This was my first time at this location, and it is such a cool space! The tri tip sandwich and fries were, of course, delicious as ever. They have a full bar, a butcher counter, a charcuterie counter, a coffee & pastry counter, a shop full of fun assorted items from art to clothing, and ample seating areas with curated vibes. It is truly a one stop shop for anything you could want. It was neat to see it full of folks hanging out in the various seating areas. I was still able to find a spot with ease which was conducive to taking a work video call. The only challenge I had was not eating my food in too ferocious of a manner mid call, and if you've had their tri tip, you know this was a true challenge. lol I look forward to the next time I'm driving through, so I can stop by again!

Today I decided to stop to see what it was all about. They make their cheeses here and you can see the machinery behind the glass near the cheese section of the gift shop. They also sell lots of nuts, dried fruits, candies and fudge. The gift shop is quite large and you are likely to find a gift for anyone you know here. The bathrooms were really clean and modern farm style in design. Right next to the gift shop is a restaurant that smells amazing. I ended up buying chocolate peanut butter cups as a gift. They were pricey but probably worth it.

The prices are somewhat higher than other local grocery stores, but SM is a very well apportioned store, clean and spacious, to shop in. I especially like a few things about Save Mart: the bakery, the deli, (but the wings are way too salty); the cook to order grill attached to the meat department; and now, even sushi created fresh daily. Product quality is always very high and appreciated. The things I don't like are: being charged for each small produce bag to put my veggie selections in, and the somewhat deceitful pricing practices - I.e. the buy one, get one free meat sales, and the necessity of e coupons for the best specials. I also don't care for the games. I know it is a successful marketing tool, but believe the dollars could be spent in other ways to lure in the public. All in all, I think Save Mart is a boon to our town, serving many people quite happily that other markets don't satisfy, and I am very glad they are here.

As she is in her 80s, the long distance trips are fewer and more far between, so the mere fact that this place is within close proximity of her home gives me peace of mind. You can find all of the basics here. Firewood, smokes, cold drinks, basic groceries, toiletries and other general merchandise - if you can think of it, the Country Store probably carries it. Service has always been friendly from what I can recall. There is always a smiling face behind the counter, and the staff are normally good for quick conversation. I've always been treated like family here. It's a nice feeling. The store is smack dab in the middle of a very small, rural town. You likely won't come across it unless you are intentionally in Squaw Valley. If you are here though, you can't go wrong.
