I would never recommend this company. For my first appointment- they ever called or notified me at all that they weren't coming- but had instead decided to order a part. They do not answer their phones, or return calls or emails - so I just waited all day, until finally just before 5PM someone answered. After that they made 4 trips and my ovens still had the same problem. This included 1 more no show appointment. On Nov 14 2024 we worked with a repairman Greg who replaced the igniter and burner on my 10-year-old Whirlpool oven, which fixed things until February 2025. I called back and the operator for TAR said they no longer service in Chapel Hill. (Where else?) I'm disappointed that TAR would not stand behind their work after I spent $450 with them. read more

I was having an issue with my refrigerator and called to make an appointment with Triangle Appliance Repair. I was informed that they were quite busy and would make their best effort to meet my needs in the next week. Within a few hours I was informed that a repairman would be at my home the following Monday between 1:30 and 3:30. I have been using Triangle for a few years. They have always been prompt, professional and responsive. Not being able to use your appliance is indeed frustrating but remember that getting the right part can take time. We had to wait for parts for our dishwasher for a few weeks. During a routine service call - the tech found a flaw in the tub and it had to be replaced. They are on deck to do a repair to my fridge. We lost the freezer and scheduled the repair. I read other ratings of how unhappy folks were with Triangle. This hasn't been my experience. They have been wonderful. I think folks fail to realize that these folks are technicians- not magicians. They do a great job but it takes diagnostic work and having to wait on parts. read more

I have worked with these folks on numerous occasions since they are the only company that services my type of appliances. The guys who show up to do the work are professional, but don't always fix the problem the first time. My main issue with this company is that the efficacy of their office management is sorely lacking. For example, it takes WEEKS to get an appointment and you won't know when that appointment is until the day of. They assume that you have no schedule whatsoever. They call the day of at 7am and tell you that they are coming that day between 3pm-5pm (for example). As if you can just cancel your whole day around them because they don't know how to schedule properly. And if you can't do it during that offered time slot, be prepared for it will take WEEKS to get you back on the schedule. If you have a problem with the work or the repair not being successful, no one takes responsibility, they pass the buck and blame other employees. In addition, they don't sign their name to email responses so you can't say who you spoke to and then they can't be held accountable or assist you in resolving the matter. They have had to return multiple times because they did not perform the work properly the first time. This took months to get them to return, with sending multiple emails or phone calls, although they had no problem cashing my check within two days. They really need to hire a professional business or office manager, this company is a HUGE pain in the ass to work with. If I was not forced to work with them, I'd never call them again. I highly recommend finding a professionally run company. read more

They diagnosed our oven over the phone & ordered up the part before coming to the house, so we only had to pay for one trip. Installer was quick, polite & professional. I also like that he called before arriving & had on a company shirt. No question when he arrived he was the repairman. read more

I am so happy that I have my freezer back! After months of battling with the warranty folks over coverage, I decided to call Triangle Appliance Repair. They were recommended as a Frigidaire repair specialist. I was given three numbers but they were the only one to respond. Allison was able to get a tech out to diagnose the issue within a few days. They ordered the part immediately and a week later, I was able to go shopping because my freezer was alive! I was referred to Triangle Appliance Repair after LG diagnosed my Refrigerator defrost problem, over the phone. LG ordered the new main board and had it shipped directly to TAR. A week later, Kenny showed up (after calling 10 mins ahead of time) and promptly replaced my mainboard. He also cleared a huge ice blockage in my freezer - caused by the faulty defrost cycle. After completing the repairs, Kenny verified that the refrig/freezer was cooling properly, tidied up his work area, and was on his way. Thanks Triangle Appliance Repair for a great repair experience. As a customer for over five years, I've been completely satisfied with service, parts and charges. Recently, our 10-year-old dryer, a technically-sophisticated, Fisher & Paykel, EcoSmart, has begun to cut off prematurely. Sometimes, it trips a circuit breaker but then resumes normal functioning; it's confusing. I finally called for service on the Tuesday after Labor Day, and they could not promise that an appointment could be scheduled until the next week due to the holiday work backlog. Yet, my service record and model number, which they confirmed on the phone was already on file, also meant that the service caller would be prepared to act promptly, when available to schedule a visit. Two days later, despite the heavy workload, the scheduler called to make a Friday appointment for service, despite the earlier warning of next week. The next day, Dylan called before the promised time and advised that he was on the way. His thorough examination, including his running the diagnostic computer tests from the warranty's factory pamphlet and visual inspection, revealed nothing. So, he called the boss for help. He left, without asking for a payment and advised us of a visit from the owner, Todd Long, early next week. The dryer worked when he left and performed all weekend without any issues, so he did something! Sure enough, on Monday, we got a call that the owner/operator, Todd Long, would visit between 9:00 and 9:30 on Wednesday morning. At 9:15, Long called to advise that he would arrive in just minutes. As promised, he got to our home before 9:30 and reviewed the problem again to insure a complete history. After inspecting the dryer, he concluded that our problem, based on his 30 years of experience, probably came from an old circuit breaker, which he advised me to wait to replace if the dryer cut off again. Perhaps our resetting the breaker several times recently had retightened the spring, and even its replacement might be avoided. Mr. Long advised that he would send a bill after consulting with his technician, Dylan, who visited on Friday afternoon. Now, how many honest men have you encountered lately, who didn't replace a part just to make a buck and to overcharge you for his trouble? Filed a warranty claim on a built-in microwave combo. Electrolux assigned these guys to fix it. They diagnose, determine it's a bad display board, and order the part. Electrolux can't get the part after a while, and opt for a replacement. They deliver it, and Triangle Appliance Repair is supposed to install. I arrange a day with them, they say they'll call the day before to confirm a time. They don't call. I try calling them, and they don't pick up. After several days of trying to get a hold of them, I decide to just install it myself (really not easy). The funny part is that they must have told Electrolux that they finished the job, because I got a survey from them about it. That one was fun to fill out! read more

