If i could, id give no stars, but unfortunately, I do have to provide at least one** On May 5, 2025, I enrolled in a gym membership under a "5 de Mayo" promotion, which included three complimentary personal training sessions. During the first personal training session, I was coerced into signing a six-month personal training contract despite not having used the remaining two complimentary sessions. My account was set up for automatic payment. I was not made aware of any errors by gym staff until approximately three to four months later, when I began receiving calls from a legal attorney attempting to collect payments. This was confusing, as my account had been on auto-pay and I had not authorized any additional charges. After contacting the gym by phone and receiving no resolution, I was instructed to come in person. During that visit, I was informed by higher-level staff that the issue resulted from a staff error. Specifically, another individual's payment information had been entered onto my account without proper verification. I did not legally provide authorization for this change. As a result of this error, my payments were incorrectly reported as past due, my credit was negatively impacted, and I was subjected to repeated collection calls. When going again in person, I had a very unprofessional interaction with front desk staff. I asked for support, and the staff member blamed the issue on me and stated that I deserved for my credit to be negatively affected. I then requested assistance from someone else, as the first staff member was being condescending. The staff member smirked and stated that she was the only one who could provide support. I called for a staff member who was passing by to assist me, and with his help, I was able to get the issue resolved and spoke with a manager regarding the matter. Later, approaching December 2025, I sought to close my account. I was informed that I had to be added to a three-month personal training contract to pay off the balance stemming from the earlier staff error. Reluctantly, I agreed to this arrangement. I was verbally informed that I could officially close the account on the final day of that three-month period. On February 5, 2026, I returned to pay off the remaining balance to close my account earlier than planned. I was told I would need to provide a 30-day notice, despite previously providing what effectively served as a 90-day notice through the three-month contract agreement. As a result, I was forced to pay for an additional month for both membership and personal training. During that same visit, I requested a written statement documenting the previously acknowledged staff error to submit to the credit bureau. The manager I spoke with stated he would communicate this request to the appropriate parties, as he himself was not authorized to issue it. The following day, I attempted to follow up via phone but received conflicting information regarding the manager's availability and was denied direct contact with a supervisor, despite being informed that a supervisor is the appropriate person to handle this matter. read more

This place im very upset with them , first of all im retired and live on a buget , so when they said 15.00 a month I was happy , turns out its its 15.00 every 2 weeks I was never told that plus I bought the plan which was 69.00 now this is a total scam all you get for 69 dollars is a trainer for 3 times that's it , but if I would have known that it was every 2 weeks I would have never signed up ,because I live on a pension check which only comes once a month totally disgusted with how business take advantage of people . read more

Andrew, the supposed Manager, was unprofessional. They owe me $62.50 but according to him, "Tru Fit is always right. It's your bank's fault." No, you're ripping people off and the reviews are showing just that! It's a terrible place. 1/3 of the machines are out of order. If they are working, the safety items are missing. Just moved to the area from Las Vegas and signed up for a 7-day trial at the University location yesterday who said we could try out all of the locations. The University location was not great so we came to this location, which seems to be nicer and cleaner however Juan wouldn't let us in to try it out because the manager (Alonzo?) doesn't honor the trial from the other location and won't allow us to get a trial here... after making us stand and wait for 20min. He said that we shouldn't need to try it because it's the same stuff. But for us, it's super important to get a feel for the crowd and the staff. We got a good feel for the staff, alright. Our family is looking to join the best gym in town. Guess we'll never know if this was it! read more

This places deserves 0 stars. It deserves to be shut down. This place has been sucking the blood of my savings and I have no way to contact them and make it stop. "We're currently busy" "We're currently on lunch" at 11am?!?! This employees of this gym give absolutely no care for the members, and let's not even mention the "managers" because i've been trying to get a hold of one and it's always the same excuse. As new people in town trying to find a nice and affordable gym, my husband and I wanted to get prices and details, we were told to put our information on a screen for check in; which btw wasn't working. But the worst part is not that, is the management and front desk staff Not professional at all and one of them (a young kid) was super rude talking back to my husband. The manager named Aranda was basically like talking to a ghost. She wasn't really acknowledging the situation. Literally, I have been to many trufit gyms I have always found it affordable. I have no problem with broken equipment or anything of the sort things happen. It's out of our control, but what I will not excuse is the horrible service and the fact that these people lie to you to get you to sign contracts for training for memberships for anything this is literally ruined my experience for TruFit in hole, I had called to cancel my Training and they stated no one was there to help me said they would take my number and call me back called again the following day still with no callback said that nobody was there would take my number and call back then I had to call back for a third day, and I asked to speak with the manager since I had been trying for three days at this point and my patience is wearing thin. The manager didn't even call me back. I went into the gym in person on the fifth day of wedding and asked to speak to the manager and they gave me the Fitness manager not the building manager for my training and said it couldn't be done because it wasn't canceled within the timeframe I had to work, and every time I had called nobody had reached out to me. Nobody had called me back and now they are taking about 100 for the next three months when I have not had a single training session, honestly, this gym deserves to be closed down for the way they have handled members how they trick them in for the fact that it's not even that functional this gym literally is the the worst read more

Before the pandemic started I frequented this gym back when lived in Texas due to its proximity to my house (walking distance). I should have canceled my membership long ago but it was just such an easy gym to go to. I moved out and left the state March 2020. Of course cancellation of my gym membership was one of the last items on my checklist so I didn't get around to it until late April. I was unable to get in contact with anyone at the time so I assumed they were closed due to Covid. Time passes and a good 4 or 5 months pass and they try to charge the yearly maintenance fee. At this point I hadn't even been in the state for almost half a year. I began to inquire and would constantly get transferred to a manager that was never there; always the same excuse: oh she left early, or she took a late lunch. I even had a family member back in Texas go in to try to cancel in my behalf to no avail. It got to the point I had to tell my bank to revoke the charges. When I finally got in contact with the manager (almost a full year later!) her only solution to the problem was for me to pay my dues plus hefty late fees even though I hadn't even been living in the state since the pandemic started. She said it was the only way to cancel the membership, and if I didn't pay they would send it to collections. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM. read more

I was traveling and in town just for the week and one weeks membership was 45 dollars. Needless to say, this is the worst gym experience I have ever had. They have tons of benches, two squat racks, and not enough plates! They said monthly membership is 100 dollars. I don't see how or why. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The cancellation confusion screwed us out of $700 and the customer service is by far the worst we've ever experienced. Women's locker room is always very dirty. Customer service is horrible from all staff. Can't say "goodbye" without the staff giving you either a fake smile or turn around. Being that I teach and develop managers to senior/general manager roles in organizations, I can say Kat, one of the general managers, has very horrible management skills. She gossips about people in the locker room or even at her desk. I have heard her and I'm sure other customers have too. Frank is probably the only member of management that actually cares for its customers and business. read more

Got lied to about the cost of personal training, I was told what I was paying that day was for the first payment just to be billed again 3 days later and was told it was for the personal training plus the first month. When I asked what I was billed for the first time they said it was for in house purchases which I never agreed to purchasing, I was told the Vitamins and Protein bars where for signing up. They aren't truthful about the actual upfront cost they are just trying to make the sale of Personal Training contracts. read more

I dropped in while on a business trip and they gave me a free 3 day pass. I'm very impressed with the amount of free weight equipment, machines, and cardio options available. Staff is friendly and the gym is clean. I'd have a membership here if I was a resident. read more
