I am a loyal Hilton member and have stayed at a few Tru locations. We needed a one night stay as we were driving through Nashville and chose this location over a few other Hilton hotels. I will just make that mistake again. As soon as we walked into the room, we were hit by a VERY strong scent - either a room deodorizer, cleaning product or a combination of both. The hotel was booked solid, so we could not switch rooms. In the bathroom, we noticed the trim in the shower was falling off and we tried to put it back in. The shower door dripped all over the floor and the shower gel was completely empty - we had called the front desk about it and never got any (luckily, we brought our own). The last thing hung was - there was never any coffee available - I didn't mind too much until the next morning (a Saturday) and at 7:15, there was no breakfast yet and no coffee to be found. Disappointing, however, we did stop down the road for coffee. I cannot recommend this location and next time we are needing to stop in the Nashville area, we will stay somewhere else. read more

I go down to Tennessee often to visit my daughter and typically stay in an inexpensive hotel since I just need a clean room with a bed without bugs and a hot shower after spending most of my time with my daughter. For some reason this hotel came up cheaper than my normal hotel across the street from Tru. I got a first floor room which I was happy about. There were no lights that I could find over the bed so if you need light while in bed you have to get up to turn it off. The room was tight and just odd. I was near the front desk and the noise was all night long. I saw one reviewer recommend bringing noise cancelling headphones. I totally agree since the noise is never ending, Kids screaming, crying, staff talking in the hall. Honestly I was disappointed read more

After 4 nights on the road in other Hilton properties, we decided to stay at a Tru This is not at all worth the price. Unless you have kids. The lobby area is full of arcade like and table games. The rooms at first site are very modern but tight. No coffee pot in room and sparse in room amenities. Take a noise cancelling machine because you literally hear everything happening in the rooms next door. Front desk staff struggled to get check in complete for everyone. Sorry Hilton, Tru isn't worth the try. read more

I stayed in 3 different hotels on my last Nashville trip, and Tru was by far the best! Rooms were smaller but very functional. Beds were very comfy and the A/C kept it nice and cool. Large walk in shower, small fridge, and plenty of places to hang clothes, bags, etc. My room was very quiet! The lobby was so colorful and inviting that I ended up taking my laptop out there and working, grabbed a snack and beer from the little stand behind the desk. Even had a pool table and patio! Very cool spot. Breakfast was just ok, typical hotel breakfast, but coffee was surprisingly decent! I will definitely stay at Tru hotels again. read more

We loved this hotel for a stop over night. It has easy access to the highway and incredibly, even a virtual check in process! So contactless and 2020! The rooms aren't large but they are very contemporary and functional. Our son loved the little desk on wheels that he could position so he could use his computer and watch the TV with ease. They have even found a way to still provide breakfast with as little contact as possible. I had a great breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon. Most importantly dog friendly too! Our little pooch had good night's sleep and even got some treats from the front desk. read more

Stayed here over the Christmas weekend for a couple of nights. This hotel (and the Home2 Suites in the same building) appear to be new properties in an area of Smyrna that is being built up rapidly. I found the hotel and the room itself to be very clean. The room was very nice, was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. I loved the hot standing shower and the free breakfast every morning (and as a non-breakfast person that says a lot). They don't have tons of items available for breakfast but they do have the basics (pancakes, sausage, cereal and juices) which is good enough for me. Parking is free and plentiful, which is truly appreciated. The only reason why I'm deducting a star is that on the afternoon of check-in, there was no one at either desk, money was left on the counter and the lobby was all but deserted - except for one other guest that was waiting to be helped. We stood there for several minutes before someone appeared. Shouldn't there be someone at the front desk at all times? Other than that little hiccup, everything was good here and I'll be back. read more

Tru by Hilton hasn't forgot a thing. From the sleek lobby with everything at arms reach to the entertainment areas in the lobby to keep the kids busy. They have locked charging stations for your phone, mini convenient store for your cravings and reading material to get your day started. There are nice comfortable couches strategically placed throughout the lobby for privacy or large gatherings. The furnishings are colorful with a fresh look and modern decor. The rooms are spacious and very clean! To top it all off, the view is lovely as well! read more

Loved the aesthetic of the hotel and the staff!! Did NOT like the fact that there was so much noise that could be heard from the rooms next door. Not sure if the walls are just really thin (seemed that way) or they were just REALLY loud.The breakfast was amazing but trying to get any sleep at any point of the day was non-existent as the "neighbors" weren't very courteous. Clean. Cute. Simple. Modern. Nice staff. Free breakfast. What more can you ask for in a hotel? We arrived at 7 am on a Friday and they had a room ready for us. They also let us know we could partake in breakfast since we drove all night. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. Staff was super nice!! Although the room was small, everything else made up for it. Did find 2 random caterpillars in the bathroom. And 1 outside in the hallway but it didn't bother us. I liked the soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Dang, no more taking extra home since they are in dispensers. LOL. I went to check out the exercise area and it was clean and had towels. There was an ice machine and filtered water machine which was great. Bring your own tumbler so you don't have to buy one or use their little disposable ones. Wish I had time for the pool. It's a bit small but it's ok. Loved that they had outdoor patios to hang out. I even saw bbq grills. Breakfast was good. The bacon jam was so gooood!!! I need to find that. The cranberry juice was watered down but apple juice good. There's no coffee machine in your room but they have coffee outside in lobby to enjoy. The waffle boat was a nice touch! You can stuff it with whatever you want. Oh and there are two breakfast areas!! Check it out. I would totally stay here again. read more

