The Triangle Dairy Bar is a good place to stop for drive-in style food and ice cream, located in the heart of Whitefield at the intersection of US 3 and NH 142, just south of King Square. The place offers outside takeout window service and there is covered picnic table seating nearby in front of the building, parking is a bit tight. For regular foods, they serve up burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken fingers, fried seafood (fish & chips, haddock, scallops, shrimp, whole belly clams), seafood rolls, lobster rolls, fries, onion rings, fried munchies. They also have Veggie Burgers and Impossible Burgers, bottled water, and Pepsi fountain drinks. For ice cream treats, they offer 26 flavors of Gifford's hard scoop ice cream including cones, waffle cones, sundaes, frappes, floats, banana splits (traditional & upside down), and a doggy dish (for the canine). A dish & spoon to go with your cone is $0.25 extra. I stopped for lunch at Triangle Dairy Bar very recently. I ordered the Fried Haddock Sandwich ($8) with Fries (add $2) and Cole Slaw and my food was boxed and ready in 10 minutes after ordering, prompt and friendly service. The portion of food was generous, filling up the square takeout box. The big sandwich had a big piece of fried haddock with a hot & moist texture inside the crispy fried battered coating, topped with leaf lettuce, tomato slices, and big dill pickle slices. The side of golden fries was firm and crisp. The cole slaw (shredded cabbage, carrots, red cabbage) was dense and had a sweet tangy flavor. Tartar sauce and ketchup were provided with my order. After having enough lunch, which was very good, I did not order ice cream for dessert, so perhaps I will on my next visit.

Ice cream and fried food. Small town atmosphere. Charming in some ways. No inside dining so if it is cool, bring a sweater.

Ever since I first heard about Super Secret Ice Cream, it's been on my must-try list. The concept…read moresounded so unique, and a flight of ice cream is basically my dream way to eat ice cream--I always struggle to choose just one flavor. The shop makes tiny-batch ice cream from scratch up in the White Mountains, and it shows in the quality. I went for the egg-carton flight, which came with six flavors: Slopeside Mint Chip, Trillium Coffee, Single Origin Chocolate, Honeycomb, Mount Cabot Maple, and one more I can't quite remember. Each scoop had its own personality--bright mint, bold coffee, rich chocolate, and the maple and honeycomb were especially standout. The space itself is a fun little spot, perfect for a hot day. Portions aren't huge, which I actually liked because it felt more like a treat or snack rather than an overload. My only gripe is that the flavors aren't labeled on the carton, so it can be a bit of a guessing game figuring out what you're tasting. Overall though, between the creativity, the locally inspired flavors, and the chance to try a bunch at once, it's absolutely worth the stop if you're in the area.

It has won various awards, and after just one taste of their ice cream, you'll think to yourself: "Ah, okay - now it all makes sense." I'm finding it hard to accurately describe the flavor explosion when I took a bite of the strawberry shortcake ice cream. It was sweet and tangy, with a crumbly crunch in every bite from the graham cracker. It's as if the strawberry shortcake pops you got from the ice cream truck as a kid were somehow 10 times more delicious and folded into creamy, strawberry ice cream. The place itself is adorable, with plenty of options for outdoor seating both in the front and back. There's even a board where you can spell out words with magnetic letters and a giant checkers game. They've somehow nailed incredible ice cream with a super cool vibe. Service is always fast, friendly, and happy to help you find the right flavor by letting you sample different options. This place is a MUST visit in the Western White Mountains!

The ice cream prices before tax (in 2020) are reasonable, Soft Serve/Hard Scoop: Kids ($2.50/$3.00-1 scoop), Small ($3.25/$3.75-2 scoops), Large ($4.25/$4.75-3 scoops). They offer several specialty sundaes ($3.50-$7.50) including: Roady Toasty - Dipped waffle cone, 2 scoops of smores ice cream, marshmallow topping, chocolate sprinkles A River Runs Through It - Fly fish fudge ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream and 2 gummy worms The Turtle Shell - Mint chocolate chip ice cream, caramel, whipped cream & peanuts Maple Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream topped with maple syrup (Fuller's Sugarhouse), whipped cream, cherry Dish of Dirt - soft serve ice cream, Oreos, hot fudge, gummy worms, chocolate sprinkles The Unicorn - Unicorn ice cream, sugar cone, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles in a dish Brownie Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream, 1 brownie, any sundae toppings, whipped cream, 2 cherries Death By Peanut Butter - Peanut butter pie ice cream, peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream Trying to stay cool on a sunny day, I made a stop at Scoops On Main for some ice cream. I needed something small, but different than the traditional scoop ice cream. I ordered a The Unicorn Kids Size Sundae ($3.50 plus tax), which had Gifford's Unicorn ice cream, a sugar cone horn, whipped cream topped with rainbow sprinkles. This sweet colorful sundae was really good and refreshing to enjoy, especially on an 88 degree day in the North Country. Picnic table seating in front of the shop and parking along side of building and along Main Street.

The problem is you did not think about the average customers' desires. Ice Cream delivered quickly. Food hot, & tasty, with the whole order ready at the same time. I do not who sold you your ordering & payment software, but it does not serve you well. It may make you book work easy but makes you customer's wait while someone gets the computer to work. Then the order is never correct. Two things; 1 window for ice cream the other for food. this will cut down on confusion and allow you to focus on the orders that need to be fast i.e. ice cream vs. orders that take time, like fresh fried food. 2. Go, to paper orders at the ice cream window. This will increase the speed of order delivery. This will also decrease the errors in delivering orders. I have never had a Ice Cream order correctly filled at you place. Some times your food is great other times uneatable. Next year make your menu simple make just soft serve ice cream its you want to be a seafood place. If you want to be an ice cream place, limit your food offerings. Your current course will only lead to failure. You have put too much into this to fail by trying to be all things but not one well.
