He took the time to listen, was attentive to my concerns, and made me feel that my health and well-being genuinely mattered. I have visited this ER multiple times in the past, and although I have had one experience that wasn't the greatest, this visit stood out above all the others. I also want to recognize every single staff member who played a part in my care. I sincerely wish I had gotten everyone's names, from the patient care specialists at the front window to the nurses, technicians, and everyone working behind the scenes in the treatment area. What impressed me most was witnessing how well everyone worked together. From coordinating laboratory work to imaging and everything in between, I could see the teamwork, communication, and dedication. Everyone took their responsibilities seriously while still treating patients with kindness, dignity, and respect. I had to hunt people down to get care for my 86 yr old mother. My mother had to sit in her urine. They didn't have a BP monitor or oxygen monitor on her for hours. The oxygen tank wasnt even turned on. When they did finally put the monitors on her BP was 192/78 oxygen 89 Blood work and test results several hours. My family has used several ER's in the valley and this was the worst experience by far.

At one point, I was jokingly asked if I was a "spy from another office," which made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed for being engaged in my own health. We ultimately agreed on a treatment plan, which included starting liothyronine despite my thyroid levels already being within the normal range, to optimize it. About a month later, I began experiencing unwanted side effects and reached out to the office seeking guidance. I left messages and did not receive a response for the remainder of the day. I called again the next morning, left another voicemail, and still received no response. When I followed up a few hours later, I was told they had been busy. I understand that medical offices can have hectic days, but when a patient is experiencing side effects from a prescribed medication, timely communication matters. Even a quick acknowledgment or reassurance would have gone a long way. For a practice that focuses on optimizing health and wellness, I expected a higher level of responsiveness and patient care. I review everything. Including... walk-in doctor's offices. So, I'm a One Medical user, and I've used it for about six months. This is my home location, and I'm definitely a fan. One of the main things I like about it is how you can get labs done by just walking in anytime. You don't need an appointment. You just walk in and wait. If there's a line, they can give you a time to come back. Or, if there's no line, you can just sit in the waiting room. It's very nice to have a lab on site, and you don't have to deal with the whole Sonora Quest adventure that a lot of us Arizonans deal with. I've seen two nurse practitioners there. Both of them were helpful. And not only did they show good bedside manner--if I'm able to use that term, despite not actually being in a hospital bed--but they also were quick to respond to my messages on the app. The service here is painless. No pun intended. It's easy to make an appointment. Their app is very well-designed. And this location is clean and friendly. I would recommend One Medical if you're looking for a simple primary care experience.

I asked in the app and the person who replied was extremely rude as well, when I was just looking for clarification. Apparently a Saturday appointment triggers an extra $87 charge as "after hours" even though that was never disclosed and it shows on the website that they are opening alternate Saturdays (again with no mention of it being an extra fee or extra hours.) It wasn't an emergency and we didn't need to go on a Saturday. I just think that it should be disclosed somewhere that an extra fee will be incurred. My first inquiry in the app received a very patronizing "non-answer" to my question. The AI in the app is great but it doesn't handle billing. AI isn't always helpful but at least it's not rude or insulting. After the back and forth, I logged in to pay the balance that I should not have owed, but I chalked it up to a lesson learned. It showed zero balance. That was a few weeks ago, and today I got a bill in the mail showing the outstanding balance again. The providers and the quality of care are amazing. I just felt insulted the way I was treated by the billing people, and that's left a bad taste in my mouth. As for Village Medical as a facility - this place needs a lot of help. Trying to communicate with a provider is difficult. You cannot call the office directly, you send a message it takes days to get a reply. You use the chat or call the help line and it takes days for you to get some type of a reply from anyone. The answer is always "we will get back to you in a week." Sometimes a week is a very long time when you have a pressing issue. There is certainly a disconnect between the patient and provider. It is all corporate and help desk. When I get feedback from my pharmacy that I need a pre-authorization, or there is a question, it takes about a week to get any type of resolution because you cannot communicate with the office directly. If it was not for the fact that I like my doctor so much I would leave this place. Finding a good doctor is very tough. I just wish this place would get it together.