We had a problem with our refrigerator, and I called this company because they had a good review....but after several attempts at getting our ice maker fixed... I have given up! They only make appointments during the day...which is when normal people work, and they won't even answer their phones after 4:30pm in the daytime. I have had it with this company. I really hope the owner reads these. We purchased a new house and this company is who installed the refrigerator. One of the produce drawers broke after opening it. Not cracked, broke. I called to get it replaced and was told a "technician" had to come out and inspect it. They DO NOT make advanced appointments. You have to call and ask, then they tell you when they will be by that day. I guess they model themselves after Time Warner Cable, but worse. I took off work to meet the repair guy, but nobody showed up. I called the dispatch and was told he tried to call me. I said I received no phone call. The dispatcher said that's impossible, because this technician was a veteran. I tried to say maybe he made a mistake, but to no avail. He assured me that a veteran like that never makes those kinds of mistakes. How can you tell a customer that they are in the wrong when I am standing in my house and received no call? The only thing he could do was reschedule again for another day, but he couldn't tell me when. How is that a helping a customer? I asked him to order me a drawer please because it's broken. The drawer broke.. After arguing for ten minutes about it, he said he would. Flash forward two weeks... I called back to see when the drawer would be in. Of course, they hadn't ordered it and said I would have to contact Frigidaire myself, because it's a cosmetic repair, not a broken part. I assured him it was broken, not cracked and it's not cosmetic. He would not budge. I asked why he didn't tell me this two weeks ago and he said he was just doing his job. Terrible customer service. This company is a horror show. The LED went out on the display panel of my Kitchenaid oven. So I called, told them the model and serial number of my out of warranty oven, and then sweaty old Kenny arrives (very late), reads off the serial number and model number and asks me for a check for 95 bucks! Wha-a-a-a-at? I refuse to give it to him and call the office. They say, yeah, he shouldn't have done that, I see here you called already, blah blah blah. Then I get a call from the office saying we have the part, but please call about our what you owe. So I call. Nobody. No call back. So I say, to hell with it. After all, the oven works anyway. Then a few weeks later I call and talk to Jill and she goes on about their overhead, their costs, etc. etc...And says we can come next Friday, and I ask how much. She says: 260 for the part and 480 altogether. 220 bucks to replace an LED? Are you nuts?! That's nearly 500 dollars to replace an LED. Might as well buy a new stove. Called for warranty service on a Bosch dishwasher that would not stop at the end of a cycle. it took 5 days for 2 technicians to show up to say it was the detergent we were using, the water wasn't hot enough, etc. When my husband called them out on those lame excuses they ordered a new power board. Power board arrives at Triangle on 11/8. We called on 11/11 to see what the status was. They finally had time to install it on 11/15. The tech came, installed the board and didn't feel it was necessary to test it. he also tried to get us to pay for the service call. When reminded it was under warranty he kind of chuckled and said, "oh yeah...huh". We tried the washer that evening and, sure enough, the washer was not fixed. We called Bosch and they called Triangle who has no record of a service call to our home (they were there twice), no record of the board needing to be ordered- nothing. And they told this to Bosch on the very day the technician was at our home. The triangle technicians that came to our home (3 different ones) give the impression that they would rather be anywhere other then doing their job, they are obviously lacking skills in keeping good records and their diagnosis skills need a lot of work. Unfortunately they are the only authorized repair service for Bosch warranty work in the area. I'm currently communicating with Bosch about a buy-back on this unit. I would have replaced it with another Bosch but knowing Triangle is the only authorized service, we will chose a different brand- one that has some one else servicing it. read more

There original delivery was scheduled out a week after they had our replacement unit and cancelled the day of delivery. They were not flexible with rescheduling and they were finally an hour late. The replacement unit that was brought was damaged and we refused delivery. Will never deal with them again. read more

