We did pickup order via DoorDash and smoothies were great as usual. My only issue was it seemed only one girl was making all the food & smoothies and I could see a girl in a purple tshirt sitting and playing on her phone in the back. Why not help?!? Finally another girl came out from the back and took orders. The shop was very hot due to no AC and it needed a good sweep as trash and straw wrappers were on the floor and tables. I walked into tropical smoothie yesterday. There were 3 girls working. While I was waiting to be helped there was this other random person not in uniform really long hair going back and forth behind the counter chatting with these girls and being loud whoever she was talking on the phone with. I waited 15 mins to be helped when they were standing on their phones and chatting in the back and one girl who was standing at the register whole punching paper everywhere. In those 15 mins 3 customers left. Someone cut in front of me. After that I spoke up and asked if I could get my order taken. She said I thought you were here for pick up because of the sign that was tucked in a shelf against the wall. I told her "I been coming to this tropical smoothie for years you didn't even smile or look at me when I tried to make eye contact or say "hey welcome to tropical smoothie how can I help you" your there whole punching paper while there is 3 girls in the back to make one smoothie. My thing is wouldn't it show on the back board if there was an order for pickup.Which is ridiculous" Wouldn't you guys be making it not standing around if I was picking up something. And I wouldn't be standing there with money out ready to pay because most pick up stuff is online if I was picking up. She took my order and said I got a fake receipt when my card got approved. So they charged my card twice. So I asked for a manager. The shift lead came out and I said I don't want to speak to a kid I want to speak to an adult an owner or a manager. And she kept asking how she can help me and I told her 4 times. She didn't do anything. So I asked her to call her manager. They said they're not allowed to call their manager. They're never around. Which I think is false. What if there's an issue. But you can talk to your friends in the back and call your friends and chat in the back on your phone but can't call your manager at the business you work at. Then I asked if they can put the left over smoothie in a paper cup for my son and the girl said sure. And that didn't come out right so I asked where is the smaller cup. The shift lead said no you don't get it because of the way you're acting. And the other girl said well I was going to do that personally. When do you go to a business and only get half your order, charged twice for it, no manger and treated different? I thought employees of a business are supposed to treat all the customers equally with the same customer service. I got what I ordered. And as I was leaving the girls said. "Bye bitch" "love you" "drink your fucking smoothie we didn't want you here anyway" as I went out to the car the two people who did order things walked out and were saying that the girls were rude as well. So between when I was in there and coming out people did not wanna come back or left. Customer service is horrible. I ordered 2 smoothies and they both very watered down. I took them back to be remade and the 2nd ones were even worse. I went back in for a refund and another customer was in front returning his 3 smoothies for the same reason. When I spoke owner Richard about my refund he seemed very confused with my receipt like I didn't actually purchase my smoothies, it was really weird. So after me asking the owner what was so confusing about my receipt he proceeded to give my $6 back and shut the drawer so I asked his why would he think it was ok for him not to refund me the taxes if I paid them? My friend and I were sitting in the parking lot and the owner came out to scare us by approaching the car and asking us to leave whilst minding our business off of the property line to Trop. We are underage and told him we meant no trouble by being there, when he began to get closer to the car and curse us out, we were concerned for our safety. Tropical Smoothie is a great, quick, healthy lunch option. Plenty of choices to eat: wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, or salads. I am a big fan of the wraps because they are toasted. Melted cheese, warm chicken in a crisp wrap .. yumm. Also, you can't go wrong with the smoothies. They are huge and with so many different options you are guaranteed to find one that you'll start craving daily. This Tropical Smoothie off Lititz Pike is clean and very well run. I have never had to wait long in line or for my food. Chipotle chicken club, very good. Thai chicken salad, excellent. The restaurant seemed pretty clean. Front end service, indifferent. Likely due to them all being teenagers and millennials. Ordered my sandwich with no tomatoes, came out with tomatoes. No big deal. The robots in the back are programmed to do what they do without reading the order ticket. Music is too loud (and it's country pop, so that really sucks) Daughter reports the bathroom is clean. Some tables with seat backs, some highboy tables. This isn't a large place. Smoothies are never consistent and uninterested staff. I walked in at 8:30 and all the tables and chairs were upside down with no where to sit. Took a while to get my order and overall the employees seemed more focused on leaving for the night rather than friendliness. The lady who took my order was nice- thank you for that. So it's been a rough few months for everyone. Let me start off by saying I LOVE LOVE LOVE their smoothies and the flatbread chicken bacon ranch sandwich is my fav. Today, in the middle of all of this Covid madness I made an online order for curbside pickup. I ordered way ahead of when I planned to pick up because I figured they would be overwhelmed. I was right. When I got there I waited about 15 minutes in my car until I got my smoothie, and had yet to get my sandwich. Getting increasingly frustrated but not wanting to make their day worse I decided to wait inside. I waited and waited and waited. Eventually, at the suggestion of a "co-waiter", I checked some bags on the counter. One of them had my receipt attached....and my missing sandwich. It had been there the whole time, waiting for someone to carry it out to my care. I had waited over a half hour. I calmed myself down and try to point out their mistake. I apologized for how their day was probably going, and that I understood, but wanted to point it out so someone else's order wouldn't be missed. Bottom line, they gave me some coupons and I was on my way. It was terrible service. But during this pandemic, with how understaffed and overwhelmed they were...no one was rude, no one was cursing (Lord knows I would've been) and the food was still GREAT!!!
