If you're looking for a caring and nurturing environment for your child then Wahiawa Baptist…read morePreschool is a school to consider. My 4 year old daughter attended this school and had a wonderful time. The staff is excellent and the children that attend the school are well behaved. I was looking for a school that has Christian values as well as academics. The teachers at this school shared bible stories and incorporated songs and worksheets as a supplement. Every Wednesday, they would go to church and sing bible songs. My daughter has learned bible verses and memorized them with the help of her teachers. I found it very exciting that the teachers taught my daughter how to pray before meals in English and in Hawaiian. They taught my daughter how to spell and write her name. It was not recommended that she knew how to spell her name when she was first enrolled being all children learn to write at their own pace. After 3 months of practice, she is able to identify the letters in her name and spell it independently. They talked about the calendar and the weather. My daughter would announced both to me every day. :) Once a month, she went on a field trip with her class. She was able to visit the Wahiawa Fire Dept., a trip to the Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch, and the Waikiki Aquarium. All the children wore teal colored Wahiawa Baptist Preschool shirts. It was worn 4 days out of the week. On Fridays, the children could wear their own choice of clothes. They provide a morning snack for the children. They give the children food like string cheese, cereal, fruit, milk, veggie snacks, and yogurt. The school does not cook their own lunch. Although, lunch is catered through Marian's and their is a menu given for each month. Lunch is $4.00. On Fridays, Little Ceasar's Pizza is available for lunch at $2.00 (2 slices and a juice pouch). I usually packed my daughter a home lunch. They encourage healthy foods which is a plus! After lunch, they have rest/nap time for an hour and half. A mini cot is provided. The end of school day is 2pm although there is an option of having your child stay in school until 5pm. My daughter was sent home with 2 books everyday and a reading log. When she read 50 books, she earned a treat. I like that they give incentives to their students every time they reach a goal. It gives the child a chance to earn something while at the same time enjoy their reading time at home with family. This school participates in helping the community from having a canned food drive to hygienic products. They are very generous in wanting to help the community which is great for teaching children random acts of kindness. Recently the children had a Christmas Pageant. There were at least 35 children participating in the pageant. Each child had a part to play (Virgin Mary, Joseph, the 3 Wise Men, shepherds, and animals). The whole program was so organized. All the children were so well behaved and memorized their lines. At the end, all the family and friends were invited to have dinner in their fellowship hall. It was a fun and memorable experience! I would highly recommend this school for families looking to put their child in Pre-K and Kindergarten. The staff are professional and friendly. The families that send their children to this school are very involved in their children's education.

FREE MUSIC LESSONS!! Yes, you read it correctly - FREE…read moreMUSIC LESSONS! My kids have been attending the music program here for a little less than 6 months and boy oh boy - is it goooooood!! One of my kids has been playing drums going on 3 yrs now and has taken lessons from Chuck James Studio in Wahiawa and Hawai'i Music Works in Waimalu (preciously located in Pearlridge.) In the short amount of time my kid has been in this program, she's grown EXPONENTIALLY!! Her musicality, technique, and all around skills have just taken off!! She's a lot more confident as a female drummer and kicks some major drum beats! My other kid has been playing the keyboard for about 2 yrs now and has taken lessons at Hawaii Music Works. She too has grown MASSIVELY in this program!!! I highly recommend it! Here's the 411 - The lessons are 1 hr lessons, you as the parent will need to accompany your kids and stay the whole time in their practice. As a student in their school, your child will be required to play for worship service, once every 4 weeks. Instruments that they teach are: vocals, drums, keyboard, and ukulele Call the office and check them out!! It's soooo worth it!

My family loves our church Ohana (family). My children ages 7 and 8 enjoy the children's program…read more(Keiki of the Kingdom) that takes place while service is going. Before we moved here, my children never wanted to go to church, but now they love it. They also have a nursery every service too for children up to age 4. Then Keiki of the Kingdow is for school aged children. We have been so blessed to be a part of this church. It is very close to Schofield Barracks and service is on Sunday at 10am. Dress attire is very casual and some wear aloha wear. They love having Ohana potlucks every few months and they always have a nice Aloha reception with snacks following every service. They love welcoming military soldiers and families. The new pastor has a passion for music and gives free lessons to the children, in return to play in the church services. All our welcome!
