Bigoted Staff Members…read more.. My loved one, who was a patient here, was ejected from this facility before the scheduled end of her treatment because of her gender. (She's a trans woman on hormones.) Evidently the parent of another patient complained that there was a "man" at the facility with their daughter. My friend was a good patient--She treated the staff members and other patients with respect and did not cause trouble. This is discrimination. I should also add that I am a trans person myself and was informed that the staff deadnamed me when letting my friend know I was there to see her, even though I made it clear upon check-in that I use a preferred name, and that my friend does not know my deadname. (Well, now I guess she does, so thanks for that Renfrew Center.)