I would strongly recommend NOT using this company. Between miscommunication with the repair person sent, regarding ordering a part for my machine, waiting a few weeks because I hadn't heard from them; then when I called them again they said they were waiting on me to call back to order the part. When the part arrives, the owner comes to install the part. Instead of installing the part, he runs a "diagnostic test" on my machine and tells me nothing is wrong. He refuses to install the part. I asked him about the rep who came first and saw the wet clothes in my washing machine, and he seemed to imply that the serviceman who came first didn't know what he was doing and that he needed to see what was wrong. He was not willing to wait until I ran a cycle of clothes to see where the machine gets stuck. This is a brand new Whirlpool washing machine, purchased in January 2022 that was not completing the dry and spin cycle. HE CAME WITH THE PART AND REFUSED TO INSTALL IT!!! I don't see how an appliance repair could have gone any better than this one. The appointment was easily made, confirmed, verified the day of service and the repairman called when he was on the way. He had diagnosed the problem before arriving, having looked up a known problem with Whirlpool refrigerators. He completed the repair in under 15 minutes and could have left at that point. Instead, he went to work melting all the ice that had formed and pouring water through the drains to make certain it was working as it should. The repairman was very pleasant, explained exactly what he was doing and was certainly very competent. This was the first time I ever used this service and now I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. read more

This company doesn't even deserve a star - they don't deserve to be open. I called last Monday to make an appointment for my washing machine - they confirmed a Friday morning opening. Friday morning came and went and I heard nothing from them so I called the office and got a very long and lengthy voice mail. I left 2 very polite and patient messages on their voice mail and no one bothered to call or follow up with me. I wasn't expecting to take the whole day off from work but that's what happened because I was afraid they'd show up if I left the house. Now I still have a broken washer, dirty laundry and 1 day less in my vacation bank at work. Don't even bother calling these people. I especially am thankful to the lady that answers the phones and makes appointments! She encouraged me to ask the company to cover some of the expenses and surprisingly they did! A repairman came out to the house to repair our refrigerator and prior to paying we asked him to provide us with a receipt that included the work that was done, the diagnosis made by the company and a statement of the warranty for parts and labor. The repairman said he could not provide us with such a receipt and continued to demand payment. We restated our need for the receipt and the repairman got combative in a way that made us uncomfortable having him in our home. We asked him to leave and requested that he have the office send us the receipt so that we could then make payment. He honored our request to leave but not before he brusquely pulled from my hand the paper he had previously handed me. The repairman also did not conduct himself well during the repair. Several times he dismissed our request to protect the refrigerator door from being damaged by the wall. Finally WE placed a shim behind the wheel so that the refrigerator door had the necessary clearance. Throughout the servicing the repairman expressed frustration and we believe that he was cursing to himself at a low volume, but not low enough for it to go unheard. We expect people who come into our home to treat us with respect and make us feel comfortable in their presence. This was not the case and we would never have this company come back to our home. read more

They fixed my LG washing machine, which had stopped spinning. Keep in mind if you have LG that there is a 10 year warranty on certain parts that have to be ordered from LG, since they are free of charge. You have to cover labor costs for repairs if you've had your machine for over a year. They are listed on the LG website as an authorized repair service, but LG customer service may tell you otherwise in error. read more

This company was assigned to repair my dishwasher through Kitchen Aid. They showed up on time, but the technician spent an hour and then claimed he fixed the appliance by reversing the gasket. But when I ran the dishwasher it leaked and the gasket fell out. When I called to ask for a competent repair person to come back and actually fix the problem, they couldn't give me an appointment. Said they would call me in about a week when they had an opening. Awful service. I would NEVER use them if I had a choice. read more

I had a problem with my LG washing machine. I called Triangle and they called me back with a tip that allowed me to fix it myself.

We had a tricky washing machine problem that they figured out and fixed. (Note: we have a Fisher Paykel washing machine -- hard to find a repair shop for this brand.) It took a couple of re-visits to get it all taken care of, and they worked quickly, were prompt, and were great. Very friendly and easy to work with. We have tried numerous times to get our refrigerator fixed over the past two months. They have canceled on us and not shown up. They won't return voicemails or answer calls during working hours. They diagnosed two issues with our machine when they finally did arrive. One problem was a broken ice maker. Flash forward another few weeks and another cancelation, the ice maker has started working again with no repair (so, was it actually ever broken? I think not). We are so so frustrated but they are the only Whirlpool authorized repair company in our area. read more

I have a dryer that needs repair. Lowes warranty made an appointment for me with Triangle Appliance. Lowes can schedule appointments directly. I got a confirmation email with date of repair and took the day off from work. I called Triangle Appliance the morning of the appointment and they would not honor the appointment even though I was in their system. They said they were the only ones that could make a service appointment and " didn't care" that Lowes made the appointment. They said the would call me the night before the appointment with a 2 hour apt window. I said could not take a day of work with such short notice. He said that was the way they did appointments period. I called Lowes who in turn called Triangle Appliance, they would not work with us. Fortunately Lowes found another service company. Triangle Repair called later to set an appointment, when I told him we found another service company, he hung up on me! Rude and unprofessional and this was before they even stepped in the house. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had a problem with the service. read more

Triangle Appliance repair has stalled repairing our refrigerator. Our refrigerator was installed in April 2011. It is now July 18, 2011. They have repaired our fridge 3 times. Each time, the unit is not fixed. The fridge temperature set at the coldest setting 33degrees, maintains a temperature of 39-40. If you open the door it goes up to 41-42 degrees. This is unsafe for food. Currently, we are trying to get records from Triangle Appliance. We requested them since last Monday. They said they do not have time to get them for me. read more
