The woman who took my appointment was so friendly and thoughtful. After hearing about my hair type, she recommended Dora, an experienced stylist who she felt would be a perfect fit. That was so appreciated, and it showed me the salon truly cares about its clients. When I met Dora, we instantly clicked. It felt like we had known each other for years, and our conversation flowed so easily. It's a rare and wonderful thing to find a hairdresser you connect with on that level. She made me feel so comfortable and we talked about anything and everything. The salon itself is beautiful--newly remodeled and much larger than my old one. I love the layout; there are spots for clients to chat, but the chairs are also spaced out enough for a sense of privacy. Dora is not only a fantastic stylist but also a great person. She listened to all my stories and even offered some great advice. She also suggested darkening my hair a bit, which has made my eyes pop. It's a great example of her expertise and creativity--my previous hairdresser, who was an expert in her own right, never even mentioned a change like that. Do I plan to do upkeep every 4 weeks. I told him no. I'm too busy. He then suggested bringing me back to my natural color for roots and painting on the highlights/lowlights. Knowing my hair was damaged the owner suggested deep conditioning treatments at the salon's expense. Needless to say, these deep conditioning treatments did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. I took my time to visit the salon, receive the deep conditioning treatments, and again, at the recommendation of the owner, slept with the leave-in treatment in my hair overnight and my hair still remained damaged. Nothing Jolie Rain offered corrected the damage to my hair. Please do yourself a favor and find a different hair salon! Update: The owner, Lauren, telephones and leaves a voice mail message profusely apologizing and promises to send a check. Lauren asks that I please send her my address. I mail Lauren a letter with my mailing address and never receive a check. Shame on you Lauren/Jolie Rain Hair Salon - Bad business!

I have accepted this because of the price. At my last appointment, on 5/28 they were short-staffed. The location was dirty. There was hair all over the floor. The counter tops were dirty. The bathroom was overflowing with dirty paper towels. They were out of cotton discs and color remover for your skin. The schedule was 40 minutes behind. No one complained. They offered an option to reschedule to people. But today.... I was 15 minutes late. Yes, I was. AND I was told my appointment was cancelled. I drove 45 minutes from home as I had done 30 times and was turned away. I asked for the color to do it at home and was told NO. I have an unlimited membership for a year and 3 months. But NO. So, I don't recommend Madison Reed. The color fades fast, the location is filthy, and they are always late. Their customer service... well, not too good either.

We booked our appointment a couple of months ago and reconfirmed by text, yet when we arrived, the stylists had clearly given our slot to a higher-priced service. One stylist even told us to "have a seat," despite the two of them openly discussing in front of us that the other client's service would take a long time -- meaning they knew our appointment was bumped before we even walked in. There is no one to answer the phone, and replies come through messy, unorganized texts. After making eye contact with the stylist, they told us to "come back in an hour," as if our time didn't matter. There also seems to be zero management. We walked out -- and as expected, no one ever followed up. At this point, we'd rather just go to the salon across the street with far better reviews and a more professional reputation.
