I'm amazed by her level of patience and ability to manage both horses and their humans. In addition to all of this, I tremendously value the new friends I've made through Erin's growing community of clients. A locally owned female entrepreneur who loves horses and who cares about teaching proper riding is such a breath of fresh air, and definitely a step up from larger businesses that may not care about you or who are just interested in getting you in & out and taking your money without much benefit to you. Horses are well maintained and gentle, and you can tell they are treated with kindness and care - treated like respected employees instead of just an animal. Davee's teaching method is very thorough, she will show you what to do then let's you do it yourself to make sure the skill sticks with you. It's definitely my preferred method of learning. I used to be an avid rider as a child but that was 20 years ago and I had never done large group…read morerides. I was very nervous/scared about being in a large group ride but Davee was there to help everyone, especially silly me, feel safe and comfortable. I'm pretty sure she is fluent in horse. It's pretty amazing to watch this woman around these magnificent animals and her comfort/familiarity with them. Highly recommend, especially for anyone new to horses and/or a little nervous.

I wanted to learn about the parts of the saddle, how to hold my body, how to breathe with the horse, the proper things I need to learn and expand on my knowledge of horse riding. There was a little girl in the class and she seemed to get all the attention. I didn't get any one on one attention-definitely not worth it if I wanna go in a circle, I would go on a kids ride. Gudrun and Carol are both excellent instructors - always made sure you were safe but most importantly having fun. You get a casual 10-15mins trail ride to and from the barn to Eastern field, where you get about an hour of lesson time. She understands my level and finds ways that make it easy for me to learn. She will give you rules of the game while you are cooling down the horses, or tacking them up and just through normal conversation that I do not realize how much information I have actually obtained till I go home and start talking about Polo to my friends and realize I know more about it than I thought!! I came from a jumping barn where I owned a barn sour horse that was nothing but issues (Rearing, bolting, ect... her name was Lucy Lohan just because she was so crazy!) While most trainers believed that the only resolution to the problem was drugging, Cathy is more about fixing the problems with schooling and proper training! Although I have gotten rid of her, I am still a bit jaded from the experience, but Cathy is so patient that she teaches me techniques I can use for the next time I encounter those vices, and was not mad when I stated that I just wanted to start from the ground up again on my horsemanship! Her horses are also to die for!!! I have honestly never ridden a lesson horses that were so kind and gentle I would trust my non horse friends on them! They all have experience on the polo field, but you can tell they totally enjoy the beginner's lessons. The only vice I have seen with these horses is their addiction to carrots!

We were looking for somewhere that could teach a young child, and after chatting with several places, we decided to give Bennett farms a try. I know nothing about riding, and my decision was based simply on the fact that Nancy from Bennett Farms understood a lot of my concerns about my young daughter riding (short lessons, Samler pony, what she would be learning, etc). The people here are ridiculously friendly, and they've been so kind and welcoming to my daughter, it's amazing. Eloise, her teacher, is fantastic - patient, calm, and confident - and my daughter has been improving steadily since she started here. The other people we've met at Bennett, from the people taking care of the horses to the other owners, have been really great. It feels like a community when we're here and I highly recommend them if you're looking for lessons for yourself or your kid.
