I know this is not always the case for every pet but the other vet gave us no hope and we were thinking we were going to have to put her down. If getting blood drawn hurts when someone is digging around trying to find a vein on a person, what makes anyone think it doesn't hurt a dog? Watching the needle being moved around while trying to find a vein was hard to watch, and it honestly made me question the technique that was being used. Worst of all, there wasn't even an apology or any comfort given to my dog from her part. The veterinarian, Jenny Ponce Hernandez, also didn't introduce herself when she walked in. I actually had to ask who she was. She didn't come across as confident, and that didn't give me much reassurance while my dog was being treated. She also recommended that I spay my German Shepherd before her first heat cycle. I understand vets can have different opinions, but every other veterinarian I've spoken with has recommended waiting until after her first heat so she can fully develop. That recommendation, along with the rest of my experience, just didn't leave me feeling confident. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. I came in expecting a simple, routine visit, but I left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable with the care my dog received.

What made this experience even more upsetting was the lack of compassion shown at the front desk. The staff member was dismissive and nonchalant given the emotional nature of the situation. When I asked whether anyone intended to notify us that the order had not been placed or if the clinic planned to keep the money, there was no response. A refund was eventually offered, but by that point the damage was done. When I explained that I now had to go home and tell my wife -- and that this news would deeply hurt her -- the response I received was simply, "Okay." During one of the most painful moments a pet owner can experience, we expected basic communication, accountability, and empathy. Unfortunately, this clinic failed in all three areas.
