We walked in dejected thinking our do-it-ourself project was completely out of the realm of possibility. We spoke with the Asst. Manager, Jason, who took 10-15 min to show us around, discuss recommendations on products and prices, and made the whole information gathering process a breeze. This place is 100% the best home supply store period. Do yourself and your wallet a favor, go see them.

A few days later we began to actually start shopping for the remodel and I went there just to take a look as I had more or less made my selections online with Lowes and Home Depot. Sooooo glad I did and so grateful that I got to deal with John the manager. He was not only super helpful and knowledgeable but had a great eye for design. I changed my vanities from MDF at Home Depot to something almost the same but in solid wood and saved over $400 on each. The tops were Uba Tuba granite with a square inlaid sink and again were almost half price. Then we saw the shower door of my dreams! Maxx frameless, super clean looking and $350 cheaper than Home Depot. Having chosen the vanities that were in antique white we used a sample door to try and find suitable tiles. In the end John himself agreed that they had nothing that worked particularly well and allowed me to take the door for half a day so that I could go elsewhere to find the right tiles. Every time I had to purchase something from faucets to toilet roll holders I went there first and John was the first to say that they could not help me if I had a specific request. Never once did he try to 'sell' me a product. When the vanities were delivered and the backsplash cracked there was no fuss or quibble.... went right to the others in stock and swapped them out. I thought initially it was some cheap outlet but the products I purchased were all high end and of great quality and price. I probably saved about $1300 on items bought here rather than Home Depot. In fact I was able to get exactly what I wanted within my budget. Without Surplus Warehouse I would probably have had to scale back somewhat. The staff are very nice and helpful but if you want helpful with design ideas see John. Strongly recommend.

However, we just installed a new back door to our home & we needed a new doorknob & lock. Hubby & I wanted a double lock black one like we had before & we couldn't find one at the other Home Depot or Lowe's so we came here. And they had exactly the one we wanted. Miracles do happen, even at Home Depot. Very happy to have two Home Depot locations here that has the inventory we need, when we need it. Safety First. Thanks Home Depot. Will Return :) Recommend.

I stood in the lumber section for 15 minutes, waiting for somebody to help me as associates walked past me. Until I finally stopped one of them and she said oh I'll call somebody. I proceeded to wait another 10 minutes for said somebody to come to no avail. After I finally found somebody and showed them the board I wanted and if I could get it cut, he told me those boards are over on the first aisle. You can go get it and bring it to me then I will cut it. So I went back to the aisle, but I was on at the beginning and did not find that specific board that was clearly on the inventory rack with all the other lumber. So I finally just found a pre-cut board that I ended up paying four times price that the other boards cost just to avoid being felt like I was stupid or just because I was a woman- I didn't know what I was talking about. Just do yourself a favor and skip the Home Depot altogether.

After using and calling around to all Fireplace companies in the Pensacola area I found Doodlebuggers, when trying to convert my wood burning fireplace into a gas fireplace (gas line already installed). I first was directed to Amanda, WHO IS AMAZING, she handles and coordinates the project. Brain and another tech came to my house, did a thorough inspection, even catching that a previous company broke building code by replacing broken old ceramic plates with metal plates. The price for two ceramic plates, fire log set, burner, and installation came to roughly $2200, which is great pricing. Only thing I didn't have them do is paint the plates, just due to the man hours that go into which drives up the price. Also, their schedule is a little further out than most but it's worth the wait, if you want it done right. Two things to note, they are the only company I found that actually installs gas burner systems! I was shocked by this when several others claim to be experts in this field?! Also, don't be deterred by them having fewer stars some companies are grouped together and don't reflect just their shop, but the entire region. For example the one that broken building code, eventually admitting to it, had 350 reviews with a 4.9 rating and I'll never use them again.

I used Miracle Grow on the dying plants. After two weeks I called Caribbean Landscaping and told Steve Ackerman that there were 8 plants that were dying. Several days later Steve made no appointment but when I went to get mail I save two "holes" which I assumed Steve had taken only two plants. Weeks later I had not heard from Steve so I emailed him to determine his intent. Apparently he had no intent to replace any of the plants. After the call Steve sent an email stating the plants were getting too much water. I had engaged Foxworth and Moore Irrigation to maintain proper watering. Foxworth and Moore set the sprinkler system for 15 minutes for each section for three days a week. Before I engaged Foxworth and Moore I contacted Steve Ackerman to see if he knew of the company , Steve approved of the company . After Steve said the plants were getting too much water I contacted Foxworth and Moore and I was told that based on three days a week could not have been too much water. I emailed Steve and he stated basically, well what do you want me to do. I said I wanted the plants replaced and the mulch to cover the bare areas. Too date I have not received anything further from Steve. The cost of my landscaping was substantial and I expect to get the plants replaced with healthy plants and sufficient mulch to cover the lPictures are included. I have to correct my assessment of Steve Ackerman and his landscaping business. I posted plants that were dying. First Steve said the plants got too much water. I was using Foxworth and Moore that was monitoring my sprinkler system and he said the plants could not be getting too much water. Steve found out the plants in that group had a fungus. Dying plants were removed and now the replaced plants are beautiful and are healthy. I appreciate Steve correcting the old plants and replaced with very healthy plants. So I must correct my complaint; I would recommend Steve Ackerman's landscaping business. Steve is reliable, professional and cares about jobs.
