I had an amazing experience at the Triangle Skydiving Center this past weekend. I never thought I'd ever go skydiving, but I did. We went for my friend's birthday. Upon arrival, we filled out a form and watched an overview video that talked about safety and risks. There was some wait time, but soon we met our tandem instructors, who helped us into our harnesses. Then there was some more wait time until they announced our group. John, my tandem instructor, was awesome. He'd been skydiving for decades, so I knew he was really experienced. My friends and I all purchased the ultimate video and photo package since it was everyone's first time and we wanted to capture as much as possible. They did a pre-skydive interview first, filmed the jump out the plane, then did a post-skydive interview. I received about 300 photos and the video was about 3.5 minutes long. I would've liked to see more video footage of me up in the air. You could tell all of the instructors genuinely cared about making your skydiving experience--whether it's your first time or not--the best it could be. They really love their job and it's so evident. They are also all very close-knit and there's a grill by the observation deck because they often get everyone together for BBQs after work! Triangle Skydiving Center was a fantastic place for my first tandem skydiving experience. My friends had a great time as well. You will absolutely be in good hands here. What kind of nut jumps out of a perfectly good plane at 14,500' in the air?! Your Triangle Yelpers, that's who! Prompted by a great deal and a bit of alcohol, the five of us snagged a group-buying offer online before our self-preservation instincts could kick in. Scheduling with Triangle Skydiving Center (TSC) was pretty easy, now you just need to decide whether or not you want the video package (hellz yeah!)! The ride up to TSC from Raleigh is REALLY easy, a straight shot up 401N (40 minutes). Inside they processed our paperwork pretty quickly, but that waiver form is probably the longest one I've seen in my life! As the first group in at 9am, we had priority over later arrivals, recommend you schedule early in the day. We hung out in the hangar waiting for the clouds to clear. It wasn't even certain whether we'd jump today which was a hidden sigh of relief for some of us. Not that you should be eating much before jumping but I brought some snacks after reading the earlier TSC review, you may need something if the wait gets long. After a couple of hours we get called in for a quick briefing to review the equipment and go over basic procedures. There's a lot of info but not to worry, the instructor that jumps tandem with you can take care of everything if needed (even if you pass out which has happened before). Fifteen minutes later we're suiting up in a jumpsuit, harness, altimeter and jumping on the Otter TurboProp. Another 15 minutes later and we're at altitude (14K+ ft) and ready to unload. I've never been so happy to have a dude strapped to my ass... In about 30 seconds, we're all out and it was so funny watching Jane Y, Susan Z, Ed T and Charlie S fall out. The first 5 seconds out of the plane is a bit shocking: cold air rushing around you, you can barely breath... Once you stabilize and the fear goes away, I had some fun with the videographer trying to act vaguely cool. Pop! The canopy goes off and now you're lolling your way back down to earth. Our landing was a piece o' cake, butts on the grass. Oh my. It's been 24 hours since our jump, and I'm still feeling the buzz! The deal on Living Social was just the push we needed to get these 60-somethings to Louisburg for our first jumps. The fine folks at Triangle Skydiving were nothing if not fun-loving, consummate professionals. What a blast! Every step along the way led to a feeling of being "in good hands." All instructions were clear and easy to understand. The airplane felt a bit cramped (with all the gear on, lots of jumpers inside and I couldn't quite bend my knee), but we were only on board for less than 15 minutes - time enough to climb to 13,500 feet. Then the hatch rolled open, we scooted to the edge, and "fell out" on three! I agree with the statement in Rick N.'s review: "...you do not get the sinking feeling as on a roller coaster." The first gasp was for the view - it was a crystal clear morning with 80+ mile visibility! A good 60-second free fall, and then getting to learn how to steer and control the parachute - it was remarkably quiet under the canopy! Hmm... I've reread this review a number of times, and just cannot find the words to express the thrill. Suffice to say we'll be going back! read more

They were awesome and take safety really serious!!!! I read a lot of reviews before I went and the number 1 complaint was the wait people had to endure. However the wait is due to the weather! They test the winds with every jump to avoid any complications and make sure every jump is perfect. We hat 3 test jumpers jump with my group and they went out before we jumped! The quality of safety is soooooo worth the wait besides they don't control the weather! The people were extremely friendly, fun, and experienced the guy I jumped with had successfully completed over 5,000 jumps and never had an incident! I was sure this would be a once in a lifetime experience for me but it was sooo amazing I'm definitely going back!!! read more

