Did call them back at earliest convenience on Wednesday, which I immediately apologized for since I realized it was almost 6 pm. Thursday morning as I'm going out the door at 7:03, they call again. I tell them earliest is 4 that day or Friday. Person on phone said 4 pm was too late so they said they'd see me Friday. Later Thursday, at 11:41 they again called wanting to come by. I went ahead & answered! They said they wanted to come by later that day,. I again informed them "they can't come over on that day unless its after 4." They said that was too late! I then asked, why are you calling again since they had already called at 7 am & we had made arrangements for Friday, but no set time. Again arrangements made for Friday with no set time. Was at house all day Friday, yet no one showed. Not sure what is up with this company but if this is how they handle business, not sure I want them fixing things in my home.

After hearing excuses about why he wasn't showing up, which included but were not limited to: the weather, his vehicle not starting, no power at his house, the place he was to rent a lift from was not available unless more money given, etc. I decided on 01/29/2021 to part ways with him for Breach of Contract and ask for my money back. Mr. Auwerter agreed, via text message, to refund me in full. Today is 02/15/2021 and I have not received my money back. I sent a text message on 02/05/2021 to inform Mr. Auwerter that he has yet to refund me and he responded on the morning of 02/06/2021 to apologize to me, for he was having "financial problems". I know how it is to be down on your luck so I informed him he had until Wednesday, 02/10/2021 to return my money, in full, or my intentions were to escalate this. His response was to tell me "not to threaten him" and that if I read the contract, technically, he only had to return half of my money. This person is a scam artist and a thief. I have a BBB complaint in, will be calling the police, and will go to court as a matter of principle. This case is simple. I gave him money, he never performed any services at all, and will not return my money. Where I come from, that is theft.

We allowed him to remove gates from another property we owned to be used in this project. He took 3 gates worth over $200 and never installed those gates for us, being a no-show or claiming an emergency over 5 times. Then he wanted to charge us more than the original contract. We fired him for breach of contract and he still refused to issue us the $40 refund requested, even after we said he could keep the $200 gates. We had to dispute it with our credit card company. We were very kind to him and did not deserve this treatment.

The job was not completed; the timeline kept getting pushed back. I was lied to about supply delays that were "holding things up" to find out the supplies were not ordered. The office manager lied and strung me along many times (per Lloyd's instruction, she says). My interactions with Lloyd--only two while I was trying to get the job done--were disrespectful, unprofessional, and angry on his part. As of yesterday, the office manager told me no one has heard from Lloyd, and she will no longer have a "phone" I can contact her on. I have no choice but to purchase the remaining supplies needed and hire someone else to complete the job I have already paid Black Hills Handyman, Lloyd Darling, to do.
