Derun Construction Inc. is run by brothers Paul & Ivan Derun. I've had the opportunity to utilize…read moreDerun to fully remodel a ~40 year old Screen Porch and highly recommend their services. Rather than stating that they're great to work with (which they truly are) let me elaborate on my actual experience. Given I was seeking to remodel an existing porch structure in a pretty significant way, I initially enlisted the services of a structural engineering firm to create drawings for me. Thereafter, I began interviewing prospective contractors to perform the work laid out in the drawings and was quite surprised at the relative indifference and/or opposition shown by several contractors toward the existence of the plans - most claimed there wasn't a need for them or attempted to tell me how engineers just overcomplicate things. Paul, on the other hand, was actually delighted to know that I had these engineering plans in hand and went over them with me at our very first meeting. He was intelligent enough to realize that if he followed the engineering drawings, as laid out; he would have no issues in getting the project through the county code enforcement process which would be a win for both him, as a contractor, and me, as the client. Paul takes a lot of pride in his work and he works hard to please his customers. By nature, I am a very particular individual; and being a Realtor by profession, makes me even more so. Paul took all of my feedback in stride and did everything he could to meet my exacting standards. There were days when I literally hovered over him and his team; more so to learn from them (given my profession) rather than to supervise - but I'm quite sure this couldn't have been a lot of fun for him and the crew. In the few instances where my expectation on certain things happened to exceed the underlying project scope; Paul was very diplomatic in pointing this out to me and we quickly found common ground such that I wasn't compromising his profit margins and was able to fulfill my desires. I also wanted a proper estimate on the front end; as well as, a full paper trail of the project - including change orders - which Paul readily supplied. Paul's pricing was fair and the project was completed within the cost margins of error and project timeline I had planned for. I had a vision for what the porch would look like when completed and Paul provided a lot of good feedback in making my vision a reality. We talked through a lot of different things like material choices, design, electrical outlet locations etc. I'll conclude by saying Paul is just a genuinely good person....period; and anyone who opts to work with him is in good hands. Thank you Paul, Ivan and the rest of the team!

They did a superb job! All of their technicians are very polite, professional and knowledgeable! Their employees are perfectionists. They truly went the extra mile to make sure everything fits perfectly, works perfectly; and to make sure customers are 100 percent satisfied with their work. I highly recommend TruBlue of Union County for all of your home improvement and maintenance needs.

The TruBlue team completed repairing the ceiling, painting, laying laminate flooring and new carpeting throughout his home. Externally, the roof gutters were cleaned and repaired. The home was power washed and yard work was beautifully completed. I never had to inquire about what was being done because Wendy daily keep me informed and would offer advice to her making his home more appealing to any potential buyers. The TruBlue team were professional, and worked hard to get the job done in a timely manner. My brother's home now looks fabulous, with the yard work and new shutters on his windows, and most importantly - the For Sale sign placed in the front yard of his home. I highly recommend their service because Wendy is honest and dedicated to getting the done from start to finish!

Horrible experience. The contractor does not communicate with subcontractors nor does he inspect…read moretheir work as it is being completed. We were told that the work would take no more than 2 weeks --- a lie. Subcontractors did not report to work three consecutive days and the contractor was not aware of their absence. The contractor nor anyone from his office could not be reached to inquire about the whereabouts of the workers. Drywall work was sloppy, demolition was sloppy --- dust everywhere. Painting was horrible. Painters painted the insides of the window pane. Our hardwood floors were ruined either by the drywall people or the painters. Paint, dust, and debris on the hardwood and they could not clean it off or remove it. They had to replace the hardwood in the dining room and a portion of the foyer. HORRIBLE WORK. The "replaced/ new" hardwood does not match the remaining hardwood throughout the house. The contractor, owner of the company, was very nonchalant about the whole matter.... the workers not showing up and the hardwood floors being ruined. The men who put down the replaced hardwood left glue stains all over the floor in several areas. They came back on a separate day from the day of installation to clean the glue, but guess what? The glue was not able to be removed. Shotty work. The great thing about it is that I documented all of their work with photos and videos I will share with those who need to be made aware of this horrible situation. This project has left me very disappointed and frustrated. I wouldn't use this company to build a house for my dog.