Where do I begin? I'll start by saying it was an amazing experience! I did my research and decided it was something I wanted to do. I watched a few (just a few because I didn't want to scare myself and chicken out ... lol) videos and I was sold! I drove a little over an hour to get to this location but it was worth the drive. The process to sign up and make a reservation day/time was easy. I received an email back promptly with answers to all my questions. The staff was friendly, energetic, and helpful. The whole process from reservation to jump was a breeze. I thought that I'd be nervous but I was 100% calm. No nerves! This was my first time skydiving and it won't be my last! My friend and I had the best experience with Triangle Skydiving Center. This was our first time and we were nervous, but the staff made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. It definitely was the most exciting thing I've ever done, and I will absolutely recommend Triangle to others! My tandem instructor was phenomenal (thanks Charlie!) and everyone else I talked to loved theirs as well. I also paid for the video package so Nicki was our videographer and she was wonderful. We did wait about 1.5 hours before our jump but we still were only there for the allotted time (3 hrs total) that they tell you to schedule. Henry, or Henny Youngman was a brilliant Brit comedian. Among some of his more famous one-liners he once made joke about skydiving, saying "If at first you don't succeed... so much for skydiving." That, and "Take my wife--please." There are few human activities more thrilling than that feeling of a proper skydive: riding on an airplane that take you more than ten, twelve thousands feet above sea level (that is the height of almost ten Empire State Building, stacking bottom to top tip, one by one,) and then step over the threshold, and to plummet toward Earth at the blistering speed of 120mph free fall for nearly a minute, and then when the chute is pulled, you get a front row seat to a great view of the nature's majesty; looking 360 degrees around you, and your eyes will meet the the edge where sky and land meet, and looking directly beneath your feet, if you dare so, and you see something like a miniature desktop model of the airport and runways you just took off from not a few minutes ago. This should be on your bucket list; if not, it should be! The best part, everyone at Triangle Skydiving Center was extremely polite and professional. I have an absolutely fright of height, and my tandem partner was doing everything to ensure me I get to see another day, with both feet on the ground. They were very accommodating as well when it comes to scheduling. My party and myself had Groupon going into this, and we had a few conflicts; not only did they willing to extend the Groupon expiration date, they knew that we tried the best to get the dives done that day, and even with the impending foul weather coming, they still manage to get my group in on the last jump of the day, obviously after check and double check on the weather map and came to the conclusion that it was still safe to dive. Awesome place! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They walk you through exactly what's going to happen and make you feel at ease about jumping out of a plane haha. I would hiiighly suggest getting one of the first jump times. Even with being the first group, it seemed like a lot of waiting around. I couldn't imagine the wait if a number of groups ahead of us were all delayed like ours. The pictures we got from the wrist cams were awesome, but I'd recommend getting the nice photos! Back in March 2019, I was celebrating my 50th birthday, my daughter and I was scheduled to jump however; winds were too high. so they gave us a one year voucher. We went back in August 2019 and weather was all good. Front desk staff super nice. Jen, the only FEMALE instructor was AMAZING- she is definitely a BOSS! The videographer- Josh( I hope I got his name right) was too funny and put me a ease. I can check this off my bucket list. At the end of landing, I was asked... would I do it again... and I replied "HELL YEAH" Total time spent from check in to check out was approximately 2 hours. Keep in mind that weather can be a bi-polar mother! With that being said, we ended up being post-poned a few hours due to weather. Their main focus is your safety and making sure you live to jump another day! My instructor was Ben and my friend had a guy named Andy. These guys were absolutely awesome. On skydiving alone, this place would get five stars in my book. The instructors are knowledgeable and cool, plus you feel pretty safe considering you're jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet. That having been said... If you make a reservation, plan to wait...and wait and wait. This place is like some of the worst airlines you've ever flown...overbooking and underdelivering. Granted they were missing two of the jump instructors that day, but I can't see how that expanded what should have been a 1-2 hour wait to 5 hours. For instance, our appt was for noon and our "load number" number wasn't called till about 5:00. Some people left because they were so frustrated. So, point being, ask about average wait time on the day you plan to jump and plan on bringing plenty of sustenance cause food cannot be found for miles around save the vending machine on site and a gas station. In the end the jump itself is worth the buildup but they need to get their customer service together on the front end or people may choose to jump (for their first,second, whatever time) at a different facility. read more

