This was a single btw Hubby is a soft serve guy and he got a single too - raspberry and chocolate twist which he said was absolutely delicious. They have 4 sizes: baby, single, double and XL. Best ice cream in New England IMO. We were pleasantly surprised that they expanded. The farm store is much bigger and offers so many interesting local products. Service was friendly. Note that they only take cash at the ice cream windows but the store takes card.

There is a section with Vermont beers that is separate from the other beer section. They also sell wine. The deli had two specials for Halloween, one chicken sandwich and one beef one. I chose the chicken sandwich. It had a lot of vegetables and tasted good. The people doing the deli seemed very happy. That's very different from most delis where it is just a job. That made the experience pleasant. Once we got our sandwiches, we went outside to the picnic tables next door at the ice cream place. I think that place is owned by the same people. The tables were very clean and the view of the village was beautiful. We enjoyed our lunch here and now we know why it sees a lot of business.

I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. I called and spoke to a rep in Minnesota who said "Oh well if you call us we can sometimes get the delivery sooner as we have different calendar than the online system. We can deliver it this Wednesday." That was 5 days away. I took the offer. Tuesday night I logged in to check my account and noticed that the delivery time set was not updated. I called, they updated it. When the order didnt come on Wednesday, I hunted around for a local phone # to hopefully try and get in touch with the delivery truck. Someone that answered in the local office said "Not sure why they told you it would be delivered today. Our delivery truck is out of town and won't be back until tomorrow at the earliest!" He was nice enough to pack my order up and personally drop it off on his way home. But still, when its so obvious that people in Minnesota don't have a clue what the LOCAL truck days and delivery times are, then they should stop telling people that call that they can do different or earlier times. So I decided I'm not doing business and wanted to close my account. Lo and behold, I can't seemingly close my account. I log in and check my profile, account settings etc. There is ZERO option to "delete" or "close" my account. Really??? In this day and age of high security and consumer convenience, I would think I as the consumer would know if I want my info deleted or my account closed. It took 3 chats, 4 messages on social media and no less than 5 phone calls and 2 emails over a 3 week period for Schwan's to acknowledge that I'm serious about NOT doing business with them. The online account STILL is not deleted like I asked last week!!!! Maddening. If you're expecting this company to care about your wishes and account security think again. They only care about themselves.

I decided to drive down from Montreal by myself. Ladies, never hesitate to take the solo road trip when you get a chance :) I had an awesome time! I had not done a solo visit to Schilling since 2018 and was a bit nervous about it being awkward, but it wasn't at all. Schilling is a good spot if you are going out solo (and are the sociable type). I spoke to many very friendly and nice people and Jeremy the bartender looked after me very well. And since I had no pesky Boyfriend getting bored (he doesn't like craft breweries, lol), I was able to try many different beers throughout the afternoon & evening - Vorhe, Schlaumieir, Betula, Combover, Ponyhawk, and Kinsman (thanks for the recommendation on that one - it's a new fave!) Great atmosphere for Annafest with live outdoor music, delicious foods and beautiful weather by the river. I'll be back soon and can't wait for Oktoberfest in a couple months!

We found Tuttles Family Diner on the map and rolled in just after breakfast hours -- missed pancakes by about 10 minutes. Bummer. But brunch made up for it in every way. Our server, Stevie, was an absolute gem -- part storyteller, part comedian, and clearly part of Tuttles' DNA. The place itself feels like it's been around forever (over 50 years, in fact), and you can tell why it's lasted that long. Great food, good vibes, and plenty of small-town charm. The prices here seem fair. There is picnic table seating in front and a gated backyard with a large grassy area overlooking the Upper Valley landscape, picnic table seating with foldable umbrellas, reclining chairs, chicken coop, and a wood fired "pizza oven." Earlier in May, I had stopped by, but they were not open yet for the season. I stopped by last week and they were open. However, no one was at the window, so I ended up going into the Village Store and a staff member went over to the ice cream stand. I chose a Vermonter Sundae ($7.50) which had maple soft serve, maple syrup, maple crunch, topped with whipped cream & cherry. This ultimate maple sundae is why I drive to Vermont for ice cream. I've been a fan of the maple creemee since a relative Vermonter introduced it to me years ago. I got a maple soft serve loaded this time!
