Another big determining factor was that they're very gluten free friendly and items are marked on the menu (gluten free or can be made gluten free). They also have non-alcoholic options if you or anyone in your party does not imbibe. We made a same day reservation for a party of 4 for a Saturday night dinner. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. The dining area was pretty small and it was almost full at 8 PM. They do have tables outside when the weather allows, and a bar, so that could be an option if you can't book a table inside. What we ordered, and our thoughts: Drinks: Cherry Spritzer (NA) , French 75 Food: Salmon , Blackened Tuna , Niçoise Salad with Blackened Tuna , Caesar Salad with Anchovies , Clam Chowder I would get the Niçoise Salad with the Salmon because it's much easier to break down with a fork to eat. The bathroom was clean and spacious, too. :)

My husband and I came in on a whim, and given that it was a Friday night we got very lucky being able to snag two seats at the bar. I love bar seating honestly, especially where bartenders are friendly, as they were. These guys knew what they were doing too, because they wiped up our craft cocktails in a flash. Moxie is kind of known for their martinis, and have a whole section on their menu for them, so naturally that's what I gravitated towards. I can't recall the name of the one I chose, but essentially it was Hendrick Gin, cucumber, and mint. So refreshing. My husband had a bourbon cocktail of sorts and really enjoyed it too. We weren't in the mood for full-dinner so instead shared the short rib medallions from the apps list. Those were tasty! Perfectly cooked braised short rib on top polenta medallions with bourbon-marinated peaches and cambozola cheese... what's not to love? We also had the caesar salad with chicken, which was crispy and hit the spot. Plan to spend a decent amount of $$ dining here, but you get what you pay for. All in all, a nice night!

The food menu is extensive (however definitely more of a breakfast/brunch place), I do wish they had more enticing lunch options. We did have an issue finding a table this time - it's been so cold and I think everyone and their mother was a stone creek to get out and do something. Luckily we were able to find a bar seat! I was impressed with the staff's patience as I asked multiple questions about the baked goods. I ended up order a seasonal drink (based on the glowing review of another Yelper)- almond spiced pear latte and a banana bread. Both of which were excellent! The spice was not overwhelming and the overall flavor was very comforting. While my order came thru, I was able to notice the decor. There is such an attention to detail and cute fixtures to notice throughout the space. I was also happy to notice the water station that included both still and sparkling! Our waitress gave us some crisp bread for the table and a sesame roll which was my favorite and rye bread. The old fashioned was delicious. You get the option of soup or salad. I opted for the clam chowder and my goodness it was delicious. One of the best i have ever had i ate the whole thing with the sesame roll. I ordered broiled cod with potato pancakes however i think i was given walleye instead. I still ate it. It was absolutely delicious. The potato pancakes were perfection with applesauce. Definitely will be back and hopefully i can have the broiled cod next time. The regular fried fish is also delicious. Definitely a lot of locals here. This is easily my new favorite spot for fish fry. Fantastic service. Will be returning.

Elise, our waitress, was upbeat, funny and gave us great suggestions. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and they were served nice and hot, which automatically made the food better than my last visit. For dinner, I ordered the Broiled Whitefish with Honey Balsamic Glazed Brussel Sprouts. While the fish itself didn't have much flavor, it too was served nice and hot, and the tartar sauce made a difference. The Sprouts were tender, and the glaze very good. We had a 7:00 dinner reservation on a Friday during Lent, and the place was packed. Reservations are highly recommended! Seating here is very tight, so be prepared for a tight fit.

Date of visit: November 20, 2025…read more We had not been here in years, but came with some friends for the Milwaukee County Historical Society trivia. It definitely seemed that the staff here were simply not prepared for the volume of people that came out to celebrate the area and support the Historical Society. Emma, our server, was definitely trying, but not always succeeding, neglecting to enter in some parts of the order until far later into the evening (our friends didn't receive their order of garlic bread for about 45 minutes after their entrees were delivered) though oddly enough, she was always ready to bring someone another alcoholic beverage. Thankfully the food I had was pretty good, the grilled cheese sandwich paired well with their tomato bisque soup--I took a chance on the soup not being a traditional tomato soup fan (Campbell's? Gross!) but I found Three Lions version to be hearty and flavorful, definitely a combo that I would get again in the future. I would just come on a night when they could keep up with the crowds far better! Pro tip: Ask for croutons for the soup, they elevated a good soup to an amazing soup.

The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, whether you're stopping in for a pint, a match, or a full meal. Service has always been friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. It feels like a true neighborhood pub rather than a themed bar, which is exactly why it stands out. Great place to relax, watch soccer, and actually enjoy the experience.

Date of visit: April 26, 2026…read more Another place that has seemingly been around forever, but I didn't get a chance to visit until my days in Milwaukee were numbered! We came on a Sunday before they officially started serving breakfast and just had pastries available, but we were getting together with some friends for our monthly coffee date and didn't need a whole meal necessarily. The selection was a bit more limited than I would have expected from a boulangerie, but the cinnamon roll was very good (probably would have been better if it had been warmed up but that was not offered). And the cookies that we brought home (chocolate chip and gingersnap) were also very good. I also tried a bite of my husband's quiche and it was very good--definitely made in-house! The almond croissant had a generous amount of almond paste in it, and was quite sizable, too.

The sandwiches come with a salad or potatoes. I had the salad and it was a nice array of fresh vegetables with a vinaigrette. The cheese was maybe not as all the way melted as I expected but it was still a nice treat. I couldn't resist getting the lemon cake for dessert. They had a strawberry shortcake that day too. Service was attentive and they kept my coffee cup filled. I should come here more often for weekend brunch.

We ordered our lunches, a wrap and salmon salad. It took quite a while to get our lunches. There was a large party dining at the same time, so maybe that was the reason, but my friend had to get back to work and was getting a bit anxious. She said that her wrap was good. But my salmon salad was amazing! It had a perfectly cooked plant of salmon, with fresh spinach leaves, segments of orange and grapefruit, diced beats and a delicious horseradish dressing. It was served in a bowl, nothing to look at , but so tasty. It think serving it on a plate would have shown off the ingredients better. We had to wait a bit to get our check, too. If you don't have much time, I wouldn't recommend, but if you have time, please try The Bay. (A third member of our party had to leave after ordering her wrap due to a family emergency. The wait time wasn't too bad. We wondered when we'd get our shake, but appears it is served with the food. Three people in our party asked and finally she responded. In addition, at the same time I got the shake my daughter asked for a straw for her water and ended up giving me hers because I did not get one with my shake. Last, I asked for mayo and was charged $1.03 for it (as noted on my receipt) but this was given to someone else in our party. We ordered the Sassy Burger with fries (no mushrooms or onions), Chicken Tender Plate includes fries, Super Super Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake and last a Cheeseburger with fries. Appears the prices on the menu at not up to date because they do not match the receipt (the Super Super is about $2.50 more than what the menu says and the Sassy even without two items on it was $2.00 more). In addition, if this is because the cost for using a card there should not be a cost such as this as if I am not mistaken the business is supposed to absorb the cost. Just a bit confused about this now that I pulled out the receipt to confirm what everyone ordered. This should certainly be discussed when ordering. Nonetheless, my meal was amazing. Mine was the Super Super Bacon Cheeseburger.
