I had been dealing with a dull pain in my right shoulder blade for the past 2 and half years, especially sleeping on my right side. It's an uncomfortable feeling when your fingers would go numb. I decided to go to a chiropractor, not 1 but 3 different chiropractors. One was a monthly subscription and the other 2 was a charge per visit with many follow-up sessions where I spent approximately over $3,000+ for these visits. One doctor even told me that it would take 6-8 sessions for it to completely go away, while the other said it would take 4-6 weeks. Two and a half years later, I asked why hasn't my issue gotten any better, the doctors response was, "I'm not a massage therapist, I'm a bone doctor." WTF?!? I have been dealing with sport injury pain for about 3 weeks before I found Andrew on yelp so I decided to try trigger point massage. I have done regular massage before but that didn't seem to help my problem much. I have to say that trigger point isn't the most relaxing massage. In fact it can be a bit painful depending on how tight your body is. But I felt that I had a lot of knots on the body that are much less tense now. After 2 sessions with Andrew, I feel so much better. Not sure if it's just a coincidence or not but I have been sleeping better too. I have had lower body pain (super tight hamstrings , gluts, calf muscles) for 2 weeks. I thought it was from an IT band issue. I stretched, rollered, soaked in epsom salt baths and went to restorative yoga. I was walking like the Tin Man. I have tried the chain massage places but I really needed a deep tissue massage. I found Andrew on Yelp and lucked out with a same day appointment. Andrew was amazing. This massage style is not for anyone looking for a relaxing massage - you will be relaxed at the end but while Andrew is finding and releasing knots - it is that feel good pain. He checked to make sure the pressure was not too much. He also figured out that all the muscle tightness due to my right knee and recommended I go to my doctor to get it checked out. Andrew was forthright and said this massage is going to help but you need to see a doctor and get some physical therapy. I am writing this the day after my massage and I am walking with very little muscle tightness. Andrew's trigger point, deep tissue massage is the best I have ever had. Then the pain traveled up into my shoulder AND down into my wrist and thumb! I was immobilized and in extreme pain! I saw 4 regular doctors who all said, You have tennis elbow and you'll have to wait it out. Or we can give you a cortisone shot which MIGHT help." Cortisone shots are very damaging to your tendons and ligaments so that was a big NO! Then I just started researching what's a natural treatment for tennis elbow... and voila!!
