Dr Ricky Meyers is a personable country style vet that will care your pet like he would his own. I trust him with my babies like no other.

Unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling very unheard and uncomfortable. From the beginning, the vet tech's bedside manner came across as rude and lacking compassion. My dog is extremely skittish and becomes very anxious in veterinary settings, so I was already concerned about how she would handle the visit. When she was taken to the back for a bladder scan, I could hear the staff struggling with her. At one point, I heard the technician say, "I can't do this, or else I am going to lacerate her bladder." Shortly afterward, they brought her back into the room and told me they were unable to complete the scan. I explained that she had not urinated in several hours and asked if we could try an alternative method. The technician proceeded to hand me a stick with a cup attached to it and instructed me to collect her urine outside myself. The urine results ultimately came back negative. The doctor then asked to "see" my dog's vulva, I was essentially asked to position and expose the area for the doctor. As someone who is not a veterinary professional, I found this uncomfortable and eventually got the Doctor to examine herself. What was most disappointing was that there did not seem to be much effort to investigate the overall cause of my dog's symptoms or ask additional questions about what she had been experiencing. After the negative urine results, an expensive allergy medication was recommended without what felt like a thorough evaluation or consideration of other possible causes. I left feeling like my concerns were not fully listened to and that we were given a quick solution rather than having the underlying issue properly investigated. I understand that veterinary medicine can be challenging, especially when working with anxious or fearful animals, but I expected more patience, communication, professionalism, and compassion throughout the visit. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because pet owners should feel confident that their concerns are being heard and that their animals are being treated with care and respect.
