Bill Cooper Jr. Is a pretty shifty guy that I worked for as a dump truck driver for 3 weeks before…read moreI saw first hand how he operated and I was ashamed to be affiliated with him and his business so I quit I hired on when he was traveling through MN and WI about 2 yrs ago when he placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a CDL driver. His equipment was all new and that impressed me but things went bad immediately after I started . Fuel cards were being declined , the motel we were at in Wisconsin kept telling us that his CC kept getting declined and he had to show up several times to pay the bill in cash. We would load up in the morning with asphalt on 2 trucks and wait in Walmart parking lots while Bill drove around in his pickup door to door trying to get jobs while claiming to homeowners his deals on "leftover " material from neighbors jobs. Lie. We were never allowed to speak a word to homeowner even if they approached us because Bill didn't want us to contradict his lies to customers. In one day , we were asked to leave 3 jobs by the homeowner before we finished because of shoddy work and upcharging. The day I quit after 3 weeks, sheriff's deputies came to our hotel in Hudson About complaints from locals and Bill never showed up , he hid because he never stayed in the same hotels as he out his workers in. Then when the deputies finally left , we were called by Bill and told to pack fast because we were leaving the motel as soon as it got dark out . I told him then I was done and going home and I was told I would be paid for the week since I worked until Friday night and 3 times the money never came. Then he blocked my calls and they fled in the night to the New York area where he put on a local company DOT number and credentials . He runs so illegal. I had to change state license plates 2x , he was cited by wi DOT for no lettering or DOT numbers on this trucks and my very first day I was given the sign to pull into Hudson scale and he told us to just ignore and run it because we had got him earlier for violations but I went in the scale and of course written up for several violations on his equipment and registration. He had FLA1 name on his trucks but had checks for jobs written out to Bees Paving . I had most of the addresses to the customers I drove to for the 3 weeks in my personal GPS and I contacted the local law enforcement for those counties so they could investigate the complaints and I don't think he will be back in MN or Wi anytime soon. Ps. I have cell phone pics and the actual DOT tickets for the company to back up what I'm saying. The week after I quit, his crew leader of 2 yrs left too because his conscience told him what we were doing wasn't wrong. He called to let me know Bill had run off to New York in the night and changed name on the trucks again and I'm sorry for anyone Bill hurt .

We had TriStar pave our driveway in the beginning of June. On June 23rd I contacted them about the…read moreuneven lines left from the steam roller, low spots where water collects, rough areas that have boot prints, etc. and was told that they would come out to repair as soon as they had a crew in the area. In July I reached out again for another issue, trees and vines growing through the asphalt where it is laid very thin. I understand over time vegetation may grow, but less than 2 months? Once again I was told they would repair when in the area. In August I again reached out for yet more issues, the asphalt was laid with pine cones in it and now they are breaking up the asphalt and the area that was thinly laid has more plants coming through, pretty much in a straight line. This time the response was the same we will fix when in the area and that I should not be having these issues. Since, then I have found more areas where the asphalt had debris mixed in and it is staring to break up. It is now September and no one has tried setting up a time to fix, I feel as a paid customer, I shouldn't have to wait this long for a crew to be in the area to fix. I'm not sure if it is truly because there is not a crew in the area or if it is because I turned down the $2,300 sealing that they called me about the next day after paying almost $20,000 for the work. They left limbs broken and hanging even though I let them use my chainsaw, tools laying in the grass and clumps of asphalt in the yard that I had to pick up so I wouldn't hit while mowing.

DO NOT USE TRISTAR PAVING OR REECE PAVING!! Before summer, I signed a contract with Reece Paving to…read moreget my driveway paved. He bid on our driveway for $17,500 and we paid a $2,500 down payment. On the day of paving TriStar Paving shows up. They stated that Reece Paving had bid our driveway for 1000sq ft less than what it was supposed to be. So this increased our total by $7,500 which puts us at a total of $25,000. TriStar Paving owner, Louie, stated that the $2,500 down payment was not actually a down payment but is what Reece Paving kept for supplying TriStar the job. Reece Paving did not communicate this. The contract states a down payment. I was not subcontracting this out. So we get the paving done and I am NOT happy with it at all. There are two large spots that they had to patch and several "thin" places where it looks more like black gravel stuck together. Louie assured me that when we get it sealed, that would fix all of these spots. Louie stated they would seal my driveway for $1,600 and it would last three years. I stated I did not have that money now because I was not expecting to pay an extra $7,500 to get the job done. Louie stated that if I can pay $800 when they do the job, then I can pay the other $800 a month later. I agreed to this. The day the guys showed up to seal the driveway Louie texted me and stated that if I paid $1,000 that day they would call it even for all the prior trouble I had. After the driveway was sealed it looked like CRAP. It did not blend in the patched spots or fill in the thin areas. You can clearly see where they rolled in on, which looked good except for the spots they got on my concert. The rest of the driveway was sprayed on so thin you cannot even tell it has been sealed. There is a big line showing the difference between the rolled on and sprayed on. I reached out to Louie about the issues. He asked that I message him after Labor Day so they can schedule to come out and fix it. I have since messaged him 3 times with no reply. Before our paving job I did not research TriStar Paving because that is not who I hired. After these issues when I did my research, I would have never hired them for reviews with similar issues. I have recently reached out to Reece Paving because I feel a lot of this falls on his lap as well. I am currently waiting for a reply.
