The ladies at the front desk had me checked in within record time. Because I had already completed my paperwork, things went smoothly. I was then ushered to a large, lovely seating area, where many other patients were waiting. The office is massive, containing several doctors, as well as a vision center to pick out eyewear and procedure rooms. My technician and doctor were absolutely wonderful. Initially, the tech took a thorough history and did some tests. She was very pleasant, moved with intention, but not rushed. She was communicative, but not chatty (IYKYK), and had me very impressed. I was well-handled and wondered what was left for anyone else to do. Lol When the doctor arrived, he was even more thorough than the technician. He double-checked her work, then began a discussion with me about my eyes and their health. He did some more evaluation and put me at ease. I remember thinking, "This place is amazing!" At the end, he gave me advice and then said, "That's it," with the most amazingly warm smile I had seen in a while. It was genuine and read like he really enjoyed his job. I mean, WOW. That did it for me, folks. I had already been impressed by the place, but the smile sold me on GO. I am a patient for life! Greensboro Ophthalmology is officially Kiesha Speech approved. I had one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences at this eye exam, and I feel it's…read moreimportant to share. It all started with a 45-minute wait past our appointment time in the lobby, where there was a person screaming nonstop. This was never addressed by the staff, and it left my school aged child terrified--she wouldn't let go of me and just clung to me the whole time. During the appointment, the staff asked me in front of my child whether she was "jealous of her older siblings" and making up eye problems just to get glasses. This was not only inappropriate, but it made an already uncomfortable situation worse. Then, when the doctor finally came in, we were told my child needed glasses to see properly. We were told that our insurance would cover the appointment 100%, but they didn't cover anything because the office had processed the insurance incorrectly. I called multiple times, left messages, and eventually had to send a letter to get someone to address it. When I finally received the bill, the staff was extremely rude and told me it was my fault for not providing insurance that would cover the exam--despite being explicitly told my insurance would cover it fully. In the end, I'm left paying for an exam that was emotionally draining for my child and should have been covered by my insurance. The whole experience was frustrating, and I was really disappointed by the lack of professionalism from both the staff and the doctor. I would highly recommend finding a different eye care provider. We will not be returning to this office.

I was considering not writing this review even after all the…read morewaste of money and time but Vision Source-Eye Center of the Triad had the nerve to send me a bill for $4.13 a couple of days ago. I cannot let this pass! I am so extremely disappointed with this eye care practice. Total incompetence. Let me begin with: I have had myopia since I was 12 years old. With Dr. Martinek, I walked into the office having myopia in both eyes, but walked out with a "perfectly healthy" left eye (20/20 vision). But 5 months after that visit, when I could not see at all, I walked in with her "20/20 vision" in my left eye and left with myopia again. Go figure! Meanwhile, she had me on "dry eye" treatment however charging both my eye and medical insurance for unprofessional and incompetent care. I still had to have a THIRD eye exam this year because I could not see after Dr Martinek's second exam. I know mistakes/typos/calibration errors can happen, and I appreciate honesty. The people in this practice, starting with Dr. Martinek, are unable to take responsibility for mistakes but quickly blame the patient. Josef, the optician/administrator, is condescending and disrespectful. It is truly embarrassing. I prefer driving 90 minutes to see my eye doctor in Wake Forest and have positive, respectful, quality care.

The person who set me appointment with Groat assured me that Medicare would pay for everything. I asked are you sure? They said "absolutely." So I went along with it. When I showed up for the appointment I asked the receptionist, "Will Medicare pay for everything?" I was told yes they would. When I saw the first person in the exam room I said, "Don't do anything Medicare won't pay for." Then a few weeks later I get a bill from Groat for $166.00!! To top it off the prescription wasn't complete so I couldn't use it to get glasses! Very untrustworthy!

Pros: the office is clean, staff is nice and prompt, and we're usually in and out in a timely manner. Since Covid, they ship contacts straight to your house since of office pick ups. Cons: a while back I had to cancel my December appt because I had Covid, and they weren't able to schedule me again until March. Fast forward to this year: I had a baby and missed my yearly deadline (somehow they send reminders to my husband and not to me).
