Today, I tried to drop my Beta XTrainer off at triangle cycles. I wanted the TUBLISS system installed on my bike. The TUBLISS system replaces the tubes in the tire to prevent flats, as I have already popped two tubes. I ordered the TUBLISS system from Triangle Cycles from the parts desk, then we moved to the service desk. They informed me it would be at least two weeks until they could do anything with the bike. This to me wasn't a problem; I travel a lot for work and wouldn't be home for three weeks. Until this point, everything was fine. I assume the individual who then interjected was a service tech, "he would have to ask the service manager if they could take my bike." This arose because they are not a Beta dealer. Waiting upon the verdict from the service manager; I assumed they would not have an issue. The service tech returned stating, "We won't take the whole bike. You need to take the rims off the bike, then you can bring the rims to us for the service." Installation of the TUBLISS system requires you to generally drill a new hole in the rim, and install the required components. With that said, they were comfortable drilling holes in my rim. They were con comfortable or competent enough to take the to axles nuts off the bike. The tech stated they did not have the correct specs for the bike to remove the two axles off of the bike. Now let's equate this to any other type of mechanic shop. I drive a ford truck. If I popped a tire, and the only shop around was a Chevy dealership. I expect to be able to drop my truck off, and have new tires installed with no issue. If they do not have the correct specs for torquing my lug nuts down; I assume they can consult the internet or reach out to a Ford dealer to retrieve the information. In conclusion, this to me seems like a ploy for you to purchase the brands that they carry. Therefore, you are obliged to spend more money with them. This would not be acceptable behavior from any other vehicle service station. Unless they needed special tools or a computer system to properly diagnose the issue. Seeing as all they needed was a wrench; this is not that case. read more

Let me tell you about Triangle Cycles in Danville, VA. As a female motorcycle rider, I rolled in there from out of town (on a trip) with a girlfriend. I thought something was wrong with my bike - they could have run circles around me with part replacements, labor, etc. Instead, they informed me that I did NOT need the part I thought I did. WHAT? My bike turned out to be just fine... and they didn't try to sell me a part I didn't need (which they easily could have done). FEMALE FRIENDLY - TRUSTWORTHY - RELIABLE!
