion bigger than the bread and two pickles were just thrown on top of the small piece of bread . Anyone who was fixing this sandwich should have known this wasn't right. Ridiculous. read more

They never have what we want they claim to be out before lunch time.... And I ask for lean brisket and I don't know why but they don't ever give me the lean it's always the fatty brisket. The nachos don't even waist your time or money ‍ read more

Wonderful BBQ! Just had the brisket, turkey and chicken with brisket beans and potato salad and it has to be the best bbq in Odessa. They were out of ribs and sausage but it was late on Sunday evening so that is completely understandable. The staff was very nice on the phone and at the pick up counter. I will definitely be returning to True Texas BBQ! read more

This place sux... cold food and delivery sucks ass... can't get the order right... no bbq sauce or utensils... never eating here again.

Ordered two chopped beef sandwiches. Theylooked like dried Alpo in a box with a bun tossed in on top of the meat. Can't these people even make a sandwich? Didn't taste good but our dog loved it. But he likes cat poop too! read more

This Barbeque restaurant is by far the best your going to get in this town. The smoked turkey is very good with an actual smoke ring. The Brisket "moist" is very good and tender. My only problem is the employees need to learn how to slice the brisket first. "Slice against the grain". Haven't had the ribs get because that are always sold out when I get a chance to go. Get there early. This place will be a hit with football season and boxing events coming up. Hope they start making more food. Plus it's inside the new HEB. Can't get any better than that. read more

My wife and love it here and we love heb. Smokey tender brisket. It's smoked overnight they do a good job here. I haven't tried the ribs but I will eventually. The pulled pork sandwich is good too. It's about average pricing for bbq around here not to bad. It's worth it. read more

For being located in a grocery store, great BBQ. Huge portions. The stuffed baked potato with chopped brisket was awesome. Good crust on the brisket. 3 sauces to choose from; Texas, KC, and Carolina (South - mustard based.) read more

Most of BBQ is pretty good. Ribs are disappointing, cooked to a leather consistency. I like the variety of sauces and tea is good.

Best brisket in town and great turkey. Chopped brisket on a spud is always good. The sides I can vouch for are the brisket beans, Mac & cheese, and cornbread. read more

Horrible. They always forget food when I driver with them, it's every single time. Food isn't even that good. Hire better workers. Wasn't even busy. read more

Very Very Very Good Food & Affordable..... Brenda & Tina put together my order. I bought the party pack for 12 with a side order of 2lbs of ribs. Our party pack came with sliced turkey, sliced brisket, potato salad, brisket beans, green beans, 2 loaves of bread, 2 pints of BBQ sauce (they have different types of BBQ sauce: North Carolina, Kansas, & Texas), 1 pint of pickles , 1 pint of onions, & big pan of banana pudding (THEY THREW IT IN THE ORDER FOR FREE.. OMG) The staff works so hard to get your order right, to the the point of you almost feeling guilty that you have some one working that hard on your behalf. HEB has really gotta winning idea here. And I really hope they take care of the employees working for them that makes the TRUE BBQ concept work so well. THANKS BRENDA & TINA FOR YOUR HARD WORK AT THE ODESSA LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every single item in my order was better than any BBQ restaurant I've been to here in Texas. The Banana Pudding was the real star of our party once everybody ate, then decided to have some desert. Grown men actually started arguing who was gonna take the last of the pudding...lol..smh. Portions are large, and even though we had a party pack for 12. It was easily enough food for 15 ppl. This concept by HEB seems to only be in West Texas, where I work currently. However, I sure wish they'd bring it to the Houston & Sugar Land & Katy Areas. read more

I have been here a few times and they are always out of everything. If I were you I wouldn't waste my money or time with this place, they never have anything, large drinks, straws, napkins, bread, brisket, turkey or ham... and it's not because they are so busy they sell out.... it's because if poor management. read more

All i can say is get you sum ! my wife and I have spent well over 300$ over the past 4 or 5 months here. Every time we have recieved consistent moist brisket with good smoke , a killer bark and dry rub crust also, perfectly smoked st louis style ribs every time along with a free loaf of bread and fixins ! Needless to say finally i dont have to slave over my smoker for hrs to eat some true smoked meats around odessa any longer. True texas bbq has damn near put my smoker clean out of bussiness ! Without a doubt These guys are miles ahead of any place that calls themselves a bbq joint in odessa and as good if not better than kds bbq . If you like "REAL SMOKED MEATS " give them One shot and you will be hooked !! True Texas iswell worth the extra few $$$ spent ! read more

Staying overnight in Odessa, we decided to have dinner delivered. First time eating here and we are not impressed. Ordering only allowed through food delivery app -Favor - and the app is very vague on how to order and on final amount. Back to the restaurant... when driver arrived to the restaurant to place order, I got a call from the driver (who was a lady) saying TTB was out of a side. Fine, I made an sub. Then I was called again by her and told TTB was out of the meat we ordered. Fine, SECOND sub. I paid for the order which included an auto tip for the driver. Took normal delivery time to arrive to our room. Driver, (a man) who was different than who I spoke to on phone arrived with child in tow, and waited until I gave him a SECOND tip! Okay fine again, he did me a huge favor! Go to open our food and the sides were wrong that I had ALREADY substituted AND the meat was wrong on the other meal than what we ordered on the meat we subbed!!! By the time we got our food, the place was closed. Anyways, I do not recommend this place. The food tasted okay, and was lukewarm to cool on arrival. read more

I tried this spot because there was a many awesome reviews about it. Though I was not content with the food. I tried a brisket sandwhich, this made me really sick and it was really greasy. The proportion of this meal was awful. Also the prices are not great. I have slow cooked a brisket and made a way better sandwhich for way less and more meat. I never would try this spot ever again. I do not even like shopping at H-E-B. Please if you think about going here please save your money and buy something else. read more

I have tried this place 3 times since they opened and each time it just got progressively worse. We have gotten rancid green beans, potato salad that has gone sour and another time we ordered sliced brisket. What we got was fat and gristle with a little bit of brisket attached. My brother's daughter, who is a toddler, clammed up and wouldn't even eat any of it. Sorry, but 3 strikes and you're out. read more

Food was pretty good. Kinda fatty for the brisket. Not bad all around. It's inside a major shopping center so parking is kinda crazy it its worth the stop. Good food. read more

On our way home and stopped because of the great reviews (and awesome comments). This barbecue was awesome! There was a perfect smoke ring on the brisket, go ahead and get it fatty because it will melt in your mouth. And do yourself a favor and get the brisket beans. Nom! read more

Overall true texas bbq is not what it used to be. I was waiting to get service, while the associates just stood there in the back in a group. I arrived about 7pm, there was not much product to choose from. No pulled pork, no ribs, only brisket to choose from which I settled. I was also wanting to get dessert, which to my disappointment there wasn't any. I was planning to place a big order, however, there was not much product to choose from. Very disappointed. I wish the restaurant would place a sign of the product they are sold out of and made the customer aware before you decide. read more

Decent BBQ... I waited for them to call my name for quite a while and finally went to the pickup area to find my food sitting there. When I asked if it was mine, they were confused and then realized that it was mine. They just forgot about it. Then I had to wait for my side. All in all, the food was pretty good though. read more

At Texas BBQ again and they won't let me mix my meat (On my potato)! This very nice guy named Jessie said that I couldn't and that it's company policies. Well, just on Saturday, they allowed me to mix my meats. I'm so angry and confused after speaking with corporate months ago and they said I could mix my meats. Tired of the inconsistency. Good part is that my potato is delicious read more
