At that they were selling a coffee sugar body scrub and it was amazing. Environment is comfortable and welcoming. True 'Brew deserves a better rating from me. It's a solid 4-star coffee and brunch spot for food and service. However, it lacked many COVID-19 precautions. When you're from a larger place and accustomed to COVID mandates everywhere it's surprising to visit out-state places and find situations similar to pre-COVID conditions. At True 'Brew dining room tables were spread out but that was it for virus precautions. No plexiglass shields at the register. No employee masks or gloves except for the sandwich maker. No soap out. No social distancing signs. My turkey club sandwich was built on wonderful tasting flatbread. It would have been an exceptional sandwich if not for the excessive mayonnaise. Mayo dominated the sandwich. The one napkin I received was insufficient to contain mayo squirting off every edge of the flatbread. Salad, chips, and pickle came with, making the $6.50 price a real value. True 'Brew has plenty of coffee, tea, smoothie, and milkshake options but no colas or bottled water. First and foremost, this is a Christian ministry to the community. Everyone working there is a volunteer and donations are accepted to use in feeding needy people in the area. They also operate a movie theater and a thrift store for the benefit of the third poorest county in Missouri. The prices are most reasonable. The coffee bar is well above average, while the food would rate around three stars. Do yourself a favor: Stop, get some coffee and something to eat and make a donation. You will be blessed and you will be a blessing to others in need. read more

What negative thing can you say about a business that is willing to give you free food if your hungry with out money?! This place is an amazing lovely operation that serves their community with food, a little thrift store and a movie theatre. We had sandwiches, coffee and ice cream and the man who was running it asked us if we wanted to pray with him before we left. The atmosphere is inviting and clean and the people who work there volunteer. I will be back the next time we go. I set out to find an "okay" cup of coffee this morning. I have to be honest - I didn't have high expectations. I took a chance, fired up Yelp and set out to find that "okay" cup of coffee. What I found was hands down the best place to be in Ava, MO. Walking in you're immediately transported somewhere else. And that somewhere else has an amazing breakfast sandwich (The Paddington) and that "okay" cup of coffee was smacked down by an EPIC full flavored cup of Joe that made the day so much better! Let me first start by saying I love to find local places and try to shop local as well. We have been doing work here in Ava,and found this cute lil gem amongst all the "fast food" so common in small towns. I had the Sweet Spinach Salad and loved it. The sweet onion dressing was delicious! My husband had half sandwich and a cup of soup. The sandwich was the applewood Roast beef and the soup of the day was Italian tortellini. He enjoyed it very much. Food doesn't have to be complicated just good and nourishing! We tried their strawberry Italian soda, nice treat. They make all their own soups as well. They have a huge coffee and tea me has well. I'm about to try them again! I'll update! read more

Not pleasant. They were "mop & glowing" the floors at 8:00 am in the morning! I just passed. Tip: do your deep cleaning after hours.

A wonderful little coffee house and cafe on the square in Ava. My parents live close to Squires about ten miles away and I pass through Ava all the time on my way to visit them. The soups are all made in house, from scratch and the drinks are quite good and much less inexpensive than what you would find at a place like Starbuck's or Scooter's. The owner is typically also the person working as barista and she's fairly chatty and pleasant to talk to. The environment is typically quiet and the music isn't so overpowering, or loud, that it negatively affects the ability of patrons to have conversations with one another. read more
