Yep, those are the names of sauces! At Dogtown, a hot dog stand. Grab one while you can!

Let's set the scene - I had left my purse at home. And had just a measly £5 note to get myself some tea from Leeds city centre on a cold December eve, to make me feel better after a hefty revision session at the library. Bleak prospects, no? Optimistically I popped up to trinity kitchen as I was passing through, and decided on a Meat is Moyder- a vegetarian hot dog from one of the rotating street stalls calls Dogtown. Oh. My. God. It was so good! Made with spinach, cheese and spices it was fabulous, dolloped with (un)healthy spoonfuls of their homemade relish, however avoiding the sauce labelled "holy f*ck hot sauce", deciding it would probably be a bit too spicy! The bread was freshly made, the relished not overpowering, and the onions cooked perfectly. And, at £5, I was over the moon! Plus, it was served with a friendly smile and a joke about how they even want the veggies to have a cracking hotdog. There's even a vegan option! It was made from scratch in minutes, and all of their meat is sourced from local traders in London. My only wish is that I could have had some of the fries too (the man in front of me had some, served in a cute little basket). Oh, those fries. I'll be dreaming about those fries until my next visit, with money this time!

The Trinity Kitchen is the kind of thing I'd like to see in more cities. The option of having different eateries, some permanent, some pop-up in style, rotating over time, is really quite a treat. And really, when is more street food a bad thing? I have to admit, almost every time I visit I end up going to the Chicago Rib Shack but on my most recent visit I did branch out to order Gyoza from one of the food vans. I'm sure if I were in Leeds more often I would try more of the options - the Mexican and Vietnamese places look particularly promising [Edit: I returned the day after writing this review, the Vietnamese food is as good as it looks]. It's well worth signing up for the various loyalty schemes available, or downloading the Love Trinity Leeds app to collection points and rewards. The Kitchen isn't a well kept secret, and during peak times the crowds can be overwhelming and tables can be hard to come by, but if you can time things well then this kitchen is not to be missed.

Tonight I went to Trinitys kitchen. First of all, what a great idea to have all those kind of food in the same place, food truck style! Love it! We went to the Pho Vietnamese restaurant. It was delicious. I had the chicken bun which consist of noodles and vegs. To drink the ice tea was amazing. It was one of the best ice tea ive ever had. And because i dont like fizzy drinks, I ve had a few. Anyway, service was really quick. They give you a kind of remote that will light up when the food is ready. Clever. So, in the end, I loved it. The food brought me back to Vietnam thanks to the lemon grass and the mint in the food! :D

Whilst it's of course handy to review the individual shops, giving an overview of these places is not without use. It's not large, it's not bustling per se, but it's got some real gems within and for that it deserves a mention. One of my favourite indie coffee shops, La Bottega Milanese, is housed inside and it's well worth stopping by for a pick me up. Not only do they have great coffee, but plentiful and delicious bites too. You'll also find some lovely shops, including Fabrication and Joy, both of which are fab for a browse. (More on those individually.) As far as shopping centres go, I do enjoy the fact it has a pleasant mix of independents and chains, although I can't say I visit for Cafe Rouge or Starbucks all that often. I've long intended upon eating at Franco's, since trying a bite of their pizza at Epernay some time ago, so expect some words on there soon. I'm sad that Salt's had to leave the place, but I hear they're still online if you're hankering for some of their delicious fare. All in all, it'll take you perhaps a few minutes to wander through, but it's a gorgeous building and well worth investigating. They've some kind of discount club, sometimes do events, and are yet another location in Leeds that gives us the shopping prowess we have.

The Light doesn't boast a huge range of shops, but is does manage to fit in a cinema, hotel and gym. Like most shopping centres, the shops are all chain stores, though of a more up market ilk that those of nearby St. John's or the Merrion Centre. Due to the lack of independent retailers, bars and eateries the Light definitely lacks character in its offering, but its character lies in the huge towering space within, and the use of what were once exterior walls and windows of neighbouring buildings in its slick interior. If you seek a tranquil shopping experience, fancy a Nando's, a trip to Vue, or simply want to take a short cut slicing off the corner between Albion Street and the Headrow, a walk through The Light can bring a moment of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Some of the stores here include a Little Waitrose, which is a small store but always worth a look in especially considering loyalty card holders can get a free coffee every day or tea, and a newspaper when you spend £5 on weekdays, or £10 on weekends. HMV, Game and JD Sports also have stores here, and they is a few eateries including Subway and a few smaller / independant chains which we certainly don't have where I'm from in Manchester! This certainly isn't a place you can spend a few hours, infact you can barely spend an hour here, unless you're looking for a store in particular, it isn't worth calling in here, unless you are walking around Leeds city center, as it is quite poor, small and appears run down, like most of the smaller shopping malls in Leeds, including St John's, Still with a few big name stores like Waitrose and HMV, I still feel it deserves 2 stars.

Once you've walked your feet off following the square layout of the place, there's a Starbucks to indulge in, but as Starbucks' go, this one isn't that brilliant, Thornton's Cafe, Subway, BB's and some others to recoup and gather energy back to the core. But if that doesn't just do it for you, wander over to Xscape as there are plenty of food facilities over there. Massive car park, so if you've climed into your motor vehicle, there's no worry about finding a place to park, and it's free too, nice little bonus. It is located on the upper level of Leeds White Rose, with a communal seating area shared by the other fast-food places located here, which include Subway, KFC and Spudulike. I ordered the new BBQ Quarter Pounder with Cheese (without a bun), as part of a medium meal with medium fries and a Tropicana Orange Juice. The Pricing was quite reasonable at £5.79, which is cheaper than my local McDonald's back home in Manchester. I was dissatisfied with the presentation of my burger, rather than using the white tray which McDonald's normally uses as standard for a burger without the bun, they squashed it down in a small cardboard box. This not only meant my burger was squashed, but it was much harder to eat and cut into, with the meat sticking to the cardboard. The food quality also remained poor, the fries had no colour to them, and the burger tasted cheap and dry. I was also unable to add lettuce even as a paid extra, but this could have been down to technical issues with the My McDonald's app, which I used to place the order. 2* - Fast service and a little cheaper than other McDonald's locations, but with poor standards of food, I would not rush to return.

The thing about McDonald's is that wherever you go the food should be the same (sometimes boringly…read moreso) and that's OK because you know exactly what you're getting and it's a useful benchmark for other eateries. Because of this I find myself scoring McDonald's by staff and cleanliness (or even staff cleanliness at times). This particular branch is very handy for the hungry shopper but the staff have never been trained to do the McDonald smile and I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced their happy meal with a 'god I'm bored' meal. There is a lot of competition in this food court and I personally believe there are far better foods on offer.
