The horse I rode jumped from my leg brushing his belly, so I had to float my legs off his body the entire time. I'm not sure he was well enough to ride that day if his belly was that tender. The other horses did not get along and fought while on the trail. This led to one horse spooking/attacking another and caused my friend to fall. She had difficulty walking, but was asked to get back on the horse despite laying on the floor in pain. After she couldn't get on, we thought the guide would call for help. But we found out later that the guide simply called her coworker and told them she'd be late for her next ride. Are you kidding me? Someone gets hurt and your first thought is your next paycheck? Our friend had to continue on foot since the guide told us we could not get off to help her. I don't think she would've made it all the way. We were lucky to run into fire authorities that gave her a ride. The authorities clarified they were NOT contacted by the guide and they were there for a separate event. We took our friend to the ER ourselves to get a spinal scan which thankfully turned out with bruising only. Afterwards, we were not offered a refund. We get it, horses have bad days and are unpredictable. But there is no excuse for having a guide that is so severely untrained and unempathetic. In a real emergency, you do not want to be caught in the middle of a nowhere with no signal and a "guide" that doesn't even know how to call for help or care about you. She just sounded like she wanted it over with. Really horrified and disappointed by the negligence here.

FIRST TIMER ALERT! I…read moream still on a "when was the last time you did something for the first time?" kick. There is a current deal on a 45 min riding course for $25 either on their Yelp page or Living Social. In theory, 45 minutes is not much time; however, that wasn't the case on the Sunday I went. I really enjoyed the experience! Natalie was my instructor. She is such a sweetheart! She was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She's been only riding for a year or so but she could have fooled me. She instructed very well and was great with Lucky (the horse I rode). My original appointment was the Sunday prior; however, I had to cancel because of a sickness. Natalie was very understanding and I was able to book my actual appointment with ease. The school is located on a large property that also provides space for other riding schools. There were 4 - 5 arenas that I was able to remember, there possibly could be more. Its a great community and the property is well maintained and clean, BUT do watch out for the occasional horse poop that are in large piles. The drive was not difficult at all. The freeways were empty since my appointment was at 12am. Their parking lot is very large with plenty of parking space! Parking is free! Tip: - The HDRS Office is on the far right just from the gate! DO NOT drive all the way to the back of the lot. - Wear boots with a heel. - DO NOT wear shorts! Overall, I had an amazing experience. I definitely want to ride again, maybe another course and/or just to ride on a scenic trail!

Her posture was getting bad and we decided to have her try riding. My older daughter rode with Sheri and Duncan years ago and I remember how great they were. I called and talked to Sheri, told her everything going on and she said she would love to start my granddaughter. We started with the summer camp and now do weekly lessons. We can't believe the improvement in attitude, posture, priority and confidence. It feels good to go back after so many years and find the same integrity, love and care, plus the greatest groom in Southern CA. The facility is wonderful and more important than anything, everyone is great, kids, parents, trainers and neighbors. My granddaughter misses Summer Camp and is excited for next year. She learned how to completely groom her horse, even clean up her tack. She met a new friend and they got to ride together today. All I can say is thank you Edmonton Farms, Sheri, Duncan, little Cleo and Rachel, Jorge and the best pony ever, Penny. They have wonderful horses to ride, all well trained with great ground manners. If the highest score I could give is a 10, they would still get 100 from me.

He teaches with enthusiasm and is so encouraging. Throughout her lesson I can hear him yelling,"Excellent!!" We have had trainers that yelled and screamed and made her cry. Here she is encouraged and consequently looks forward to her lesson. So much so that we drive all the way from South Orange County to train here. Additionally, the horses that he has for her to ride are amazing! They are expensive, premium horses. Some trainers have lesson horses that are ancient or of low quality. We highly recommend Edmonton Farms. They specialize in teaching to the level of their students whether you are a beginner or an advanced rider, they will form a program for you.
