We were staying in the hotel that shares a parking lot with this place and were looking everywhere around town for fresh crab. This was the ONLY place we could find. We walked in 30 min to closing and asked the girl at the counter about getting some crabs steamed for us. She said it takes 40min if we are ok with waiting. we haven't experienced service like this yet here in BC. She was so sweet and gave us a call when our crabs were done so we went and had drinks at the nearby bar while we waited. Not only did she stay late for us but she was gracious about doing so. Anyway, we took the crabs back to our hotel room and had a little crab fest on our balcony! It was amazing! The crab was incredibly fresh, sweet and perfectly steamed and assembled for us. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I haven't done any shopping here but this review is for the fish processing. We were in Tofino for vacation and of course, had to do some fishing. Then we needed to get our fish cut into steaks and flash frozen before heading back to Denver. These guys were great. They met us on the dock and picked up the fish right there. Then we were able to come into the store at around 6 AM to pick it up before heading to the airport. "Eat more fish" A great fish store tucked down the hill near the waterfront. I missed this place on my visit this summer, but happily found them this time around. Fresh Halibut, scallops, and candied Salmon was on order for my weekend culinary adventures. Other than the insane price for the Halibut as it is just arriving in season, I was pretty stoked about my purchases. Fresh as it gets without the tails still wiggling! Trilogy is definitely my go-to fish monger in Tofino from now on. They buy straight from the boats, so I'd like to think that the fishermen/women are making a bit more ca$h without that extra middleman. read more

Yup, best place in town for fresh seafood (if you don't count befriending an actual fisher). We weren't sure what would be open over the holidays but Trilogy was! We picked up oysters and salmon and they also had crab and other shellfish onhand. I have to say though, that the cold smoked and peppered lox were...uh...how should i put this...orgasmic. And i don't say that lightly. My dad makes gravlax and i know lots of salmon fishers so i eat a lot of it, in different iterations. But these lox were buttery, sweet, perfectly cut...oh man. We are going back for more today! So when you're at the surf shop just wander down the hill to Trilogy...even if you don't have a full kitchen where you're staying, the lox alone are worth a dropin! read more

These guys are amazing! We were running late one night and showed up 15 mins past closing. They opened their doors for us and we were able to snag some spot prawns for dinner. Came back a few nights later to score some halibut for ceviche. It was a gorgeous/fresh piece of fish and sooo tasty! The wonderful lady behind the counter was so pleasant to work with and you could tell she took great pride in her products. Thank you Trilogy Fish Co! We will be back! read more

Would love to give them four stars but alas the selection was pretty weak. We were lucky to get there in time to get the last of the mussels. Minimal selection of oysters as well. Cooler was darn near bare. Perhaps it was the time of the season? Got the mussels and a crab and were happy with what we got, just seemed to be a good thing we didn't want more variety. 14 guys (many of whom have been patrons of Trilogy for years) dropped off over 300 pounds of fish (over 2 days) to be cut into 1 pound portions, vacuum-sealed, and flash frozen in order to prepare the meat for our 12-hour drive home. Trilogy returned packaged, unfrozen meat, and charged us full price for their "service." Failing to freeze fish we dropped-off the previous evening is understandable, time is tight, but not having frozen the fish we turned-in 36 hours earlier? We would even be displeased but understanding if the the lack of flash-freezing had been reflected on our bill, but we were required to pay the full price for processing in order to reclaim our fish. The only processing assistance we actually needed was the freezing! We would have cut and packed the fish ourselves if we didn't need frozen meat. To be fair: we were fishing on a busy long-weekend and Trilogy may have been understaffed. Nonetheless, if your business fails to provide a contracted service, the customer should not be charged for the service you missed! We paid almost $900 for some kids to cut the meat we had already cleaned. No apologies, just scornful dismissal. We were told that pro-rating Trilogy's service to account for the lack of freezing (eg. 30% of processing was missed, knock 30% off the price) was an unreasonable expectation, and when we took issue with this, we were told to "quit our bitching" and "deal with it." We were asked how we could expect Trilogy staff to provide the service we paid for when they had too few people working! Our requests to speak with the owner were met with "call him yourself." The guys I went fishing with used to put a few thousand dollars of fish through Trilogy processing every year. We will see about the future. There is apparently another Tofino processor (I haven't found it yet) and there is also a processor called Fishful Thinking in Ucluelet. Make a careful decision where you go. I don't know whether the issue is a staff problem or a staffing (ie. owner) problem but, by their own words, they cannot reliably provide the full service you will be charged for and it's your fault for fishing when they are busy. read more

If you are in Tofino this place has the BEST seafood and fish processing. Their store offers only the freshest and finest locally caught and harvested seafood. If you are in Tofino fishing this is the only place you should have your catch processed. Their fish cutters are great. When many fish markets fillet out a fish the yield is usually not great. The cutters here are a precision bunch of fish surgeons getting AWSOME fillets with little to meat left on the bone so you take home way more fish and you will have more excellent Tofino seafood to enjoy when you get home no matter where it may be. They can also arrange shipping if needed. They flash freeze your catch how you want it - 1 lbs. or 1/2 lbs. etc. vacuum sealed packets that last way longer than slow freezing techniques. Our family has been coming here since they opened their doors back in 1999 and have enjoyed everything we have taken home from Trilogy. Great staff and super selection of seafood. read more

The selection was small mid-September, but we still got what we came for. Dungeness crab!! Ever since I saw a large empty carapace lying on the beach earlier and realized that local crab was a thing, I began my search. Trilogy had a whole tankful, though very little of anything else on display. Also got a bunch of mussels and a couple of meaty prawns. Mmm... If you have a kitchen while visiting Tofino, I'd highly recommend dropping by here to get yourself some fresh seafood to cook. read more