I've stayed here before and thought the hotel was nice. Currently checked in and not so much. The room is so dirty. There's spots all over the walls. The shower was dirty and floor was sticky. The hotel is at capacity and not able to switch rooms. If there's ever a slow time with reservations please deep clean the rooms. read more

I am still 50/50 on staying at a Tru as it is truly different. What bothered me the most concerning this location is that the walls between the bathrooms are extremely thin. You can hear everything in the connecting bathroom which means they can hear everything. The room echos a little due to the flooring and high ceiling and the king bedroom is a little smaller than I enjoy. At the price, is would probably stay at another Hilton Brand Hotel. I chose this hotel due to location and price, but for the money, I am just not "sold" on Tru. I believe I have stayed at a Tru, twice and I will give it another try. I do enjoy the digital key!! read more

Here for a week, kind of felt like I was staying in a hospital. Bare floors, everything bolted to the wall. room had two beds and a very narrow useless counter stuck to the wall. No desk but a small rolling side table with a kitchen-type chair too low for the table so impossible to work at. No coffee or kettle in the room.. Small fridge, no microwave. No closet. Squeeze soap bolted to the wall left a constant puddle of soapy water on the bathroom counter. Free coffee and breakfast downstairs is worthless. You get what you pay for lol. Not the greatest location. Hotels on the other side of the freeway are closer to stores and restaurants. read more

Easy check in, great bathroom/shower including great soap/shampoo dispensers mounted in shower( the lemon body wash was divine!!). Chose this hotel because it was not directly off the highway, so we wouldn't have to listen to trucks driving by all night. Upside is there is no traffic noise. Very minimalist- no closet, just hooks. Pillows are old and junky. The lights are controlled by two different switches, so if they worked properly you could switch off the lights above your bed from the switch by the bed, but they don't work so you have to get up and walk back to the door- maybe it's just this room? I thought the modern vibe would feel clean and cool, but it just feels cheap. Will go elsewhere next time. read more

I called to make a reservation and had a problem with the pricing. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager that I spoke to was extremely rude. He kept talking over me and interrupting me. He said if I didn't like it, I didn't have to stay there. He wasn't losing a customer he said since I hadn't stayed there yet anyway, he wasn't concerned. Then, he hung up on me. This is different. I don't think Hilton has it right. Looking for hip crowd. Parents with little kids, my age group (60s) in abundance. But it didn't live up to my expectations. 4 day/5 night starting Feb. 19. The rooms are small. We got quite good at moving to get by each other, reaching into cubby holes for things. If sitting on beds, knees touch. Beds are great - comfortable and not too high or law. Choice of pillows. Possibly the stupidous things is have unmarked outlets on a switch which lead to the clock to be wrong. Stupid #2 - can't reset clock; maintenance has to be called! Bright side - Ray the maintenance guy is a real gem. So the second day, housekeeping didn't touch the room. Called front desk, some new policy? No just error. Next day beds made, trash emptied, floors untouched. Fourth day, room again untouched. Okay, it's new, BUT opened in December. Isn't that time enough to get organized?? Shares with suites hotel down the hall. Shares staff, laundry, etc. Can eat breakfast on either or both sides! Maybe that has something to do with problems. Tru has no portico. Arrived in downpour. Use the other sides portico - works great but further to room. Upshot - if the rate was significantly lower than others, I'd use a Tru again. But cancelled the reservation at the next destination and stayed elsewhere. Make up your own mind, try it or skip it - maybe they'll get it together. Hotel Impossible TV host stressed checklists. my mother and i needed a room for the night and upon arriving there was a bad smell that we figured was just from construction in the lobby. the woman who helped us check in was rude but that's not the bad part. we arrived in our room and it had a musky smell. i go to use the restroom before getting dinner for the night (about 5 minutes after we arrived in the room. i looked up at the ceiling in the bathroom due to the musky smell and find that it is COVERED in black mold spores. nearly the entire ceiling was covered. the shower also had the mold growing in it as well as all over the air vent. after that my mom calls the front desk and explains the situation and the lady apologized and told us she would come up to the room and get us moved to a different one. before leaving our original room i find that the floor had not even been swept and the pillows were dirty. after getting to our second room the lady tells us that she personally checked the new room for us to make sure it was clean, saying that she specifically checked the bathroom. after we put our bags down i start checking this room as well because of the musky smell again. the shower floor has black stuff on it (either dirt from someone's feet or more mold) and all of the edges in the shower have mold growing in them. the baseboards in the room were also growing mold. i check the pillows and find mascara and hair on one of them. i pull down the sheets and find hair in the bed as well. so once again we are given a room that is not properly cleaned. we call again and the lady has an attitude with my mom and blames it on housekeeping saying "it's so hard to find good help these days" (her exact words). i found that extremely rude because if i had to guess, they're not getting paid adequately and that's why they take shortcuts. whatever the matter is, i was extremely disappointed in the entire experience. this was not the quality of a hilton hotel. read more
