The chia banana boost smoothie I had here was decent but expensive at over nine bucks after tax. It was also too big, they told me the smoothies only come in one size but I noticed after I bought the smoothie that they have a kids size available in a few limited flavors that's not really that small at 12 ounces. Only been in the store once, but it's a very bright welcoming atmosphere, super tropical style. The wait was really long in-person, they were understaffed; but the two individuals behind the counter were still very polite. I suggest ordering online, our smoothies were still super chilled and fresh when delivered. I love getting the antioxidant boost in mine! read more

I love smoothies and I wish I had visited this place sooner! They're at the corner of College and Laurel and have a cute little colorful space. Good variety of smoothies are offered, but I went with the Totally Green smoothie which only cost me about $5.50 total with tax I think. Anyways, tasty smoothie and it was a good size. They also have some food items available. I'm a Jamba Juice fan myself, mostly because I've lived in Hawaii and California. Fort Collins unfortunately doesn't have Jamba, and I think there's only 1 other smoothie place that I've really seen/visited. This place is a bit cheaper than Jamba and the other smoothie place, and has different smoothie options, but they're still really tasty. I love the smoothies always but their quality in the food has really gone down. The flat breads used to be bigger and better and the quesadillas too. I received the flattest quesadilla today ever. I also used their deliver option and was very upset my smoothies were delivered but none of the food items i had gotten so i had to go pick them up myself. So i paid for a delivery fee and tipped the driver for what? Because i had to go pick it up myself anyway and by the time i got to it all of it was cold too. very upset this time. Tropical Smoothie doesn't get better than this! 3rd one I visited and easily surpassed my love for it from years ago. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and a Peanut Paradise smoothie with whey protein (I forgot my chips and the kind woman even reminded me). The smoothie was delicious and had a great consistency that wasn't tough to get through the straw. The lettuce in the wrap was crunchy and the ranch/buffalo ratio was on point! Asked if they could accommodate using reusable cups, the manager came out of the back and snapped at us saying "what do you want?" We referenced how last time one of the employees gave us a cup to drink out of there and then re wash. She told us how that person was wrong and then kept nagging over and over the same story about how it wasn't possible. I'm the customer, businesses stay healthy by communicating with their customers and trying to give them what they want, not by lecturing them. I was thinking about transferring from CU to CSU, and I'll admit that Tropical Smoothie Cafe was on my pro for CSU list. Average quality, good large sizes but overpriced $$$. If you're looking for just a small smoothie to tie you over, there aren't any small sizes. Everything is reasonably priced and while the food options are somewhat limited, I haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed! At one point they offered tacos which were delicious and perfect for lunch, I'd love to see that come back as an offering. I usually stick to the acai berry smoothie (comes only in 24 oz size). I guess the only other sticking point is that I wish there was a 16 oz size cup. read more

I had a great experience ordering a large to-go meal for my team that was in town playing at CSU. We pre-ordered about 30 meals and smoothies from this location, and everything was delivered on time and was delicious for our team! The owner was really helpful and responsive helping with our order. If we get the chance to come back to CSU we will definitely order from here again! read more

I'm sure this place is normally great, but if you are going to provide a service to order online for pickup and you require a phone number explicitly for calling the customer if they run out of an ingredient, than you should probably call if you run out an ingredient. That said, I added a 2nd star bc an employee added an extra ingredient to try to make up for it. read more

The food is delicious!!! The management needs improvement. When I had a problem placing an online order I had a question. So, I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager. She said she did not know how to help me because she did not know how to operate the website to fix the problem I was having. When I arrived to pick up the food order, I had to go back and forth to my car to carry the large order and no one ever offered to help me (the restaurant was not busy). Then, when we picked up our large food order, I noticed that we were missing five sides. I was already across town and could not return. When I called to let her (the manager) know that we were missing the sides, she said, "I am not sure what I can do for you. I will have to call the owner and get back to you on that."...never heard back. As a manager, she should know the "ins and outs" of the business, to include the two issues I had yesterday. I would strongly encourage better training to provide better customer service. Hopefully this Yelp review will provide that. :) read more

This place has pretty good smoothies but I hate how they employees peer Over the cash register to watch me sign the credit card slip. Then the employee enters the tip amount into the computer BEFORE they start making my smoothie. Almost like they are waiting to see how much tip I give.
