This place is a rip-off...take it to another mechanic before purchasing. Or better yet, dont buy from there. There are not enough words for the horrible experience this has been. From Jacquie at the front desk not letting me talk to anyone, my motor being 2 qts low on oil, my heater stopped working, wrong radiator cap, to the mechanic who told me to "make sure my radiator is full and see if it overheats anymore then call back and he'll see if he can fit me in". I bought a 2010 Camaro about 6 months ago from trucks & Toys. Within the first week of owning the vehicle I heard a noise when I turned the steering wheel so I contacted the dealership and took the car in. They said it was a "loose clamp" and they adjusted it so the noise stopped. I went out of town to go visit my mom about 5 hours away and when i got their and parked I noticed my car was leaking fluid very fast. I took the car the Chevy dealership in Tacoma, WA and they said my car needed a new power steering pump. If I didn't purchase an extended warranty with my car I would have paid 700 and something dollars. The next issue I had was my service engine light came on. So I took the car to trucks and toys and they told me it was something that was not the real issue. This went on for months, they told me something unrelated to the actual issue was the problem and I paid for it. The last thing they replaced was the ECU (computer) and it did not make my service engine light go away. So I took my car to the Chevy dealership in post falls and found out my car needed a new timing chain. My car is badass and I love it but once it is off the lot good luck. I would recommend having a mechanic look at it before you purchase it because they wont fix something for you free of charge after you buy it. read more

While I was driving in May a rock hit my windshield. I went to toys and trucks because of a referral from someone. My windshield was ordered but the one that came in was an aftermarket and it did not end up fitting. They ordered the new windshield which took about four weeks to receive. They were so kind they called me right away when it came in and he had my windshield in in 40 minutes. Great job I recommend this company. read more

On 3/7/2022 my husband and I purchased a 2010 Subaru Legacy from Trucks and Toys in Post Falls, ID for $11,800. This car was going to be my husband's commuter car for work and eventually be passed down to our oldest daughter in a few years when she starts driving, so we told them we needed a mechanically sound vehicle. Jackie (salesperson) assured us that they go meticulously through every vehicle and fix any mechanical issues, which is why they are a "no haggle" car lot. We purchased the car at 1:30pm on 3/7/22. My husband drove it to work that night and on his way home at 1:00am on 3/8/22 the check engine light, cruise control light, traction control light and e-brake light all came on. I called them and spoke with Jamie (service manager/owners daughter). I told her about all the warning lights that were on and that the vehicle was leaking what appeared to be transmission fluid, she said to bring it in and they'd look at it. I dropped it off 3/10/22 at 9am for them to look at it, they called me later that day stating they fixed the leaking fluid but that the code it was showing was the P0420 (catalytic converter) and that it was probably just carbon build up from the engine work they did and to drive it for a few days, reset the code and it should be good to go... but if it wasn't to "call them back and they'll see what they can do." We drove it for a few days and I called them 3/16/22 because the lights came back on after we reset it, Ken (new service guy) stated they couldn't get us in until the next week so I scheduled to drop it off on 3/22/22. Ken called us later that afternoon saying it was the catalytic converter and it'd be $800-1,000 to repair, we asked to have Jamie call us since this seemed to be am issue the vehicle already had when we purchased it. She called 3/23/22 and said they'd be able to work out a deal with us but that she needed to do some research and call us back with a price. On 3/24/22 we get a call from Ken saying because our vehicle has 2 catalytic converters (and they don't know which one is bad) it'd be $1400 to fix our car (for parts and a "discount on labor"). I've talked to a few mechanic friends about this vehicle and ALL agree that Trucks and Toys likely reset the codes prior to us purchasing the vehicle (so that there weren't any warning lights on) and sold us a vehicle that they knew needed new catalytic converters. This business seems to be very dishonest and we will absolutely never take any of our vehicles to them in the future. They "buy" 5 star reviews with a free oil change. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a car dealership!! My wife and I were in a very vulnerable position and needed a car quickly to move. We came to get a Subaru from them but when we got to the shop they had just sold the one we wanted but they told us they had one in the back that would be ready in a week. It was way overpriced but they assured us the car was in incredible condition. Upon getting the car which we had already put a huge deposits on it shifted horribly and when I explained to the salesman that it was shifting hard his response was "all Subaru's shift hard" ‍. I reluctantly bought it because my wife and I had already waited so weeks for it and did not have time to look for another car. Within two days of owning it the entire transmission blew out as I was driving it. I called the owner and he had a used transmission put in it to "get us by" we were constantly told that it would be a "great car" and that Subaru's are "tanks" but we have had nothing but issues with it. I had to put all new tires on it after three months of owning it because the front tie rods were shot. We learned this by sliding across four lanes of traffic on the highway. When I called them to see if the would be willing to help us they said they would try and get us a good price of the tie rods but that was it. I know this is a long review but honestly this company has done nothing but bring issues into my families life with the car they sold us. We have had it for two years and are still trying to pay it off but we've put way more than what the car is worth in repairs. They said they are a "Christian" company but none of what they have done reflect that. Very disappointed and there has been no attempt to change our minds. read more

I purchased a 2011 outback from here about 6 months ago and have intentionally waited so I could post a fair review and not one based on anger. I want to start with what I think they do well, they are indeed friendly and do a good job at customer service and detailing the cars. I think overall there are some good cars there. I did receive a birthday card months later hoping I still like my purchase. What I want all people to be aware of. When you purchase a car there, you get a $50 gift certificate for a free oil change if you give them a 5 star review, so..... read all 5 star reviews being aware of that and they in no way stand behind their cars after you purchase them. Small things that were noticed, wipers worked but when it finally rained, they had no been replaced like they said. I had a tail light that was out. Fluids were low when I checked them about 2 weeks later. Big thing: the inspection process they claim is so complete, it is not and they in no way stand behind their cars. After driving my car for 2 weeks, I had problems, major problems. I called them and brought the car into have it looked at. When it was shifted from drive to reverse there was a shudder, only when sufficiently warmed up. I also had 2 instances where the car stalled when I pulled up to stop lights. After many hours on the internet, all the forums related to the torque converter. I had them look at it, they immediately said it was a bad axle (which they say they inspect on all their cars). They were unwilling to fix the problem but would be willing to fix it at my cost, which by the was was much more expensive that other places I got quotes from, an yes i was comparing genuine Subaru parts at all places. I then took my car to a shop I've used for years, they took one look and said definitely not the axles, in fact they had the car up on the rack and went through it with me and compared to 2 other Subarus also up on racks in the shop. I then had the transmission fluid changed per recommendation from 2 Subaru dealers and the shop doing the work. I should also mention that when i asked if Trucks and Toys could change the fluid, they said they can't because they don't actually have the tool, soo..... buyer beware of any transmission inspection or fluid changes because they can't actually change the fluid on 2011 Subarus and newer, yet the Subaru repair shop had no problems. The fluid change made some difference, problem still there and the solution was to replace the torque converter to the tune of $2500 to $3000. Another $2-3K if the transmission was bad. I dumped the car and had to take a loss, which is the best thing I could have done as this car was total piece of S... I should also note that upon research, there is actually a class action law suit on this problem, since the car had over 100K on it, I was not eligible for the repairs from Subaru. For a shop that specialized in subaru, this should have not happened and any interested party should be aware that if given the opportunity, they will dump a bad car to you. read more

This family-owned business knows what good customer service is and has perfected it... they are professional and friendly... we look forward to working with them again in the future and are glad to know they also service Subarus, in case we need assistance in the future... this is the kind of business you want to reward and encourage...
