I should have known something was wrong as soon as I came in and found out that the only way you could train is if you sign a year contract. Paying almost $200 a month for what? The teacher himself almost never teaches. I could tell it's hard for him, he is a bit out of shape. His students teach, which are on a good level, but only for beginners and advanced cords. I could tell a lot of those students got the belts(cords) not because of how good they are, but because of how long they trained. Which is fine, but sometimes it is almost ridiculous. After all, it's always the same moves they are working on, over and over again. I am used to be in the best schools of capoeira. I did capoeira for over 10 years. And this school was all about the money. Not the love for capoeira. Oh. And no military discount. UPDATE : Do not go to this place. I am a single mom in the military, had to go through trainings, got robbed at some point and had a lot of problems money wise. I explained all of this to Nathan, the owner and thought he would understand that I can not continue with his service anymore. My priority at this point was to make sure I can at least pay my child's care and other bills I fell behind on due to circumstance. This man made a point that he doesn't care, and even though I have not been there for the past half a year he STILL charged me and now collections are coming after me. This man is not a good man.

The students have a number of teachers who are all highly technical and very motivating. They've all been professional dancers (or are currently with a professional ballet company). It's undeniable how much these teachers love what they do! They are such great mentors. The dancers are also so supportive of each other! It's amazing to be in an atmosphere where everyone really builds up those around them. They are definitely one big family! I love the fact that Premiere is involved in the community and thrives on outreach. The dancers get the privilege of performing at various venues while really making a positive impact. The company dancers also get the opportunity to attend YAGP, the world's largest international ballet/contemporary competition which offers incredible scholarships and training opportunities.

Their web interface and app are almost entirely unusable. The gates are constantly closed, the staff can be rude at times, especially more temporary staff. I often feel like I'm walking on eggshells just to go and work out. It's chaotic, it's almost impossible for my partner to find basketball court availabilities, yoga classes fill up and wind up being overpacked into rooms, and in general there is so much pro Israel rhetoric that it is very challenging to be a member if you're not a zionist. My family is Jewish, but we feel deeply uncomfortable going in there and expressing our opinions. Things seem to be open and closed on a whim, you can't use any of the workout rooms when they are empty or you will be yelled at by a member of staff (even though there is no signage explaining this), at this point I'm not sure why we're spending so much money to come here, when clearly the people who work there don't seem to have an interest in our family's well being. Finally, it's clear that after school activities will always give privilege to the students at Anne Frank Academy, which seems to be affiliated, so for instance we have missed my daughter's Jazz recitals at The JCC because the instructor can't give us a time that actually involves the beginning and end of the recital. Because the concern seems to be about children and Aftercare rather than former students and families who pay high membership fees. So at this point I'm getting fairly fed up and I'm not sure why we should still be members.

My 9yo daughter went for 2 full weeks (8:00-4:00) and my 5yo son did 2 of their half-days (8:30-1:30). Both kids had a blast this summer! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. My daughter takes gymnastics classes here, so this camp is just another great service that they offer. Rates are on par with other camps. Electronic devices are prohibited during this active camp, which I think is a great policy! Kids do not need to be plugged in everyday. I like how the kids are grouped by age and each week has a different theme (sports, space exploration, safari, etc.). They do a theme-related craft each day, which is cute. We get a kick out of them, even though some are geared toward a much younger age than my 9yo daughter - we just giggle at those and I tell her how cute she is. She rolls her eyes - it's a lot of fun. They get free play in the little gym from 8:00-8:45 before they break into their age groups. They take a couple of snack breaks (dry snacks provided) and a lunch (parent provides). They go back and forth between the big and little gyms throughout the day, and around pick-up time (4PM), they're usually watching a movie. Sign-in at drop-off and ID check and sign-out at pick-up. You can register week-by-week online. You can uncheck days during the week if you know you won't be sending them every day and only pay for the days they will attend. This worked great when we had a dental appointment scheduled during one of the days, so I only paid for 4 days that week. They have a flexible refund policy too. You can pay an extra $10/day if you need extended care from 4-6 PM. The coach will send you an email the week before camp to introduce themselves and provide camp-specific info. This is a great touch and really helpful for parents to stay informed of procedures and expectations. One tip for them: update your information form that parents fill out to remove the info about swimming, since it's no longer offered during the camp. Other than that, keep doing what you're doing!

The gym itself is in good condition, clean with some great weight machines and lots of space. There is even a woman's only smaller weight area by the stairs. Overall, because of its spaciness, it usually feels less crowded than some of the smaller Golds. Staff is friendly and there are a few good classes. However, it all pales in comparison to the obnoxiously loud music playing on overhead speakers. Since many of the people working out have their own devices playing their own sounds, I am not sure what the intent of the music is.