There is nothing like plummeting to earth from 13,500 feet at 120 miles per hour for a full 60 seconds before being snatched up by a full size parachute that glides you to earth in a slow, lazy fall with plenty of time to enjoy amazing panoramic views of the horizon. That's exactly what you'll enjoy on a tandem jump at the Triangle Skydiving Center. The instructors are knowledgeable, informative, reassuring, and extremely experienced. We asked one instructor how many jumps he's made: he stopped counting at 2,500! They've handled people who have passed out, lost their lunch and otherwise freaked out on jumps. Basically, they've seen it all! My instructor, Randy, must have had a million jumps. I forgot all the instructions he gave in the exhilaration of the moment and still made it safely to earth. In fact, he said I did great, although I don't remember doing anything except, well, screaming! If this is your first jump, you''ll receive an official jumpers log that counts towards a certification and a nice little personalized certificate that you can proudly hang on a wall. If you can afford it, definitely get the video - it is worth it! You get the video plus another CD with a ton of gorgeous high quality pictures of you falling through the sky. MOST IMPORTANTLY: There is a LONG wait. Mine was 3 hours and I wish I had read these other reviews and brought sustenance. There are snack machines, but better to be prepared with your own food. There is a comfy little observation room with a poker table and it's fun to watch the others land. I got tandem jumping scheduling at 25th of April (got the ticket from February). Then the weather was awful and they postponed my schedule 15th of May. I waited 5 hours, some people jumped and some didn't so they postponed it next month (June). From the first day to this day we postponed it 6 times and it was all about the weather. Today I called them because tomorrow going to be rainy and they answered the call with an unexpected attitude (they had been always good till today). The guy on the phone were saying they going to jump for tomorrow. I said "look last time it was not raining at all but cloudy and you did not jump so I do not want to waste my 5 hours again" so I wanted to reschedule for a better weathered day. He was so angry and told me they can only arrange it in 4 weeks. I said that is my 6th time rescheduling and all the ladies I had talked for rescheduling arranged the other weekend so he could. Then he said he does not even doing rescheduling and directed me a lady and she arranged it next Sunday. If you guys cannot handle stressful situations then you better do not work there. We will see next weekend... I will bring a box of xanax maybe it will help you. read more

I had a wonderful experience. The only downside is the waiting around. We arrived a half hour early for our appointment at 2pm but we didn't end up jumping until 4:30. Worst customer service in the history of the entire universe. My friends and I were hoping to go skydiving over Labor Day, which is a Monday. TSC's website says they are closed Monday-Thursday, but their calendar had slots for several different jump times on Labor Day. We figured "Hey! Awesome. They are taking advantage of the Holiday." We booked the three of us to jump, paid $230+, signed our waivers, got our confirmation, and were set. We drove an hour out to TSC that Monday and discovered they were actually closed. Upon calling the facility, we were told that it was not their fault that their system showed that they were 1) open and 2) gave us a confirmation email and took our money and booked us. The person on the phone (we'll call her Melanie, because that is her name), told us that in order to get a refund we would need to pay an additional $25 service fee that they would not waive (because this was a system problem, not theirs). After my friend spoke with the owner (who hung up on her) we are left with the same story. The system failure is not their fault so they owe us nothing, and we cannot get a full refund for their mistake. We should have known better, I suppose. The three confirmation emails that claimed we were booked were also a fluke I assume. Despite them not giving a sh** that the system showed they were open on Labor Day, they have since changed the calendar to show they were closed. Covering their tracks, of course. This place is sh**. If you want to throw yourself out of a plane, I suggest looking elsewhere. They wasted a full day of ours and took money from us for a mistake that they made. read more

Wow...just WOW.... I did tandem skydiving for the first time (yes it was a bucket list) and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! My instructor (Greg E) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Even though we are jumping at 13,500 feet, I felt completely safe. It was quite a thrill ride and would recommend it to anyone. Scariest part of the day was signing away any right to sue the company or the equipment maker (unless you want to pay an additional $1000 non-refundable fee to retain your rights). Lots of warnings on paper and in video (with the bearded man) for possible risk of major bodily injury and death. I love the experience so much that I bought a certificate to go again!!!!!! read more

