I had clicked on wanting more info and pricing, and weeks, maybe months later, I get a call. A friendly unhelpful terribly happy person said she could help me; but they insist on sending a person to give me their schpiel, so ok. Someone at noon tomorrow? Fine. Then a call saying no, noon won't work, how's about 3:30? Far out. Tomorrow comes, big surprise...and at 2 o'clock there's a knock on the door. There she is, one and a half hours early. I'm up to my elbows trying to fix my vacuum cleaner, husband is at the store; oh gee, should I come back next week? Oh geeze, come in let's get this over with. She talked fast and of course got to the bottom line after explaining how many organizations have endorsed their service, including ironically the Second Amendment Association, or whatever. This alone is not a selling point for me, but that's neither here nor there. Finally we got to the juicy part...the abbreviated contract and pricing. She opens her briefcase and whips out the papers and I am hit by a blast of her way, way too strong and too cloying perfume. It enveloped the room like a noxious clout of allergens. My husband came home and I fled to breathe in the other room as she repeated, virtually word for word, the same schpiel to him. The first of two phrases she repeated several times: "Its a no brainer!", which IMHO, should NEVER be part of anyone's schpiel; unless you are a used car salesman. "I don't want to sound like a used car salesman, BUT...", was the OTHER oft repeated phrase that ought to be banned. Altogether a bad experience. I might actually like the woman, to talk to about anything else. If she didn't wear so much perfume...really? Don't you train these folks for going into people's homes? Even doctors offices and optometrists offices ask you not to scent up. Allergies are invisible. I shouldn't have to post a warning. Showed up too early by 90 minutes. Used two obnoxious phrases incessantly. Wore a ghastly amount of perfume. Even her briefcase was expelling scented air. It took literally hours to get my sofa to the point where we could stand to be near it. Finally I wiped down the fabric with a rag with eucalyptus soap which helped a lot. Otherwise, the hard sell usual bag of tricks: " My boss NEVER does this, but he's authorized me to give you a one time discount of $200! and it won't last long" "There's soon to be a huge price increase, you need to act fast. And we'll throw in interest free payment plan, and memorial package..." "Did I tell you how we can collect your remains anywhere in the world for an extra $500?" Altogether a frustrating, amusing, non productive experience. All in all I'd rather deal with a vacuum sales pitch. At least I'd get a clean floor out of it! read more

He after a week of delay dropped me and left me hurt and confused on what to do next...i followed my gut and called Ed from the Trident Society and he was beyond amazing!!!! He got my dad out of the hospital morgue and into his care the same day and handled it with kindness and professionalism. He got everything done and kept me and my brother filled in as he went. I waited to submit a review until I had my mother's ashes in my possession. My mother told me years ago that when she passed she wanted to be cremated. She set up an appointment with a Trident Society representative several years ago and received a wealth of information, but she never went through with purchasing a pre-need plan. Fast forward to now. Knowing her wishes and the fact she was happy with the information she was given by Trident, I contacted the Walnut Creek office the day that she passed. I was put in touch with Mary, and she never ONCE made us feel hurried or put on a hard-sell. We scheduled an appointment, and she explained everything in a very professional manner. This process could not have gone smoother! When it came time to choose an urn, we did not find one in their selection that my Mother would have picked for herself, and I asked if it were possible for us to purchase an urn elsewhere and drop it off. Immediately I was told "of course" - I wasn't pressured to purchase one from them, and was also informed that if I wanted to do that, to choose the least expensive plan, as that plan did not include an urn, and then we just needed to purchase copies of the death certificate (the higher-priced plans came with some included). We wound up finding an absolutely beautiful urn online - my mother collected angels - and the entire family walked away from this feeling very good about our choice, and know that my mother would be happy. We had scheduled Mom's memorial for the following month, so we did not "need" to have her cremains returned immediately, and we also allowed extra time to find an urn she would love. All told it took 2 weeks from the time she passed until I had the urn and Mom's cremains in my possession. I have plenty of time to prepare for the memorial without feeling like I am pressed for time. My husband and I have already discussed purchasing a pre-need plan for ourselves so our children won't have to worry about those details down the road. read more

My husband and I went on-line on August 29, 2019 to pre-plan for cremation. We received confirmation of the following: (1) Our initial payment of $299.00 was received (2) Within 1 business day we would be contacted by a local representative. (3) A momento kit would arrive in 2 weeks. I realized it was near the Labor Day holiday so I waited for contact. I did not hear from anyone until I contacted THEM on September 6th. At that point, I decided I was going to cancel as I felt that if over a week, I am not contacted about being their client, what happens if I really need them? On 9/6, I spoke with Veronica. It was late Friday afternoon, So I agreed I would wait for her to call me back on the following business day September 9th. From September 9th-13th, I have spoken with various office staff including Sales Manager Jake. Today 9/16, I received an email from Jake where they say as of 9/13 they are still "figuring out" how to get my credit card reimbursed. The contract said I had 30 days to cancel. I have been working with the Walnut Creek office for over 3 weeks days to resolve a so called "computer glitch" that took $299.00 from my account for end of life pre-planning. I CANNOT imagine what happens if I really needed them due to a loved one passing away. I could not post 0 stars! read more

They went above and beyond, even coordinating a transfer after the nursing facility called the wrong mortuary; we didn't have to do a thing. I (my mother) receives regular mail from these people asking her to respond regarding their cremation plan, even though she passed away 2 1/2 years ago, and I can't even tell you how many times I have contacted them and told them she had passed and to please remove her name from their list. I even went to the office on Tice Valley Blvd. They told me that information was sent via a private source that they employ. So in other words, I guess they have no control over how their business operates. At this point I am considering filing harassment charges. I purchased a plan for my daughter's father three years ago for $1823, including almost all costs: picking up the body, cremation, two high quality wooden urns (one large, one small) plus a keepsake candle urn, arranging for death certificates and cemetery permits. When he died recently on March 28, it took two lovely men an hour to pick up his body after 9pm. There were some additional charges amounting to ~ $700, which were fine and reasonable, still quite inexpensive. He was cremated April 11 and we were able to pick up his ashes, very good quality, at our convenience. We were fortunate to receive consistently good and knowledgeable service from Mary as well as excellent resources. The gentleman who sold me the package (i wish i remembered his name) came to meet me near my home at the time, was very low key and not at all "salesman" like. He was very helpful. The prices of urns and other such items are high but comparable to other places. However, the same items by the same manufacturers are available for about 1/3 of the price on eBay. But I digress. I hadn't yet decided whether to be buried or cremated. However, this experience was so smooth, I am seriously considering purchasing a plan for myself (but selecting a biodegradale urn) just to make things easier for my daughter. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Trident Society based on our experience. The death was very difficult but the service we received helped us to navigate some of the more difficult parts of the process. This was edited to 5 stars. As I read my review, I only remember this as a helpful transition and don't know why I gave it 4 stars. It might have been my frame of mind at the time.
