I have gone to H & R block for 4 years now and have had problems with them in the past. (an employee at H & R block put the wrong address so i didn't get my tax refund until 3 years later) I went in today and being naïve, since it's my first time by myself i didn't think to ask what the price would be ($424 just to be filed) to have my taxes done and neither did they think to inform me at the beginning our session, (which is not professional on H & R's part.) I mentioned before we began to Joann Wickem (the employee who helped me today) that i was on 1099 for this year yet she still didn't mention the price for doing the taxes. Once she was all finished we went to the front to pay and she still didn't even mention a price (which is how i knew something was up.) and proceeded to tell me that the price will be on the card machine. ($424 just to have them filed, not even what i have to pay on my part to the irs) I tried to hold my frustration in when i saw the price but had no better knowledge and just payed for it. I didn't know till later when i spoke with my parents that $424 for taxes is an insane charge and that i am stupid to have payed for it. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you enjoy being over charged! I hope this can be resolved or possibly i could be refunded!

The only issue I ever had with my money at this institution was with some bonds I bought from them and which I misplaced. They couldn't help me recover the bonds and that was a disappointment but other than that, I have been treated with the utmost care and respect.
