I've been running around from store to store with no luck. I decided to try Roots since it was close. I asked the clerk if there were any leather gloves. She said, "One left". Would you believe they were made exactly for my short, stubby hands? The only problem was the price. $88.00 Yikes. Not on sale. Ugh. I had to take them. They are beautiful. The cash-out procedure is the usual annoying thing. We need your email, we will spam you forever.... Very nice staff. The store is so clean and organized. Much nicer than the one on Whyte Ave. Of course the parking is better too. Sanitation station by the front door.

This is the place to come for Roots clothing in Edmonton. They're not really an outlet in the way…read morethat I'm used to (I live in California), as they had the same styles and selection of current styles that the West Edmonton mall location had on offer. I'm used to outlets offering different lines, albeit sometimes at a lower quality, so it's nice that they are selling the same quality. The main attraction is that they have a sizable clearance section in the back. We all know that Roots can be a bit spendy, so this is the way to stretch your dollars a bit further. Seriously, if I had known about this store, I would have just come here rather than going to the other location first. I got some great deals that I was happy with, and I was even able to use a coupon to sweeten the deal.

I had ordered about $200 of clothes online for the kids for Christmas in November. Upon my daughter unwrapping one of the items, we discovered that the security tag was on the item DESPITE it being an item mailed to us from shopping online. I came in to the store and asked to have the security tag removed from my online order. The look and treatment we were given, was quite disappointing. Almost as though we were being accused of shoplifting. The woman (who I believe to have been a shift supervisor or manager) was quite harsh in tone and said repeatedly that they wouldn't take it off without the receipt. I suggested to her that we call the Gap 1-800 number so they could look up my order and confirm to her that I had paid because I had long ago recycled all the packaging/invoice in November. Eventually she agreed to just take the tag off, I guess she didn't want to call the 1-800 number but the treatment we received and the tone that we were spoken to was quite disappointing. We had planned on buying some other stuff there that day but my husband was having none of that after our experience. So we walked just around the block to Osh Kosh Carters and Justice and happily boxing day shopped there. This most recent experience would be a 2 star for sure but I'll still give it a 3 overall.

I love shopping here. I used to think all of their jewellery was very juvenile, but I think they…read morechanged it up because now I love the stuff they have. Ardene's is a less expensive place to buy fashion jewellery. They also sell scarves, t-shirts, leggings, hats, etc. I don't buy any of the clothing from here because it truly is meant for 15 year old prepubescent girls, but the jewellery has a little more variety. This store often has 10 for $10 sales, or 5 for $10 sales. This is the whole reason I go here instead of a store like Claire's. Chances are if I walk into a jewellery store, I will be spending at least $10, so why not stalk up? The last time I went here, I bought 5 headbands for $10. It did take me a while to pick 5 out, and this is really the only downside. The staff here are also really nice. They always say hello when I walk in and offer help. I will continue to shop here until I "grow" out of it, which by the looks of it, will not happen anytime soon.

I went on a wild goose chase this week to find to find a dress to wear to my son's wedding…read more I ordered on online, but it's really not for me. After a little search, some dress pics from Mekanue Lyne showed up. I fancied this one dress, so I sent a pic to my daughter for approval. Then I set out to find it. Time is of the essence. The website indicated they had one at their WEM location. I went in to find out that was not so. I looked around the store to see if anything else caught my eye, but nothing stood out. The next day, I drove to South Common and asked them to find the dress for me. Yay! They had 2 left and one of them fit. (Although, I needed a lot of help from my staff helper to get that zipper up). The dressing rooms need a good cleaning, but overall, the store is better than WEM. Brighter, friendlier, more stock, nicer displays. Just ....better. I was given a piece of waxed paper to take home. I was instructed to rub it over the zipper teeth. Hopefully it helps. She also showed me around the store, pointing out cute things for me. I really didn't need anything else. Not a cheap place, but not out of reach either. I'd go back.

I think it is the clearance centre for the other Laura stores, so always tons of discounted and clearance items. Nice dresses marked down from $125 to $25, heck I got a dressy blouse for $7!! You don't get decent clothes anywhere for that price, except maybe second hand. Better than Winners! Fabulous selection of petite and petite plus. I'm short and curvy, and have consistently found that Laura's clothing lines fit well, keep their shape, are good quality and last for years. Definitely my go-to place for work/business apparel and the occasional dressy outfit. I hate South Edmonton Common but this store is awesome.

I bought a few items online and didn't like one particular piece, so as per Laura 'policy', I went into the store to make an exchange/ refund. I walked in and the staff treated me like a POS. I actually had to ask one of the staff members to stop glaring at me. The 'Manager' was gone on holidays and her replacement didn't have a CLUE about what she was doing! She told me exchange only. Okie dokie, I looked around the store and found something I could live with, but not ideal. It took the staff about 20 minutes to figure out how to do an online exchange. When I finally got impatient with their ignorance I just asked for a credit. (Not even my money back, just a simple credit,) No go, nope, no way, can't do it. (I am getting madder by the second because now you are just wasting MY time). Anyhoo, because they couldn't figure it out I walked out with a sweater I wasn't in love with and stopped... Wait. Why would I pay for something I really didn't want? So I call Laura CS and the Rep who answered was fabulous. She told me that indeed, they could just issue a gift card in exchange. So, I go back into the store and the Managerial replacement avoided me like the plague (I had to chase her down). I kept the CS Rep on the phone and the acting Manager STILL wouldn't come over and speak with her. I finally convinced her to speak to Laura CS. CS walked her through it and we completed our return/ exchange/ credit transaction. Walked out with my credit and it will be a cold day in hell before I go to this location again. Sorry for the huge review 'swing', but Customer Service is everything, and this experience was awful!

It can be worn as a business attire to a casual outfit or a night out. They have a great selection. I purchased a nice sweater for my friend for her birthday. It was on clearance too so it was good. Employees greeted me and asked if I wanted any help from them. They have a sale going on but I didn't find anything for me.

A few weeks ago I was searching all over Edmonton for a simple white skirt to wear at a destination…read morewedding I was going to. A white skirt, and a nice blouse that's what I wanted. But no one had white skirts, aside from cheap tacky sarongs. I finally found a skirt at Ricki's. I'd never been inside the store, never really consider it until it was suggested through a friend. It reminded me of Reitman's except there was a lot more business clothes. Sizes go up to 18, but some of the items fit a little funny. Although that's just the joy of shopping, each store (or brand) sizes differently. There was a great sale on so I got one blouse for $15 and and another for $20. And my skirt was $50 and worked perfectly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Don't know if I'd come back all the time, because I don't need a lot of business attire, but I'll shop here again.
