I got put with Emily,NP & had my annual visit with her and didn't really vibe with her. She was a new NP when I saw her & I could tell that she still had a lot to learn (I'm in the medical field myself). I didn't feel confident in her knowledge of things & she didn't seem to care about some of my concerns that I had brought up with her about a past test result or know too much about it. We don't know everything but please admit it & don't blow things off because you don't know. I had to come back in for some chronic foot pain that I was having, etiology unknown so when I called to schedule an appointment I asked not to see her again. I was told that they would have to get permission from the office manager to switch which I thought was odd. I told them why I wanted to switch and I got lucky and the office manager allowed me to but then I was asked "which NP would you like to see?" They gave me the names of all of them but I didn't have a clue who the rest were so I told them I wanted to see someone who was as good as Alisha & smart/knowledgable like she was. I got placed with Jona,NP & I was pleasantly surprised. Her MA talked very highly of her when we were meeting as I told her that this was going to be my first time seeing her. Jona,NP listened to my concerns and followed thru with my wishes. She didn't rush our time together. I ended up having to follow up with a specialist for my chronic foot pain because the X-ray that was done didn't explain my pain. Of course I've seen Jona,NP several times since then for my yearly wellness exams & when I've been sick. She's pretty easy to get in to see and I'm never waiting very long in the waiting room or the exam room. I love how this office has a lab located inside. I went yesterday to get some labs drawn and the phlebotomist has always really nice, friendly and efficient when I've been in there. It's easy to get a real person when calling the office for any questions that I have or to make an appointment which I appreciate. I love how this office is close to home.

She walked in aggressively and had absolutely no patience for somebody with doctor office anxiety and whitecoat syndrome (which I told them I had when I made this appointment three weeks ago). She was in such a hurry that she had absolutely no time to listen to me explain anything I needed because I've been dealing with a lot, and she took it as me being argumentative. She kept trying to refer me to something I didn't ask for... apparently her mind was already made up as to what the appointment was supposed to be for so she got up, said she couldn't help me and walked out. The next person to walk in was the office administrator telling me the they can't help me at that practice and I am to leave. NO compassion, NO empathy, and I certainly wouldn't go here if you have any kind of mental health issues. They don't seem to have time for any of that

This time, I was going for blood work for genetic testing and a physical to be on the safe side. I had my first appointment with Dr. Pingol on 12/26/12 at 2:15. I was seen at 2:42 which was frustrating, but I could hear her talking to a male patient in the other room (the patient had a booming voice so I could hear him through the walls) so I can let it slide. Dr. Pingol was really friendly. She went over my blood work and said everything was perfect. She asked me about my skin (which the dermatologist I saw was too busy to check out) and said she could tell I was stressed and not sleeping enough which was why my skin was out of whack. Both of those guesses were true! She told me to stay away from anything with estrogen & to eat more greens. As somebody who is leery about taking so much as an aspirin, I appreciated that she wasn't suggesting pharmaceuticals but real food, sleep & relaxation. I had a pap while I was there and I liked she wasn't like other ob/gyn doctors who want to talk about boyfriends and sex lives in a gossipy way like they're your friend while they work on you. I liked that she didn't ask me if I wanted bc and I didn't need to explain that I was single because she was strictly about the procedure. My appointment was nearly an hour and I liked that she took the time to listen to my concerns and explain my (completely perfect) test results. I'd definitely see her again.

It often took several days to receive a call back, and I had to track down my own results -- something no patient should have to do. A "concierge" experience should mean better access and communication, not less. There are plenty of doctors in this city offering concierge care, but before asking patients to pay more, the basics of follow-up, communication, and respect for patients' time should already be in place. I also think that customer service should be respected (my two cents). The phone service is absolutely terrible. Please let's be kind, be compassionate and be patient

As a patient for 18 months, I have found this office to be run efficiently and mindful of not wasting patients time. Dr. Chuang has her team manage its appointments calendar so that patients are seen at the time scheduled, or no more than + or minus 15 minutes. As someone who previously saw doctors at Southwest Medical Group and waited up to 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment, Dr Chuang gives her clients ample opportunity to identify issues. The team starts its patient visit with an intake interview by a nurse or aide who record the patient's vital statistics, confirms current/new medications and asks about reasons for visit, etc. Following the intake interview, the patients moves to one of the examination rooms, where Dr. Chuang or her Physicians Assistant , Abigail, queries the patient about their health and performs customary checks of health through examinations where necessary. If the Physician Assistant (PA) conducts the initial exam and the patient's needs are met, the PA records the steps taken and then briefly reviews the case with Dr. Chuang. In my visits, I have always seen Dr. Chuang following the PA, though in some cases, I was actually surprised because the PA had addressed my needs through the exam and provision of a prescription or renewal as the case may be. I have received inoculations, had my blood tests taken at the office or referrals promptly made as needed. In my experience where many medical offices seem like being processed through a factory, Dr Chuang and her team are professional, courteous and very responsive.
