The tile in one bathroom was discolored, and he said it could be cleaned and sealed, and we needed tile flooring in our other bathroom replaced. Randy was friendly and approachable, and I planned to see how the smaller project went before hiring him for the larger project we needed tackled. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. A subcontractor/employee showed up on the agreed date to clean and seal the tile, and spent a couple of hours what sounded like physically scraping the tile - not what I expected. His coworker showed up a couple hours later, and told me that this plan was not going to work - that even if they could get the tile clean and seal it, the staining would come right back. He told me to have them leave, because Randy would still charge me for them being there. I went in the bathroom after they left, and it literally looked no different except there was dust everywhere - they did not clean up. I waited for a follow-up call or email from Randy - nothing. I was mad, but decided to put it behind me. A week later, I received a bill. I wrote a very frank email to Randy explaining my disappointment with the workers sent, the fact that no work was even done, and my confusion that he didn't even bother contacting me afterward. He apologized profusely and said he would follow up with me the next day. He did not follow up with me about the work, ever. But I have still been getting bills from this company!! I have emailed him multiple times, and he's told me to ignore them, but that is not an acceptable response - every time I see one of these emails, I am newly angry about the time I wasted on this endeavor. I gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make this right, and he did not even bother to try. I am writing this review because once again, I have gotten an invoice for this "work". Would not recommend.

Ann Sacks - Bait and switch, nicer slabs with no bundle numbers in front of damaged slabs with bundle numbers.

Ann sacks emailed me back a pic of the slab to purchase same condition. Signed the contract and paid. Sent my driver to pick up 3 slabs, as directed, and they gave him a 3 majorly cracked, broken uneven edges, damaged. Same day tried to exchange for slabs matching quality of those shown in pics and seen in person. They refused. Said once it loaded it's yours. I had a driver pick up what I thought were the slabs we agreed upon. After hours and hours of pleading, day after day of waiting for responses, dropping in and talking to Joe, the manager, non replies from their corporate customer service, nothing we can do's from Joshua the sales associate. It's an absolute nightmare. It's our policy they said. It's it also their policy to bait and switch? They hid the damaged slabs behind two good slabs, and didn't put bundle numbers on the good slabs so consumer would think the bundle is good. Then they gave me damaged slabs saying it's the same bundle, and anyone that knows slabs will tell you there isn't that much variation in quality in one bundle. All The slabs they gave me were damaged. See first pic the slab they emailed me picture I was buying. Second picture is what my driver got day of. Last pic is how they mislead consumers at the warehouse the nicer slabs with no stock numbers were placed on the sticker numbers that were damaged. But obviously not the same bundle. Misleading, and horrible customer service, no accountability, no resolution. Stuck me with $6k worth of unusable slab. Was supposed to be my centerpiece kitchen island. Out of time money and massive stress.

You are not able to select your slabs which are 3'x6' and therefore you get what you get and they are stain, broken, and pitted. They are licensed (this is very important -- we had a very bad experience hiring a different contractor earlier this year who cheated by saying he has a license but in fact not, and that contractor scammed our money and never came back to complete the kitchen remodel for us --- that's when we had to look for a new contractor and fortunately we found Annie and Robert.) Annie and Robert came and measured our kitchen and provided computer generated sketches for us to approve. Their on-site installation crew are also fantastic. Chris and Alejandro demonstrated experiences and skills throughout the whole installation process. They are also detail oriented. They acted professionally with courtesy. Overall this is an honest business with great professional crew and it's a pleasure to work with them. Highly recommended.

Although they were booked for a few weeks, the wait was absolutely worth it. The team was professional, experienced, and truly thoughtful in their craftsmanship. I chose an inexpensive tile but thanks to their skill it looks great!

If you are looking for a simple repair or a straightforward project, Eshed may be a great option…read more However, if you are looking for very utmost craft, precision (ie. 1/8" grout lines), working with curved tile shapes and expect a professional partnership throughout where there is no harassment and unsolicited comments beyond the scope of the agreed upon project, then this is not the small business for you. I, too, found Eshed via his five star reviews but was completely disappointed with the way the project unfolded. The initial project quote was 15 business days. Though I had to unexpectedly travel for work and attend jury duty, I ended up being without a kitchen for 2 months. Expectations were not met. Partway through the tile project, my closet broke and a closet expert came to assess my storage needs while Eshed was at the property working on the kitchen backsplash. While showing the closet designer my dresser drawer, it tipped over due to all the drawers being opened. We called Eshed in to help us rotate the dresser back upright and I thanked him for his help. I carried on with my closet consultation. At the end of the work day, while Eshed and I were discussing progress, Eshed made a comment about seeing all of the underwear in my dresser drawers and breezed past it as if it was part of standard conversation practice. In addition to this, while wrapping up on a Friday, he has sent me photos of where he's headed for the weekend and at one point even verbally suggested that I go with him to climb rocks on the beach. These instances, though not tied to the project, demonstrate a lack of professional standard that I expect from the highest quote that came in during my research for a quality tile installation. When all the tile was installed, right when the first wall's grout was applied in the kitchen, I was shocked to realize that the spacing that we were aiming for (1/8") was not at 1/4" or greater in some areas. I asked him if he used spacers to control the spacing and he said no. I asked him why he didn't use spacers and his response was aloof, telling me it was inefficient. This is not the bar of craft of excellence once expected from a project where the tiles cost more than the labour and the labour was already the highest bid across 5 businesses. Upon project completion, the matte black door knob on my front door looked like a blender had been taken to it because of all the broken tiles he was managing while going in/out of the property to cut tile pieces. I pointed this out and he did not make any suggestions to make this right or compromise. Lastly, he had an unprofessional meltdown in front of my electrician, a fellow tradesperson after passively suggesting that the electrical outlets need attention and that I should bring the electrician back (for the 3rd time). He raised his voice, got overly dramatic and read the text message he wrote me in front of the electrician to prove a point that only worsened his credibility. On the final day of completion, instead of calling me out of my office to confirm that the project was complete, he texted me while leaving the property and told me to send a check. No final walk through of the work was discussed. It is likely Eshed will respond publicly with a rebuttal, but I hope these examples as a whole give you the context you need when considering your next tile needs.
