Everyone is greeted and made to feel at home which is awesome. Many different types of companies that are working here and sharing the premises like a big happy family, which is very cool. I came to visit Phillip at Gateway Media and Films here, to have him work on some video footage for me. Phillip is awesome and if you have any podcast, video or film related work you can certainly give him a call at 305-259-6022. I am sure he would I'll take great care of you and he knows what he is doing with 28+ years of experience as well. From what I can tell they have various office spaces available at this VentureX dedicated and shared which is great and very affordable if you don't need a dedicated secure office for your line of work. They have conference rooms and a very cozy shared lounge area that works great if you are visiting with clients and discussing possible business opportunities or internal business meetings. There is also a coffee station, vending machines and microwave station available in the kitchen if you would like some coffee for yourself and your customers. As a customer, Phillip and I have had some nice conversations over a free cup of coffee or a hot latte which is always great. Internet seems to be great in the facility as well, which is a hard requirement nowadays for day to day work activities. Dogs are allowed on leash and there is a loop that is a little over a mile, I will update the length when I go back. You can venture through a small forest area and around the lake. I did online research to find the best place to donate assorted goods: clothes (adult and children)…read morefurniture, home goods, toys... I love that this is a family friendly place and I love their high success rate of getting people off the streets and into real housing, not just their homeless shelter. Which is probably why they take ALL SORTS of donations. When you have residents get a fresh start in their own place, they could use the furniture and wall pictures and dishes and vases and stuff. Which makes it different than a normal homeless shelter. I donate stuff about once a month to either this location or to the downtown location. (I have put the word out to neighbors and friends that they can drop stuff at my house, even if I'm not home. You'd be amazed how many people just throw stuff away because when they are in the cleaning mood, they want it gone now.) When I go to drop off, there is great security. Also, the residents seem to do volunteer hours and come out to help me unload my van and then sort our the donations. When I go inside for my receipt, I overhear conversations where they are helping residents set up appointments and job interviews. I am very impressed with this organization.
