Oh how fun! A pink tribute to a cherished drag performer. The Barbara Bar was a nice place to rest and gab in an unusual location. The bites are funnily named - e.g. "Cigarette Mom Onion Dip" - everyone knows exactly what they're getting with that. The Trixie Motel signature cocktail was delicious. And visit the powder room - so many Trixies watching you pee. A hoot.

I was in the neighborhood and I'm a fan, so I thought I'd at least get a "Cynthia C. has checked in at Trixie Motel". But when I started looking around outside, a lovely young lady who works in the gift shop invited me in for a peruse of the public areas. Some people were enjoying the pool and many whimsical pool float options on this beautiful and warm Palm Springs October day, but I didn't grab pics because that seemed intrusive. Didn't want to spoil the fun they were obviously enjoying. The gift shop was small but just what you think when you think Trixie - Barbie Pink accents, and loads of dolls! Plenty of fun makeup from Trixie's line, some requisite logo wear, retro keychains, stickers and other fun and frilly items. We discovered they offer day passes for the pool and have a restaurant with HH specials and food. I really appreciate the way this site is constructed for maximum privacy, but also appreciated that we were welcomed in to look around and hear about some features. For just a pass-by experience it made me want to return and try out the lounge and some COCKtails by the pool. I shall return. Cheers! "CC"

While we were in town, Trixie Motel was the only thing on my partner's to-do list. I am not familiar with this scene, but I'm pleased to report that Trixie Motel is fun for fans and laypersons alike. It's nestled behind a pink gate, and you have to ring the doorbell to get in. We were escorted into the Barbara Bar for our reservation, and we took some time to take in the vintage and midcentury accents. Everything. is. pink. I love a good themed bar, and the limited seating makes this feel exclusive, like stepping into a celebrity estate owned by Barbie. The menu is fun, and there were a lot of drinks we wanted to try. My partner had a great time laughing at / trying to explain the in-jokes to me. My understanding is that the drinks are all themed to the different room themes, but we were only there for the bar. The service was very friendly and accommodating. They understand the bar's marketing appeal and were happy to take pictures for us. We were escorted to the gift shop to check that out, and later on there was a massive party, so it's probably advisable to go early. Make sure you schedule a reservation beforehand!

So cute!!! Loved the decor, loved the pink! Drinks were good. Worth a pit stop! Entrance is on the side street- there's a door with a ring camera/doorbell!

My wife and I stopped by here for an afternoon drink in the bar. It truly is a one-of-a-kind place. Hot pink everything, retro design everywhere. The ambiance of the bar and the hotel was the star of our visit here. We kept staring at the over-the-top design features like a pink Christmas tree, heart-shaped upholstery, and photos of the owner, Trixie Mattel. The Beachwood Hayabusa Lager was chilled, excellent and refreshing. For an unusual and fun stop and a chill place to hang out, this is certainly a very good option.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in the Oh Honeymoon suite and had a fun time! The room was very clean. The rooms here don't have TVs, but instead feature record players. The front desk has vinyl records you can borrow while you stay. We had some wonderful drinks and tasty pizza at the Barbara Lounge with a couple of local friends we invited over. We didn't go swimming, but the pool looked nice and clean. The whole place has a great and fun atmosphere. You can tell it was thoughtfully remodeled into the space it is today.

We came for drinks and loved it! Only fits a limited amount of people so it's a relaxed atmosphere. Cute drinks and apps

It was a cute little place we stopped at and wanted to have a drink. They had to put us on the list but got us right in. The service was good and it was really cute inside. The food and drinks were all themed with the motel, but it wasn't anything to write home about. The drinks were very cute, but they were super expensive and they weren't that great. We did however enjoy our experience there and it was super cute place if you want to go somewhere very unique in Palm Springs.

I've made it my personal mission to come to Trixie Motel once a year and get to experience all uniquely gorgeous rooms. So far we've had the absolute joy of staying at the Queen of Hearts and the Oh Honeymoon suite, each above reproach in upkeep, comfort, and vibe. The location is ideal--tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood, the motel provides a dreamy vacation feel with a lovely view of the mountains, and it's a quick drive (or a leisurely walk) from main street/restaurants/nightlife. The (salt water!!) pool is immaculate. The pink is pinking. The gift shop features a display of Trixie's vintage Barbie dolls, a trademark wig, and her RPDR crown. There's a selection of records to bring and listen to in your room, and you can test and pick something from her cosmetics line (the Dollface cream blush slays). The lobby/bar/patio area is glamorous yet cozy, and picture perfect of course. Everything smells good (oddly enough, that's a thing). Breakfast and coffee are available (in cute little baskets) daily. No TVs in the rooms (because that's not the Madonna Inn, lol). The motel is 21 and up (as it should) and no pets (for obvious reasons). The AC works hard (though slightly noisy at times, which didn't bother me). Same for water pressure (older buildings can be disappointing in that regard, but no issues here). The double shower in the Oh Honeymoon is *chef's kiss*. The hospitality members are on top of it without being intrusive (or snooty). We were delayed by traffic last time; I called the reception to give them an ETA heads up for a late check in (past 10PM). They were chill and graciously understanding on the phone--and throughout the rest of our stay--whether it had to do with drink service, extra towels, etc. (we're not demanding, but it's wonderful to see that the staff actually wants to be there, and happy to help). A special shout out to Christian who, in addition to being professional and accommodating, is genuinely kind. Thank you for making us feel welcome and treating us with care, respect, and SO. MUCH. ZESTY. HUMOR. The only thing that could possibly make the experience better is to run into Trixie herself, but her presence there is palpable either way (Just one tiny note: being a million degrees in PS, the metal gate door knob heats up to the temperature of the Sun's surface. I'd personally never, but someone might decide to give you guys a hard time about it...)

