It's the kind of place where you know you're going to find something special, whether it's a rare craft beer, a perfectly executed cocktail, or a spirit you never knew you needed to try. It's one of those spots where you can spend an entire evening just exploring the different options. However, while the drinks shine, the service can be slow, and uninterested. The food is decent but not the reason to visit; it feels more like an accompaniment rather than a highlight.

There are plenty of tongue in cheek references throughout both the menu and the interior's decor. The building's soaring arched ceilings are fully utilized: a towering staircase to the glamorous choir loft, climbing art installations, and a sanctuary with an altar that is screaming for a DJ. Side rooms have been turned into private party spaces and the unisex bathrooms guarantee you'll never wait in line. All of our food was tasty but nothing really stood out. Mind you, I'm comparing this to all Québécois food, which is unwaveringly incredible, so it was still very, very good. If I came here again, which I 100% would, I'd love to try more of their fantastic looking menu. I'm not sure what prior bad reviews were talking about, but they are quite old. Our service was great, but if it matters we were there shortly after they opened, so there was no rush. Back to me owning this joint, hahaha, this place has such potential and I hope they're living up to it. I'd love to see this place during peak season when it's going off inside. Really fun place! For some reason I had remembered the Liverpool being better. Back in my college days (I know I…read morefeel old saying that) we used to go play pool, smoke cigars and drink scotch. It was also a popular after work hang out when I worked at an awful call centre in Sherbrooke and I was excited when we decided to go and play pool there. Maybe now living in Ottawa I have access to better establishments but it turned out to be decidedly average. For the unaware, the Liverpool is a British themed pool bar that has a cigar lounge. The pool tables are still good and the place is still really nice, but the beer selection isn't great, the service was average, the music wasn't any good (although showing the music videos on screen is a nice touch). The pool is still affordable ($8.00 per hour, and I think it was that much when I was in University 7 years ago) and they still have a great menu of shots for $3.00 (which also hasn't changed in about 8 years) and the decor is still pretty much the same. It's also still one of the best bars on the decaying Wellington South bar strip, which isn't saying a whole lot. C'mon Sherbrooke you can do better!
