She called me in less than 5 minutes after I filled out the online request. My family had just gone through an unimaginable tragedy with the sudden death of 3 immediate family members in a terrible accident and we urgently needed a caregiver for my mother who just lost 3 of her children. SUE spent at least an hour on the phone with me, just out of pure kindness and sympathy, even though she knew she did not have someone who could come in our area immediately to care for my mom. She promised me, however, that she would work very hard to find the right person as soon as possible and even if she was not able to do so, she would keep calling me frequently to keep me posted and to check on my and my mother's well-being. I never in a million years expected that kind of amazing service. I'm sure that was not in her job description. There are still WONDERFUL people in this world and Sue is one of them. I hired this agency to help me find a caregiver for my Dad who has Alzheimer's. I live out of…read morestate and was the one paying the bill, but they refused to share the contact information of the caregiver with me, citing that it was their policy. Obviously because of his diagnosis, he had trouble remembering the caregiver's schedule/suggesting tasks for her, etc. He told me the caregiver was also not allowed to drive him to appointments because she "felt uncomfortable with someone else in her car." Finally I wrote to the agency saying I would not be using them (Home Instead is much more transparent/ethical). However, this agency allowed my DAD to hire them directly, knowing his diagnosis, and continues to charge him for the caregiver. I can't speak to the actual quality of his caregiver, who seems young and very nice (but apparently told my dad she "needs the money" so he continues to use her despite aforementioned limitations). Be very wary using them for your loved ones!

The care givers are friendly and helpful, they become almost like a family member they care so much. Management couldn't get better, the always listened and reacted to every concern we might have had immediately. Always kept in touch to make sure all needs were being met and that the client was happy with care. Caregivers show up to work when they want to, they have left me high and dry with no services for…read moremy mom on more than one occasion. Missed a lot of work because the caregiver decided she doesn't want to go to work. They're not committed to the people that hire them for services. The caregivers couldn't get my mom to shower or changed. We were told they are experienced with people with alzheimers. Went through multiple caregivers because the lack of consistency of care. Even one of the caregivers was caught snooping around our house. I showed the management the videos of the caregiver snooping around the rooms where she wasn't allowed. The answer he gave me was maybe she was investigating a sound. Then they told me she does well with 4 or 5 other clients so there isn't anything they can do to punish the caregiver. So they basically said because she does well with other clients she gets a free pass for what she did at our house. When you pay for someone for services they are supposed to work for you on the terms you agree. Caregivers wanting to make up own schedules to work to fit them instead of customers needs.

Warning to all "Allied Health Workers " ... !! I am 70 years old and live alone since my wife passed in '16 and kids live outside. So I am hobbling alone at home on crutches taking care of myself and 2 labs. Surgeon advised surgery to place screw and plate because both tibia and fibula were displaced to different degrees. Becky from Midnight Sun sent service agreement, which I could not copy due to faulty printer, but I emailed Becky back in which I confirmed I agreed. I also notified surgeon that Midnight Sun would transport me to and from surgery and care for me afterwards. I called repeatedly as surgery day approached (and so did doc's office) to no avail. Neither of us could get a call back. Meanwhile Home Care Assistance of Anchorage, whom I called early on to tell them I decided on Midnight Sun CALLED ME TO MAKE SURE I WAS OK AND SET UP FOR SURGERY. Moral of story: I should have enlisted Home Care Assistance of Anchorage to do the job right from the beginning.

It burned me up when I called the office and explain to them that I was in school this whole time ,JUST graduated ,and came back to them being this way ??even though they tryed to express their care and say I could come back when they have availability -I did not do so Just off of the simple fact that if they really wanted me they didn't have to terminate me‍‍anyway the company im with now deals a whole lot more fairly where I am currently.
