It was fun to get back to Lefferts after so many years. The A train is dreary but fast. I have no new food insights; the doubles remain awesome, with an idea ratio of sweet and spicy. But I'm writing to suggest that years-old service gripes here shouldn't be a factor. The workers were great with me and with another customer who had more complex inquiries than my doubles-only order.

Hassar curry (fish curry) second time having this dish and it did not disappoint. To be able to buy this dish from a restaurant is a treat because most people cooks this at home. Hard to cook this when cooking for one. Dish also comes with a boiled egg. It's really a treat and considered a delicacy in Guyana.

I bought some things and it's amazing what their selling to customers. The only reason I stop here it's close to the train I don't live in queens.first of all customer service it's very poor,of all the things I bought only the caramel was fresh Eggball had shells and no sour Cakes was spoiled Hassar curry was not-fresh Cassava pone was not-fresh I wouldn't recommend this place to no one,and would never go back. There's a better spot just 1 minutes away on the same street.

    Every piece of meat was pink. I couldn't eat it . . . . . . This was just unacceptable . . . ..............

For typical good Guyanese food, just like they cook in Guyana. If you love spicy and Caribbean you'll love this place.

The shop is steady busy with takeout orders and the occasional folks (like me) who wanted to sit and enjoy my first doubles there. They only have two tables and chairs. Most people order to go. You may order at the kiosk and wait for your number to be called when it is ready to pick up. The kiosk is good because it easily shows all the sauces you may add to your doubles and the variety of other things like drinks, etc you may order. There is also the option to get in line and place your oder. You can watch the assembly line of workers quickly making food. Then check out with the cashier. They sell lots of different cakes, breads, nuts, and drinks too. I was a little overwhelmed on what to order, but a nice employee helped me out. I showed him what I was trying to order and asked for suggestions. Thanks to him I had the best doubles! Added tamarind sauce, mango chutney, and the benny sauce. The perfect vegetarian meal for $2.50! It is made of roti (flatbread), curried chickpeas, and topped with the sauces. Then rolled up to make a sandwich. So flavorful! I wasn't too sure which drink to get as I wasn't sure what they all tasted like. Chose the Seamoss drink, which is a mix of milk, seams, nutmeg, and some spices. Milky and not overly sweet. This was good. Maybe next time I'll get sorrel, which is hibiscus. They said the peanut drink is good too. Ordered Pholourie with tamarind sauce. These are fried savory dough balls. I couldn't resist getting a sweet treat. So, I randomly picked the salara bread, which looks like a cinnamon swirl bread slice. It is actually stuffed with shredded coconut that is colored red and tastes like cherry. Pretty good and not overly sweet. Definitely add this place to your list of eats in Queens. It is a trek from the city, but so good! Also, nice that it is a little bit away from the loud busy part of Liberty Ave in Richmond Hill. This is about a 15-20 min walk from there on Lefferts Blvd. Restroom available.

Every bite was full of flavor, and the meat practically fell off the bone. The doubles were just as impressive. The bara was soft and fresh, the channa was perfectly seasoned, and the tamarind and pepper sauces brought everything together with the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the flavors taste just like homemade Trini cooking. Whether you're a longtime fan of Trinidadian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Trinciti delivers every time. Highly recommended!

July 25, 2026 BEWARE…read moreOF WHAT YOU BUY HERE. If it looks hard, it's hard. If it looks dry, it's dry. Sad experience. The Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice is literally served in a brown bag. My sister, brother, and I were driving down Rockaway Blvd. in Queens when I spotted this Caribbean restaurant called Simply Caribbean. They had an A in the window, and the food pictures looked very good, but they were very deceiving. My sister went inside before me while I sat in the car looking up their reviews on Yelp. They had good reviews for the Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice. I went inside and saw the food sitting out, and it looked both undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Against my better judgment, we should have just left, but my brother placed his order for salmon. He said it was overcooked, so it was dry. My sister ordered rice and peas, which were way too spicy for her to eat, along with her hockey puck oxtails that were hard as a rock. She took a few bites, couldn't eat it, and threw her food in the garbage. I ordered the Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice. The server said it's like Chinese-style fried rice, so I thought I was going to get chicken throughout the rice--not what I received. I got four cut-up, dry pieces of chicken sitting on top of a whole brown bag of rice with shredded, dry cabbage on top for decoration. The brown bag rice had good flavor, but the presentation and the dry chicken were not for me. I was like, what kind of food is this? I called them to make a complaint. They transferred me to the cook, and I told him about the experience I was having. He said, "Next time..." I stopped him right in his tracks and said, "I won't be coming back here, but I will alert people to the fact that you, as a cook, don't taste your own food that you're selling." First time and last time coming here. You try to support local businesses, and this is how they support their community. SHAMEFUL.
