Not impressed. Not a helpful atmosphere. I really didn't feel comfortable shopping here and would much rather spend my money elsewhere.

Now this is how service should be done, and how all Pep Boys should be. If you checked my review of…read morethe Pep Boys in Cranberry, PA, you saw what a crappy experience I had, topped off with the worst customer service I've ever encountered anywhere. Now, I usually take my car to the Steubenville Pike Pep Boys, so the Cranberry thing was just a one-off because at the time I thought it would be more convenient as I was in the area and figured the service was good at my usual location, so why not elsewhere? Won't make that mistake again. Anyway, last weekend I took my car in due to some rumbling noise in the rear which I thought was due to a bearing. Turned out I needed my struts replaced. So Bob, ace Pep Boy extraordinaire at this location told me he could take $100 off with some in store coupons to buffer a bit of the cost as I would also need an alignment, which goes hand in hand with this sort of job. So I took my car back in today. They fixed the struts, but Bob informed me they found some other weird noise after that. I was a bit saddened by the news as this is a '99 Camry I'm driving with over 200,000 miles on it. Great car, still drives excellently, but these little repairs can add up fast. When I went to pick up my car and pay for the struts, Bob informed me that the other noise was being caused by the bushings, and that he just comped that for me, saying, "I just wanted to make sure it was 100% for you." Awesome. Just, fantastic in every way. I also got the discount that he mentioned the week before. So all in all, I was a happy guy, fully vindicated after the disaster that was my previous trip to the Cranberry Store. This is the Pep Boys you want to go to if you're in the area. The staff is friendly, they know what they're doing, and they're not there to just punch in and out and pick up a paycheck. Bob went out of his way to make sure I got service above and beyond what I expected just because he's Bob, and he's awesome. So take note, corporate heads of Pep Boys, this is a stellar store and one all your others should be modeled after. The Cranberry location can still eat it.

I walked into O'Reilly's one day to pick up headlights for my car and immediately I could tell the employees actually cared about helping me and not just getting a big sale. They helped me find all the items I needed and even offered to change my headlights for me FOR FREE. I was overjoyed. I have recommended this location to so many people and I have been back so many times since. Whenever I have any car needs, I will always check here first! Everyone is so helpful and I love knowing that they genuinely want to help me instead of getting a sale.

He decided not to use any adapter. That didn't seem right, but it was really cold. In about a week a plastic part of one of the blades broke. And then in another week, both parts broke and the blade came off. S*** happens. What matters to me a lot is how the business responds. I took the blade in and showed Tyler that it was broken. Without my even asking, he said it would be replaced. When I explained that I thought it broke because it was installed without an adapter. He agreed. Replaced and installed two new blades. And is the first person (of 4) putting new blades on this car who figured out immediately how the adapter worked. I go out of my way to go to this store. Big call out to Tyler for courtesy and competence!

And it depends upon the person in the store that day - some of the kids they hire don't have much of a clue and I've had some attitude on some occasions, but mostly the staff have been good. Parts wise, it you're working on something American, then you're probably sorted - I'm not, so you just never know. Otherwise, I might have to go to Rollier's (which is even less likely to have what I need), or take the trek out to Harbor Freight (more likely, but less quality). That said, my experiences in other chains like O'Reilly's has been pretty poor, and this location is walking distance, so I'll definitely go here versus anywhere else.

We were frantic and desperate. JOHN HIDEY at O'Reilly Auto, store # 6640, was an absolute angel sent from God, in our time of need. No exaggeration. He patiently walked me through purchasing the vehicle battery online, the tools to do the work, but most of all....he offered to bring it to us after he closed the store at 9 pm. That was above and beyond in every way. I am so thankful for John. Every employer needs a John like him!! I cannot begin to express my gratitude. I wish I could give 1,000 stars, not just 5. Thank you John for being such a great human. God bless you.