My husband and I did tandem skydiving for the first time at TSC this weekend, and had an AMAZING experience! I was really nervous, but my tandem instructor Nate explained everything in detail and really helped to calm my nerves. I really appreciated the time he spent to make me feel comfortable and safe -- he was a great instructor! We arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled time, watched a video, and signed some paperwork and then met our instructors, suited up, and boarded our plane. Based on the other reviews, we were prepared for a bit of a wait, but we jumped within an hour of our arrival. After some persuasion from the staff, we opted to pay a little extra to get video/photography -- and we were SO happy we did. We've already relived the experience over and over again. The actual jump was an adrenaline rush like nothing else I can explain and definitely worth every penny! I would recommend TSC to anyone! read more

I had been a repeat customer for the past 4 years until now. Customer service has taken a dive and beware - they are storing your credit card information perpetually! The last time I scheduled a jump, the person on the phone never asked for my card information nor advised me of the cancellation policy. I was sadly unable to make my appointment due to a work emergency and was surprised to find the next day that they had charged my credit card without getting the information or even informing me of such. Management replied to my request with a generic "We informed you of our policy at the time of booking" email (which was not the case) and refuses to contact me back. It has almost reached a year since I started my path in skydiving. I checked with several DZ's within driving range. TSC stood out above the rest and I made my choice. I made the right choice. The people at TSC value family, relationships, safety, love for the sport and the list goes on. Their drive isn't for money. It is for the love of the sport and those who love it as they do. Going through ground school and getting into the sky, I was surrounded by knowledgeable and attentive instructors. You will never be just a number coming to TSC. I felt confident in my choice to go into the sky and capable (for my level - still a baby at the sport even now though) to do what I needed to do to be safe while enjoying the experience. If you are on the fence about having this experience or where to go, do whatever you need to research and feel confident in your choice. But contact TSC when you are ready to speak with someone, they won't sugar coat anything to get you in the door and will genuinely care about you having a wonderful experience. I drove 8 hours from New York to come visit this amazing, professional, skilled, welcoming, honest family of skydivers to get in a few of my jumps that are needed for my A license. What an awesome experience. This weekend they were trying to set a North Carolina State Wingsuit formation skydiving record, and did I might add (Congrats!). Even with all that happening they still took the personal time to take care of every need and question that I had as a student. My Coaches, Brandon and Jonathan, were intelligent and skilled skydivers that through their information, knowledge, positivity, and absolutely apparent love for this sport would be able to instill confidence in ANY STUDENT! My interactions with a few of the other coaches were none less than Brandon and Jonathan same vibe of trustworthiness and welcoming nature. The DUO and DZ manager were a class act themselves. Professional, curious, and honest. They offered me a couch to stay at the Dez since I was coming in late so I would not have to stay at a hotel. When I was looking to buy new gloves after my first jump she offered me to use student gloves instead of just allowing me to purchase new ones ( didn't have to tell me about student gloves). Invited me to come to dinner with the staff and all the fun jumpers that evening. Even the jumpers that were new to the drop zone or were just visiting, had a personality and character that seemed as though they were meant to be with the rest of the skydivers here. The equipment was well maintained, the aircraft were clean and maintained, the atmosphere was light and fun, the facilities were very clean and well maintained and she had some awesome t-shirts, equipment, and gear for sell there as well as a vending machine with food and drink. Let me preface this review with this: the instructor/tandem person I had was excellent, and the actual freefall was great! Now, onto the fun stuff: I had an afternoon appointment and was told ahead of time that plan to spend up to half the day there. I knew the weather earlier had been bad, and was told there was some weather delays. We were also told that if we wanted to leave we could reschedule for another day/time. They could not give us an estimate of how long it would be before we got in the air, and we were good with that. After waiting for a few hours I checked back. Again, no estimate of when we would be able to go up. Another hour later, no estimate, no "if things all go great it will be xxx minutes/hours", not even - there are xxx people waiting ahead of you. They really need to work on their communication to customers. If I had known it was going to be that long of a wait we would have rescheduled. AND it wasn't until the last check that I was told people