You would ask a simple question and get looked blankly. The work area safety was a disaster. Pictures will be included. They showed up at 7:15-7:25 AM. Upon arrival they needed to get inside for what I haven't a clue. Fairfax county has a noise ordinance stating work can't start until 8AM. If your so unlucky you will deal with Carl. Carl is the most cocky character. He doesn't know code. He claims he does. He claims he inspected the area to bring it up to code but missed a massive code violation. Fairfax County missed it as well but I already knew they were useless. So if you want to hire a company and roll the dice that you pass final inspection this is your company. If you want your property taken and then a cocky response that he's in 200 homes a year this is your company. They took a tarp that wasn't theirs and probably a watch. The tarp was returned but according to Carl they don't take anything. I can't speak for the value. The job was done on time but with annoyances. The kicker is he allegedly wanted to charge trip fees. I asked him to do an assessment of some recent landscaping that I was disappointed with and to give me an estimate for remaining work. He told me in writing (two emails and one text) that he was going to do the assessment. It was important that he do it by a certain timeframe for a dispute with my credit card, and he was aware of that. He had from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17. Because of him, my allotted time ran out and my claim was denied. That means he cost me $3,400. And he left me no choice but to now go to small claims court. I strongly recommend against him and his company.

He did directly express to me that finding qualified "help" was hard and that his staff did not know the difference between a weed and a plant. I can attest that it is true that he does not have a qualified staff. On our contract was for the following: yard cleanup (removing sticks, leaves, pre-bagged debris), mulching edging and weeding beds, aerating the lawn and seeding, and two mows. He asked I pay in full before the work started. Which I did. I should have known better. I generally trust people and this experience has taught me otherwise. The photos showcase the state our yard was left in. He did not pull any weeds, simply weed whacked and covered with old dried out mulch, left entire areas full of leaves and debris, failed to fully mulch the beds. He destroyed many of our annuals, with weed whackers and despite promising to make it right and replace them, never did. He was hostile, impolite, and non responsive despite many attempts to ask he simply execute on the work that was promised to us. This was a big expense for our family and I felt stolen from. I ended up doing the work myself, buying an additional 48 bags of mulch to account for the mulching that was not done, and replacing the plants that were ruined. If not for the quality of the work I would advise against using this company on principle alone - Nolan is not an honest person and I hope you are not the next person to lose money to him.
