Bill Cooper Jr. Is a pretty shifty guy that I worked for as a dump truck driver for 3 weeks before…read moreI saw first hand how he operated and I was ashamed to be affiliated with him and his business so I quit I hired on when he was traveling through MN and WI about 2 yrs ago when he placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a CDL driver. His equipment was all new and that impressed me but things went bad immediately after I started . Fuel cards were being declined , the motel we were at in Wisconsin kept telling us that his CC kept getting declined and he had to show up several times to pay the bill in cash. We would load up in the morning with asphalt on 2 trucks and wait in Walmart parking lots while Bill drove around in his pickup door to door trying to get jobs while claiming to homeowners his deals on "leftover " material from neighbors jobs. Lie. We were never allowed to speak a word to homeowner even if they approached us because Bill didn't want us to contradict his lies to customers. In one day , we were asked to leave 3 jobs by the homeowner before we finished because of shoddy work and upcharging. The day I quit after 3 weeks, sheriff's deputies came to our hotel in Hudson About complaints from locals and Bill never showed up , he hid because he never stayed in the same hotels as he out his workers in. Then when the deputies finally left , we were called by Bill and told to pack fast because we were leaving the motel as soon as it got dark out . I told him then I was done and going home and I was told I would be paid for the week since I worked until Friday night and 3 times the money never came. Then he blocked my calls and they fled in the night to the New York area where he put on a local company DOT number and credentials . He runs so illegal. I had to change state license plates 2x , he was cited by wi DOT for no lettering or DOT numbers on this trucks and my very first day I was given the sign to pull into Hudson scale and he told us to just ignore and run it because we had got him earlier for violations but I went in the scale and of course written up for several violations on his equipment and registration. He had FLA1 name on his trucks but had checks for jobs written out to Bees Paving . I had most of the addresses to the customers I drove to for the 3 weeks in my personal GPS and I contacted the local law enforcement for those counties so they could investigate the complaints and I don't think he will be back in MN or Wi anytime soon. Ps. I have cell phone pics and the actual DOT tickets for the company to back up what I'm saying. The week after I quit, his crew leader of 2 yrs left too because his conscience told him what we were doing wasn't wrong. He called to let me know Bill had run off to New York in the night and changed name on the trucks again and I'm sorry for anyone Bill hurt .