from the 8am time weren't going up until 1pm. If I had known that, again - we would have rescheduled. The whole business seems like a big daycare for everyone's kids. While I'm sure the owners embrace their kids and families, having kids race around next to you on scooters, being hit with frisbees, etc was not enjoyable. The upstairs "observation deck" was a joke - it may have well just been a daycare and very much looked like there was someone actually LIVING up there. Not a place you wanted to relax and wait for your flight. We were told on the website there was free wireless, but when we asked in person - it was down. I could have gotten so much work done while waiting - if I could have even found a decent place to sit down inside. I didn't know what to expect for the plane, but overheard several skydivers badmouthing it saying what a piece of crap it was. I had that impression also, but again - didn't know what to expect. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth for skydiving. Maybe some day I will try again - at a different business, but for now I am done with it. read more

I'm an avid skydiver here and as for the one who posted before me, I was there that day and sorry but if your not willing to wait around for the sake of safety, then just leave. Because honestly this dropzone is about doing everything under FAA regulations and about doing it in the safest way possible. So yes if your "wait" got extended longer than you were willing to stay then just leave. If the plane breaks, which is rare, then no one is jumping. That day you, or any of the other jumpers didn't pay TSC because NO ONE jumped. And as for food, there is a vending machine there full of food, water, and drinks of all kinds in the fridge reasonably priced. If your petty butt wants something special than you can drive the whole 2 mins up to the nearby gas station and get your drink of choice. And as for customer service this place has to be the nicest place I've ever been. You can't tell me that people did not say hello to you or ask if you were doing a tandem, are you nervous/excited. And thats not by just people who work there, but from other "non-staff-just jumping for fun-skydivers". Their customer service is just fine, I think its you that needs the attitude adjustment. But thanks for the review. In my opinion: ---I love this place. we skydive here, both my boyfriend and I (this is how we met over 2 years ago) and TSC offers such great rates with friendly faces. This definitely is not something to miss, the people this dropzone attracts are good people. Sometimes there are boogies or "skydiving festivals" or other special rates that go on that the website will inform people about. All of it is alot of fun, theres no fee just to come watch jumpers jump out of the sky so if your thinking of doing a tandem and aren't sure, just come for the day to observe. First off, sky diving is awesome in itself and this place was great. Definitely a awesome experience that I would recommend to everyone! I went with a group of 10 people and all of us each loved our instructors. The instructors were very knowledge, friendly, and willing to answer any questions and all of them had more than 4,000 jumps (mine had over 10,000). Most importantly, they were concerned with our safety and made us feel at ease the entire time. Our appointment was for 9:00 AM on Saturday, so we showed up on time. They had us fill out a very intense waiver and watch a video on the dangers of skydiving. After we filled out the forms, we proceeded to the hanger where we waited. We waited for hours and hours. We were the second group to arrive (a group of 3 before us), but the first of us did not begin to enter the plane until 12:45. My only complaint about this place was the wait and how inefficiently this place was run. The instructors did not show up till after us and they still had to pack their parachutes. Also, they did not check the plane before we arrived and since there was a engine light was on we had to wait over an hour for that alone. This all should have been avoided because my group had a reservation for over a month in advance. This wait wouldn't have been so bad if we had been prepared (or known about) the wait. We didn't have any food or drinks, so we had to live off the vending and drink machines. The plane I was in didn't end up taking off till around 1:25 PM (4 hrs after we had arrived). The last people in my group didn't finish jumping till around 3pm (6 hrs after we arrived). I'd recommend this place if you understand you're going to have to wait. I'd recommend bringing a cooler and food to have a picnic. They have a picnic table and several lawn chairs outside so you can watch the sky divers. On a sunny day, its a great location for a picnic and to relax. Triangle Skydiving Center is a great place to sky dive, since the instructors are fun and very knowledgeable. Additionally, they were concerned with making you feel safe throughout the entire jump. However, it is not very efficiently ran and you have to wait for a long time after you are supposed to arrive. What a wonderful experience! My husband and I did our first jump for my 63rd birthday. My tandem partner made me feel comfortable and safe. He explained everything and described it in a simple and straightforward manner. I highly recommend Triangle Skydiving to anyone interested in trying this! It was so much fun! read more
