I recently used EGK Custom Homes to build cabinetry in my kitchen, replace cabinet and drawer…read morefronts in my kitchen and primary bathroom, and spray paint everything for a smooth finish. I saw a few positive reviews of the company on Facebook, and someone in my neighborhood recommended them, so I hired them. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. The project went well at first. The carpenters (Armando and Ivan) were great, the hvac crew knew what they were doing, and the electricians did what they were supposed to do. The problem was the painters - they ruined the entire project and delayed the completion date by two weeks. The two gentlemen painters were unprofessional and disrespectful of my property, and their workmanship was dreadful. I did not receive the spray-painted smooth finish on my cabinetry because the painters botched the job. After their failed attempt at spray-painting, they resorted to rolling the paint and spoiled that as well. The owner of the company, Mario, mismanaged the project and allowed the mistakes to continue. He was rarely on-site and either 1) did not recognize the extent of the errors, or 2) did not care. I had to text him each evening with pictures of the issues that had to be fixed (dents, drips, scratches, items embedded in the paint, blue/green spackle showing through the paint, areas primed but not painted, etc.). At one point he sent his crew over for their tools and asked me if I wanted another company to finish the job. I realized then that he was threatening to walk off the job, and I knew I had to settle for the inferior work if I wanted to have cabinet and drawer fronts again. I could not fathom the idea that any company would be willing to come behind EGK Custom Homes and fix all the issues. It was a truly horrible experience, and I am still picking paint and primer overspray off my kitchen counters, stovetop, dishes, appliances, plasticware, etc. Luckily, Mario paid to have the paint removed from my vehicle - how did that even happen?? I have included a few sample photos of the painting fiasco. The first few photos were taken on September 17, 2020 - the first time Mario told me that they were done painting and they were going to install the doors and drawer fronts the next day. Each day after that, the painters would leave, and my daughter and I would mark their mistakes with tape so that they could see what to fix the next day. Obviously, I do not recommend EGK Custom Homes unless you only want woodwork done and zero painting. If that's the case, Armando and Ivan Pineda are excellent for all of your carpentry needs. I hope you all have a better experience with your remodel than I did.

Tiling, painting, plumbing, electrical, wall work…read more Eric and Lone Star Contracting, have now remodeled 80% of my home. First time they worked for me they updated my master bedroom from top to bottom and created a fantastic wetroom as my master bathroom. As it was, I shopped for the tile in advance and unknowingly selected a size that was very difficult to work with in such a small area. In hindsight, had I shown LoneStar a photograph of the type of tile I was interested in, I believe they would have helped me select a style which was better suited for the small (3' x 3' x 8' tall) shower and still have looked great. That said, the team from LoneStar Contracting did an excellent job of laying the tile I had chosen. It added a week to the project, but the final results look FANTASTIC! The Shower, sink, Linen closet, clothes hamper, and over toilet cabinet were all custom built to fit this bath. The construction is solid and well made. Lonestar selected the grab bars that were installed. Instead of the simple industrial grab bars, they purchased a style that blended perfectly with the accessories (towel bar, toilet roll holder, soap dish) I had selected for the bath. I guess that is what impressed me, was the way Lonestar paid attention to the small details, keeping me involved in a any of the decision making processes. In addition, The workers got along well with my dog, so I did not have to keep her crated during the entire project. Another thing that impressed me about LoneStar Contracting, compared to the other companies I solicited for this project. LoneStar Contracting ALWAYS answered the phone when I called. Not once did I need to leave a voice mail. When I called for an initial quote, they were here the next day to look over the project, and LoneStar provided me with a quote with-in 24 hours of the survey. (compare that to the competition which took a week to prepare the quote.) Even If I emailed or SMS'd the foreman, he responded back with-in the hour. The level of customer service from LoneStar is something that I greatly appreciated. I will contact LoneStar Contracting again when we decide to redo the Kitchen. And I highly recommend you give them a call for any home remodeling projects.

Outstanding Work and Truly a Blessing I can't say enough…read morepositive things about Juan and the work he did on my bathroom remodel. From the very beginning, I experienced issue after issue. What started as a problem with a faulty P-trap in the bathtub ultimately uncovered a much bigger issue: there was no properly connected plumbing underneath the house. As a result, the entire bathroom had to be gutted down to the studs. To make matters worse, midway through the project, the original contractor disappeared. As a new homeowner, I later learned that many contractors are hesitant to take on kitchens or bathrooms where another contractor has already started the work because they cannot guarantee or stand behind the previous work. On top of that, some of the original measurements were incorrect, making the situation even more difficult. I contacted contractor after contractor throughout the Houston area, and no one was willing or able to work with what I had--until I found Juan. Juan was truly a blessing. My bathroom had been completely unusable for approximately three years, and because this is a one-bathroom home, the situation was extremely inconvenient, stressful, and frustrating. Juan not only took on a complicated project that others wouldn't touch, but he also demonstrated incredible skill, patience, professionalism, and integrity throughout the process. He was able to look at the situation, figure out what needed to be done, and bring my bathroom back to life. This review has taken me nearly a year to write, but I couldn't go another day without sharing my experience. Juan is incredibly skilled, dependable, and an upstanding professional. I am extremely grateful that I found him. If I need any other repairs or remodeling work in the future, Juan will absolutely be the first person I call. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who is knowledgeable, honest, dependable, and willing to take on a difficult job. Thank you, Juan, for helping turn what was an incredibly stressful situation into something I can finally enjoy!

Giovanni was responsive, reliable, honest and fair. He was very transparent about his pricing. He came on-site to give me an estimate and started working on some of the smaller handyman jobs such as adding my cabinet and drawer handle pulls, swapping out my master bathroom shower head for a shower head with a wand. He also hung four paintings/artwork for me. He even repaired one of my drawers that were installed incorrectly. I didn't even know it but it was greatly appreciated. Can't wait to work with him again and see what he comes up with for designing my living room TV wall and master bathroom. He has stellar reviews on Google which was what made me book him. He just expanded his business marketing to include Yelp which is why there are a lack of reviews here. But his work is quality and legit.

He cleaned the interior to ensure no mold would form, removed the wet drywall that I missed, replaced it, and painted & finished. By the end of the evening, my wall was as good as new.
