When you take your vehicle to Transmission Specialists, you will be dealing with an owner who…read moreprovides outstanding customer service. Gary wants you to be totally satisfied and will go above and beyond expectations to ensure you are happy with his service. I have a wheelchair-accessible van which needed some transmission work done on it. After getting some estimates and wanting to use a local business, I took it to Transmission Specialists. While it took a couple of weeks to get the repairs done, I was very happy with what it cost. Shortly after, I took the van on a trip to Florida. Unfortunately, the transmission stopped working after 300 miles on the road, and I was stranded in Cincinnati for five days. Gary worked with a transmission shop in the area, including sending a replacement part to fix the issue. After five days I was on the road again. This time the transmission shut down after 100 miles, and I had the van towed to a dealership. They had the van for four days and couldn't diagnose what the problem was. So, Gary, AT HIS OWN EXPENSE, drove over 400 hundred miles in wintery conditions to pick up the van and haul it back to Freeland. He then took the transmission apart and replaced a key component. Later he took it on a road trip to Traverse City with no issues. On the return trip he started troubleshooting, experimenting with different accessories working together, and discovered an ELECTRICAL issue that caused the transmission to stop working when the cruise control and the windshield wipers were both turned on. So, Gary was able to diagnose the root cause what a transmission shop in Cincinnati and a Toyota dealership in Lexington, KY, could not. I will recommend Transmission Specialists to anyone who needs a reliable, trustworthy mechanic for their vehicle.

We left it there in February while we were vacationing for three weeks. It wasn't ready when we got back. It took another week. The main problem was fixed but it started having another issue so we brought it back to them April 7th for a rebuild. We didn't get my truck back until May 8th. There is only one mechanic on duty.
