Over the course of our time together, Tammy helped me to shift the way I thought about food, promoting simple but effective steps to take after each phone call together. She listened to my concerns and prior frustrations from working with apps and coaches in the past and never once nudged any boundaries I set down. There was no such thing as a stupid question and Tammy made sure I had all the resources, answers, links, and videos I needed to be successful in forming better habits. I really appreciated that she worked with what was functional and accessible for me--on a budget, without a car, limited freezer space, etc. Instead of reminding me to scoop out my morning bagel like prior coaches have, Tammy asked each call what worked for me, what didn't, and what helped me to feel satisfied at each meal. Then we'd find one thing to improve--adding more color to each meal or adding a "sprinkle" like sunflower seeds or olive oil to help a meal reach its full nutritional potential. I also never felt like I was on my own in anything Tammy suggested I try. Gotta make my own broth this week to cook with? Here are great places to get bones, here is a recipe to do it, here are instructions for your instantpot, etc. Want to start incorporating more fish into my diet? Here are 3 brands for tinned fish, a local catch market for seasonal choices, and recipes. I was able to develop sustainable, long-lasting healthy habits by working with Tammy and I find myself continuing to grow with her guidance even though our sessions together are over. After absolutely refusing to put chia seeds in anything for our 15 weeks together, the other day I ate them willingly because I thought "Tammy said these are good for me and I haven't had them yet." This was the shift I was looking for and I'm so thankful for Tammy's warmth, knowledge, and support. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

Second, you have to download an app to communicate with her Third, be prepared to spend ALOT of time taking pictures of the food you eat Fourth, She is expensive ($1500!) . Has an air-tight policy for getting paid monthly. So don't even think about skipping or changing payment terms. (Please note that I am not saying businesses shouldn't be paid and have clear policies, but tere was something about the focus which was "unsettling" to me.) Fifth, A lot of her advice was also referenced in the book she wrotereplicated (which comes with the $1500 when you sign-up with her!). After I got the book and read it, I then wondered why was I paying $1,500 ? I think you have to sign a contract. SO BE THOUGHTFUL BEFORE SIGNING IT !!!!!! Overall I was uninspired and never warmed to her or the process. In the end, I recommend that anyone selecting this type of service be fully committed. And if any of the points I have raised, resonant with you - think whether the benefits outweigh the price tag for them. BTW: Her book is great. Hence the three stars as it encapulates a lot of solid information.

I joined out of curiosity, hoping to gain some clarity around my own energy levels. I absolutely gained that and MORE. Michelle is approachable, supportive, encouraging, and gifted at educating her clients. During the two-week session, each participant wears a CGM that gathers their personal data, and Michelle guides us through understanding what it all means. Watching my glucose levels respond to foods in real time is addictively fascinating, but having her explain why it's happening is what makes the experience truly beneficial. Michelle holds space with ease and compassion. She never labels anything as good or bad--even foods are simply described as nourishing or depleting--and she gently diffuses any self-criticism that arises, helping the whole group release judgement, and relax into curiosity instead. This group has definitely improved my relationship with food. I now understand so much more about which foods help me feel steady and which ones tend to spike and crash my energy--and deplete my pancreas. I'm more aware, and far more connected to how my body responds to foods and why. If you want to better understand your own energy patterns and understand how foods react in your body, this program is genuinely worth your time and money. It's budget-friendly, eye-opening, empowering, and honestly, worth repeating. Every round gives you new insights about your body, and those insights make a big difference!

Both times, I hesitated because of the cost -- I told myself I was already paying for insurance, so why pay out of pocket for something extra? That decision cost me more than money. I've been dealing with serious health issues since 2018, and I didn't see real progress in my treatment until I finally integrated Shanti into my care team. After a few years working with her, I'm in the best health I can remember in years -- and honestly, the turnaround still shocks me. Shanti has been the cornerstone connecting the dots across a complicated health picture: major weight and puffiness fluctuations, food reactions and allergies, MCAS/histamine issues, mold, migraines, headaches, and joint pain -- all while juggling multiple doctors and endless investigative work. She's been there on the days I could barely move or eat, in real pain and down, and she's helped me build a fuller care team rather than trying to be everything herself. She got me OFF the endless cycle of adding supplements and protocols, and taught me to simplify and actually listen to my body. She's patient, she remembers every detail of my history so I never feel like a number, and she adapts to what's realistic for me rather than forcing one rigid method or diet. We've also gone deeper than the physical -- into the inner work of trauma, stress, and old patterns -- and worked through how my health connects to my marriage, family, work, and travel. I'm so grateful for my work with Shanti. It has been life changing. I wouldn't be able to propel into my next steps in life without the rigor and resilience of our time together.

