After calling every company in the surrounding PA, DE, and MD areas, scheduling the in-home estimates, suffering through sleezy sales pitches, sad attempts at trying to convincing me I needed the most expensive options, and each one informing me I wouldn't find a better price for a roof of this size and pitch (like, could buy two new vehicles for the price of the roof alone, "better price") from anyone else. I was at the point of giving up and letting my 20-year-old roof cave in on me, when a contractor working on my house suggested I give Rock Roofing a call. I had not come across them in my search, as they weren't plastered all over every piece of junk mail that comes to my house, or advertised ad nauseum, so I thought, what the heck, let's see what fun they have in store for me! I called to set up an estimate, and the owner (Ted) answered the phone and scheduled a time for an estimate that worked around my schedule, without the usual pressure I felt from other companies to accept a time slot they chose for me or risk losing out on some amazing deal that doesn't exist. On the day of the estimate, a very professional employee, named Smith, came and inspected the roof, in the attic, and the gutters, and asked me what I had in mind as opposed to telling me what I wanted. He then sat down with me and took the time to explain the entire process including, the difference in shingles, gutter replacement and guard installation, skylight and chimney chase cover replacement, and was honest enough to tell me that I did not need the most expensive options and why. He provided me a detailed estimate at which point I almost fell out of my chair, thinking he must have missed half the roof in the estimate. He assured me that it was correct, and then let me know what their availability was if I decided I wanted to move forward without being pressured to make a decision and schedule it on the spot. Obviously, I decided to go with them. They asked me for no money up front, they arrived early and promptly got to work prepping my entire property to protect it from the work being done. There were about five or six of them working with care and purpose. They took a picture of the only board that needed to be replaced to show me the evidence and put me at ease that I wasn't being charged for something unnecessarily. They were all extremely polite and respectful of my property. They even pulled the cooler inside my garage I had brought for them and closed the place up for me after thoroughly cleaning the property when the job was completed in a single day! Just when you think it can't get any better, the owner personally called me to schedule a time to meet with him to go over the job and make sure everything was to my satisfaction before ever asking for payment. Ted met me in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and walked around the entire house and explained all the work in detail. He even noticed there were handprints on a section of siding and apologized and said he would have someone out first thing on Monday to take care of it, despite me telling him not to worry about it. Clearly, he takes pride in his company, workmanship, reputation, and attention to detail, which is not something you find very often anymore. I am so impressed and happy with everything about my experience with them and their work, which has been completed for a few months now and everything is still flawless. I wish more businesses like this existed. I give Rock Roofing the highest of recommendations and commend them on staying true to their values, and ethical business practices in a world where it is no longer easy to do. I know that would cost was more than the work that I needed but was oaky with it. Then the person came out and told me it would cost 750 dollars to install for a fan that I was providing. That was less than two hours work and feel they were way to high to do such a simple job. This was not the first time I had this kind of work done. Update - After adding my post, the owner called me and worked it all out to my satisfaction.

A new roof was installed on our home by Mid-Atlantic and we are very pleased with the results…read more  John, the owner, came out to do an estimate and thoroughly explained the choices of high-quality products that could be used.  He also described how the work would be done so we knew what to expect on the day of the install.  The work was promptly scheduled, and the crew arrived on time and did a professional and expert job of removing the old roof and installing the new roof. His crew cleaned the entire area around our home when they were done. The finished work looked great.  John was on site when the work began and when it was finished to follow up with us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. It definitely was!  We enjoyed working with John and would definitely recommend Mid Atlantic as an excellent company. John even replaced a few boards in our back deck that we had requested during his initial roof inspection and estimation. We went with his company because it also did an excellent job of installing leaf free gutters several years ago. Again, we highly recommend John and his employees.

My husband put in a patio and sidewalk along our house using pavers as his first retirement project. It was great at first but soon became a safety hazard. Bill replaced both with stamped and/or textured cement work. Our yard slants and there was a rotted tree stump under my husband's work. He ground out what was left of the stump and dug out more dirt than his estimate stated to make our new patio flatter and make 1 step possible instead of the 2 steps originally expected. By doing this we also no longer needed window guards for our basement windows. Our estimate also included a garbage can pad on one side of the sidewalk. When he went to do the work, he realized there would be a small area of grass between the two and offered to make it all one area at no additional cost. At the beginning of the job I asked him if he could give me an estimate for a cracked walkway out front and an estimate if we did the rock area alongside the walkway. I made it clear I understood that he would more than likely have to come back for that job as he was already backed up due to Mother Nature. He explained it was actually more time and cost effective to do the work at the same time. He pointed out that if we did the whole area it would save on maintenance as weeds are a problem with the rocks. We use pots for flowers anyway, so the no weed idea was a gift. We were having our back patio stamped, so when he gave me a price for the entire front area he asked if I wanted it stamped. I said yes if it wasn't too costly or a problem for him. He gave me a fair price for stamping the entire front and I was happy. The next day he explained he would like to texturize the sidewalk to tie the front and back together but there would be no added cost. I was thrilled. As we are novices when it comes to concrete his suggestions as a professional were much appreciated. He asked if we wanted the stamping straight or on an angle. Again, we were clueless, but Bill explained an angle usually looked nicer and made the work pop. He included us in every decision regardless of our lack of knowledge. Bill Smith is a detail guy. You may not think of it, but he will. He will suggest and explain. He was as concerned about a quality job, that made us happy, just about as much as we were. He was a true pleasure to work with.

But after hiring Will his professionalism and expertise only became more prevalent. Working with him was stress and worry free. --A pleasure, especially after working with 2 non professionals. Will always got back to us immediately. Poor job overall! Mr Garcia of Noveron promised me that my…read moredriveway would look clean and even when the job was finished. He claimed he could expand both sides of my driveway and it would look like one even finished job. Well, it did not. Looks like a hot mess and clearly not as he promised. When he asked for payment, he somehow for got the original quote he had given me and added $300 additional to the cost of the job. My advice to others is to get his initial quote in writing - I did not and took his word that he would remember. I called and asked him to return and fix the mess and I haven't seen or heard from him since. It's been about a month and nothing from Mr Garcia. Next time I'll just call the real pros and just pay the cost instead of trying to work with these small local guys who really don't know what they're doing. I think they just get lucky in some cases and some people might get decent work from them, but it's probably 50/50 on what type of results you'll get.

They installed a rubber roof on our low-slope kitchen addition and did a very nice job of it. The one hiccup was that a contractor forgot to clean up all the nails before leaving. To my surprise, the owner of the company personally came out to apologize and went around our back yard with a magnet to clean up the remaining debris himself.
