They also sold coffee in a little coffee room off to the side, and you could add flavors and stuff to your cup. They have a nice little set up here! It's clean and convenient! There is a section with Vermont beers that is separate from the other beer section. They also sell wine. The deli had two specials for Halloween, one chicken sandwich and one beef one. I chose the chicken sandwich. It had a lot of vegetables and tasted good. The people doing the deli seemed very happy. That's very different from most delis where it is just a job. That made the experience pleasant. Once we got our sandwiches, we went outside to the picnic tables next door at the ice cream place. I think that place is owned by the same people. The tables were very clean and the view of the village was beautiful. We enjoyed our lunch here and now we know why it sees a lot of business.

Unfortunately, I've purchased a few things including vegetables and snacks that have been old/stale. Two examples (of many): an english cucumber went moldy in my fridge after 3 days. A bag of relatively expensive cheese popcorn tasted old and stale. And I paid a premium price for these items! On the other hand, they do sell some bread from local bakeries and the deli and prepared foods look good. The beer dept is awesome! So, my plan is to buy carefully and selectively going forward. Clearly the products don't either turn from volume nor do they get removed from shelves before they're old - so be selective if you shop here and look closely and products and dates.

The stench in the air upon entering the room should have been enough of a warning. But, I was there, so I gave it a shot. Placing the order was a bit challenging as English is not the first language of the current owners. When you make your way to the "dining room", a good number of house flys will greet you. The dining area is in shambles and not at all a place generate an appetite. There was a Christmas tree lit up in the corner. There were six flavors of coffee advertised,, they offered only two. When the food was delivered, that told the rest of the story, greasy and stale. The jelly for the toast was so old that it was separated in its container. Most of what was ordered was left in the trash can. My opinion only, if you are going to eat here, you may be taking your health into your own hands. Too bad Rae's cafe across the street is not open on weekends. Their breakfasts are outstanding!

I stopped in here recently and headed to the deli counter in the back of the store. I filled out a sub order form with customizations and gave it to the lady behind the deli counter. I ordered a 12" Cranberry Chicken Salad Sub ($7.99 plus tax) with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles, which was made to order and ready wrapped in plastic in 5 minutes. I paid for my sub at the front register. The sub was very heavy, a thick soft white sub roll filled up with lettuce, tomato slices, onions, and plenty of cranberry chicken salad (in a mayo dressing) topped with dill pickle chips. I enjoyed half of the sub in my car, which was very filling to eat, very good. I enjoyed the other half of the sub for lunch the next day. Next time I'm in this neck of the woods, I will have to stop in again and order one of their Spicy Western BBQ burgers with a Greek pasta salad.