We had a wonderful stay at Trixie. Loved the intimate courtyard and throwback vibes of an earlier time. Rooms were adorable and the sweet bar aka the snack room was just perfect.

On Thanksgiving 2025, we gobbled up the competition, one cocktail at a time at Trixie Motel's Barbara Lounge. Our Bartender was fabulous! The drinks were top notch and the full ambiance was absolutely amazing. Definitely making this a must every time I visit Palm Springs.

This is a beautifully unique & magical, boutique motel in the of Palm Springs. If you are looking into this hotel, it is very likely you know of the famous drag queen, Trixie Mattel...and/or have seen the HBO Series "Trixie Motel" where David Silver & Trixie transform a dilapidated motel into a fascinating, high spirited, magnificently curated, properly staffed and obviously, very LGBTQ+ friendly. We recommend watching (or rewatching) the HBO Series, prior to your stay, so that you can see the magnificent transformation of the property. We booked a 4 night stay in The Pink Flamingo Suite to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary from August 5-9, 2025. The room, pool & entire property met or exceeded our expectations. The staff is so kind & friendly, and are so much knowledgeable about the motel details, as well as local restaurants, bars & entertainment. Angel & Laura in the main office/gift shop, and Shaun & Christian in the Barbara Lounge, were all so kind, informative and helpful, that we felt like we made new friends for life. The entire staff was amazing in this way, but we didn't have the opportunity to interact with everyone. We did not want to leave at the end of our stay. Our mattress was the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on, to the point that we had to get info from the staff. They were obviously very sweet and upfront about any information we wanted to know. Additionally, the pressure of the shower head was top notch & very relaxing. Are there minor flaws? Of course, but that's going to come with any sort of renovation project, but they are so minor, most people wouldn't even notice. If you want to nitpick & point out those minor imperfections, that would be like coming into my home and pointing out the flaws to my home renovations. Nitpicking reviews are not appealing to most anyway. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR A WONDERFUL GETAWAY IN PALM SPRINGS, especially if you part of the LGBTQ+ Community. A completely safe space for you to be who you truly are (within reason), and not be judged or meet any resistance. A 15 outta 10 experience!

FIVE STARS! As a huge pink lover this place did not disappoint! We came to have a drink at the Barbara Bar. I was a kid in a candy store. PINK GALORE! We were greeted by a lovely woman and led us into the gift shop first. She was so pleasant to talk to. Then she walked us to the bar. Friendly bartender. Ordered our drinks and a snack. Loved the vibe. The pink. Everything!

Ask the Community - Trixie Motel

What are the hours of that bar/lounge?

Hello! Is the hotel bar exclusive to guests only?

It is not! Anyone can visit the gift shop and the lounge to have drinks and bites.

I see rooms sleep two people, can three people stay in one room? Or is there a motel policy In place where no more than three can be in a room?

I believe three can stay in a room however, I’m not sure if they charge extra for a bed or if they just charge extra for the extra person you’d have to actually get a hold of the motel for that.

Is it true that none of the rooms has a television?

It's true, but each room has a record player and you can check the records out to play from the lobby or bring your own. We actually watched comedy shows on our phone.

Are the beds comfortable?

We stayed in the Queen of Hearts room and the bed was so comfy. From what I've been told all of them are the same except for the Atomic Bombshell because the company they got the others beds from couldn't do a round bed.

On 1/1, while using the hot tub on site, the chlorine stripped the dye right out of the fabric of my swimsuit within about 10 minutes. By the next morning, my partner's swim shorts were also bleached and permanently damaged. The photos speak for themselves - this was severe chemical damage, not normal wear. While we were at the pool that day, a staff member told us the hot tub had been chlorinated that morning. Two of our personal items were ruined after a single use following same-day maintenance. The total replacement cost for my swimsuit alone is $240. Fabriv damage occurring within minutes is commonly associated with significantly elevated chlorine levels, not normal use. Given how quickly the dye was stripped from our swimwear, this raised serious concerns about whether the facilities were safe for guests to be using at that time. What's far more upsetting than the damage itself is the hotel's lack of response. We reported this while still on property and followed up multiple times afterward. Management was dismissive, denied responsibility, and told us to take it up with Booking.com. Since then, Booking.com has attempted multiple times to contact the hotel on our behalf and the property has not responded at all. Accidents happen. Equipment issues happen. But refusing to acknowledge a clear problem, deflecting responsibility, and then completely ignoring repeated attempts to resolve it is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and communication is what truly ruined this experience.

Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