She meets you exactly where you are, tuning in to your personal needs while offering practical, meaningful guidance that leads to real change. What sets Shanti apart is her whole-body, natural approach. She's not someone who pushes a Western medicine fix for everything--she's incredibly attuned to the body's natural rhythms and honors the simplicity and wisdom of how we're built. She challenges me in the best ways, always pushing me toward actual growth while being emotionally supportive and truly caring along the way. And honestly--her approach works. I've been dealing with insulin resistance and hormonal shifts, and in just two months I've experienced a major, positive transformation in how I feel and how my body functions. I first worked with Shanti before my wedding and reached my goals, and came back to her when I decided to come off birth control. The results have been even more powerful the second time around. If you're ready to take real action and make sustainable, lifelong changes for your health, I can't recommend Shanti enough. She's the real deal

I've done different food cleanses and I knew it was time for another. A couple of things about how Marni does hers that were different from other experiences I've had and that I feel contribute to creating significant change. Marni has such simple and healthy recipes that you begin to realize how easy it can be to take control of your meals and what a difference it makes to stay home, cook dinner, light a candle (even if it's just you & yourself for dinner) and get to bed early. It's a whole routine of self care that encompasses much more than just your diet. She also has a great attitude that this is not about being perfect. It's about creating lasting change. "Progress not perfection" is what it's all about. She has a great support system so you always feel like you can do it. There's a gentle ramping up and transition time at the end. Her support system includes creating a morning routine, pampering yourself while you're on the cleanse and getting enough sleep and exercise. Basic things we all need to do and just don't make the time for. Thank you so much Marni for creating such a dependable program that we can all benefit from!

Last week I completed the 13 day Pura Vida Cleanse with Marnie and Becoming Health, and I am amazed…read moreat the awareness I gained about food and what it does for my body in that period of time. Everyone knows if they are a healthy eater or not, and most of us could eat a lot better. But actually doing that, knowing how to find what foods work for you and how to realistically incorporate those practices into your daily life is a whole other ball of wax. Marnie's method captures a wealth of nutrition knowledge and offers it to participants in a really welcoming way. One of my new year's resolutions was to become a more attentive cook. I have a staple of good dishes, but my connection to the food I eat is either a) something thrown together in 30 minutes with a casual eye toward its healthiness or b) from a menu. I know people hear the word cleanse and think its some weird spicy juice thing that celebrities drink for weeks to prepare for a movie role or the Oscars, but this is a whole food cleanse where you shop for, prepare and eat three meals a day. The experience is about replacing some of the toxic foods we eat far too often with healthier things, just to see what happens. Maybe your skin clears up or you realized those sinus issues are actually related to dairy consumption (both were true for me) For me, the cleanse helped me reset my desire for bigger portions and showed me I can actually function quite well on less food. I also have greatly expanded my staple dishes with healthy smoothies, salads and whole grain dishes. The 8 pounds I lost and the fact that my skin is clearer and brighter than its probably ever been are happy side effects. Marnie is also an incredibly genuine person. From our first meeting I got that she is guided by a desire to help people live healthier and happier lives. The support she offers during the cleanse and after is testament to that.

Despite everything, Nico kept me grounded, positive, and focused. Workouts, macros, water, protein, protein, PROTEIN! This session had a tighter timeline -- I was prepping for a very special family event -- so the approach was more of a sprint compared to the gradual builds we've done in past sessions. The tools and mindset he's given me go beyond any single goal because at the end of the day, this is a lifestyle. It's been 8 weeks since I stated at Nu Fitness, but it's long enough to give Nick, his trainers and…read morethe facility a positive review. I spent a few days looking for a personal trainer close to work. After some searches on the Internet and Yelp reviews, I started reading reviews about Nu Fitness and Nick. After some positive reviews, I filled out the form and emailed him. I noted my fitness journey to this point in life and briefly explained what I wanted to accomplish going forward. I found myself in a terrible routine, work 12 hours, then heading to the local breweries for a few beers and dinner. Needless to say this didn't bode well for my wellbeing. Looking back over the years, I had gained control of health in my mid-30s, where I lost 40+ pound, gained strength and started running. Running led me to a period in my life that saw me conquer a few 50-mile races. An achievement I never thought I would attempt, hell I never thought I would run 5 miles. Life changed. Priorities changed and slowly I saw everything I had worked hard for slowly slip away. Now age 55, life wasn't getting any easier. I knew I was not very active. I also knew that my daily routine was not one for success. I decided I needed to help make a change in my life, but more importantly to make that change permanent. Previously I joined 24 Hour Fitness (never again) but found too many excuses NOT to go. Sound familiar? Searching Yelp for personal trainers, I ran down a local list in the Oakland/Alameda area. Reading profiles and reviews, checking website, I ran across a trainer, Nick Baltazar. It felt right. I emailed Nick with my story and filled out the form on the Nu Fitness website. It wasn't even a day and I had a response from Nick and we were talking about my fitness journey, where I had been and what I wanted to achieve. He was willing to work with my schedule to get three days of training. After a day of communication with Nick, he connected me with Wyatt. I met Wyatt at Nu Fitness, located at 2345 Broadway, parking in The Hive. Yes, they have easy parking and validation while you are at your session. This makes getting in and out quick and easy. I was highly impressed with the facility, the way Nick had spoke about it, I knew I would be. The work out areas were clean and profession, a small reception area, all Rogue power racks and weights, with room for everyone to work on their fitness goals. Wyatt Berreman, my personal trainer worked with me, after provided basic information from Nick on what I wanted to accomplish. He created a plan specifically for me, tracking my journey, weights and reps for each session. It's been just about 2 months, but its been reestablishing a workout routine. I have a sense of accomplishment, even through I don't see it in the mirror...yet. It will happen. Wyatt has been a wealth of knowledge and has helped create a plan for me to gain strength, balance and flexibility. But also work within my limitations due to previous surgeries on my knee and shoulder. I am very impressed with Nu Fitness, Nick, Wyatt and what they have to offer in the way of personal training. I would highly recommend giving Nick a chance to show you want they can do to help create a fitness plan for your to achieve your goals.
