Over the course of our time together, Tammy helped me to shift the way I thought about food, promoting simple but effective steps to take after each phone call together. She listened to my concerns and prior frustrations from working with apps and coaches in the past and never once nudged any boundaries I set down. There was no such thing as a stupid question and Tammy made sure I had all the resources, answers, links, and videos I needed to be successful in forming better habits. I really appreciated that she worked with what was functional and accessible for me--on a budget, without a car, limited freezer space, etc. Instead of reminding me to scoop out my morning bagel like prior coaches have, Tammy asked each call what worked for me, what didn't, and what helped me to feel satisfied at each meal. Then we'd find one thing to improve--adding more color to each meal or adding a "sprinkle" like sunflower seeds or olive oil to help a meal reach its full nutritional potential. I also never felt like I was on my own in anything Tammy suggested I try. Gotta make my own broth this week to cook with? Here are great places to get bones, here is a recipe to do it, here are instructions for your instantpot, etc. Want to start incorporating more fish into my diet? Here are 3 brands for tinned fish, a local catch market for seasonal choices, and recipes. I was able to develop sustainable, long-lasting healthy habits by working with Tammy and I find myself continuing to grow with her guidance even though our sessions together are over. After absolutely refusing to put chia seeds in anything for our 15 weeks together, the other day I ate them willingly because I thought "Tammy said these are good for me and I haven't had them yet." This was the shift I was looking for and I'm so thankful for Tammy's warmth, knowledge, and support. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

Second, you have to download an app to communicate with her Third, be prepared to spend ALOT of time taking pictures of the food you eat Fourth, She is expensive ($1500!) . Has an air-tight policy for getting paid monthly. So don't even think about skipping or changing payment terms. (Please note that I am not saying businesses shouldn't be paid and have clear policies, but tere was something about the focus which was "unsettling" to me.) Fifth, A lot of her advice was also referenced in the book she wrotereplicated (which comes with the $1500 when you sign-up with her!). After I got the book and read it, I then wondered why was I paying $1,500 ? I think you have to sign a contract. SO BE THOUGHTFUL BEFORE SIGNING IT !!!!!! Overall I was uninspired and never warmed to her or the process. In the end, I recommend that anyone selecting this type of service be fully committed. And if any of the points I have raised, resonant with you - think whether the benefits outweigh the price tag for them. BTW: Her book is great. Hence the three stars as it encapulates a lot of solid information.

I was gaining weight and it was getting our of control!! A wounded healer myself, I needed to work with someone who was strong, confident, and confidential. I was looking for someone who could meet me where I was at and pull me forward. Mahagony provided that. After helping me with creating an eating plan, (which worked,) I was diagnosed with diabetes in early March. At the same time my therapist of 3 years became so ill she had to close her practice. I was on the edge, and would not admit to anyone, even my doctor that I was diagnosed with diabetes, and my blood pressure was going up. I totally ignored the calls to get signed into a diabetes clinic. I never said or thought the words, "I'm diabetic." I told Mahagony I needed to get my sugar down, and that was it! By the end of May, I had brought my blood sugar down from 120 to 69! And giving up the sugar was easy! Mahogany helped me get on a new meal plan, and mostly it was our conversations during our nutrition sessions, (which I booked weekly), that really worked. And yes, exercise. I didn't go to her classes and she helped keep me accountable to walking 3-6 miles a day, which also helped me loose weight. I am grateful!! I'd recommend her to anyone who wants to eat well and live better!

Marni has such simple and healthy recipes that you begin to realize how easy it can be to take control of your meals and what a difference it makes to stay home, cook dinner, light a candle (even if it's just you & yourself for dinner) and get to bed early. It's a whole routine of self care that encompasses much more than just your diet. She also has a great attitude that this is not about being perfect. It's about creating lasting change. I enrolled in the self-paced program after doing my research and seeing overwhelmingly positive reviews. In hindsight, not meeting anyone on video beforehand and relying solely on text communication was a mistake on my part. After taking the initial quiz, I guessed my body type and was assigned a coach who shared that same type. I followed the program precisely for six weeks and saw no results after the first week. Only then did I learn I'd been placed in the wrong program for the wrong body type. I was reassigned to one of the founders, who reviewed my case and matched my correct type. Another 2-3 weeks went by with zero progress, even after overhauling my routines yet again. I even paid extra for their Tier 2 service, with no changes or signs of improvement. I did everything that was asked of me: 15,000 steps a day, consistent powerlifting, hydration, structure, and discipline, yet nothing changed. Instead, my lack of progress was attributed to mindset, quantum physics, and somatic blocks. I'm trained in trauma-informed care and have spent years doing deep somatic and therapeutic work. I fully understand the mind-body connection. But when a program cannot deliver results, shifting the responsibility back onto the client feels dismissive and unfair. Ultimately, it felt like the blame was placed on me when my coach no longer knew how to support my case which is exactly why I hired them in the first place. While I appreciate receiving a $750 refund for the Tier 2 upgrade, I am still left having spent $1,500 on a self-paced program that did not work for me. This is simply my experience. Be thoughtful, do your research, and I truly hope your results are better than mine.

I did all of this all while traveling the world. That peace of mind, confidence, and increased self love I now have for myself is freaking invaluable. And I credit all of that to me working with Green Door Life. I lost fat, gained muscle, toned and built my overall body, and even lost cellulite- I didn't even know that was freaking possible, since I've worked to lose my cellulite for the last 15 years!! And, I did all of this while traveling through 8 different countries and living nomadically full time. I've completed the 12 week nutrition group program and some 1:1 coaching, I'm not trying to overstate this in anyway - it has literally changed my life. This isn't a quick fix or some fad, their courses and coaching is revolutionary to your whole life moving forward. The coaching around food and nutrition is expansive not restrictive. They give you the fundamental deep knowledge and psychological support needed in order to make any situation, any country, and basically any restaurant or food navigable for your goals. What I love about their coaching style is they make you self sufficient and empowered. There is no ongoing sales cycle and unlike other coaching programs, they don't make you feel you need them to keep your gains. I have a completely different and loving relationship to my body, the way I view and eat food is informed and fun, and my daily behaviors and internal throughs are so different and aligned for who I am becoming more of each day, and who I want to be, than how I was when I started the program. I highly recommend working with Green Door Life through their different courses and coaching. I am going to do their upcoming Awaken your Cycles and Strength courses as well, because the amount of value and life changing outcomes I get from them and their courses is literally worth 10x the amount they are priced.

I wanted to work with a nutritionist for several reasons: breaking through my weight loss plateau,…read moremake better decisions on what I ate and when, and general education on what the heck macro and micro nutrients are and in what balance I should be targeting for each meal (amongst many other things). After a telephone screening of 4 different nutritionists in the East Bay, Tamar and I clicked right off the bat. She has such a warm and understanding disposition, with vast nutritional knowledge and a strong professionalism that makes you feel you're in the right hands. I mean, she can get down onto the nutritional science level if you want to go there with her! During our first in-person meeting in the clinic, we started by establishing my goals, started on the plan to reach those goals, went through my medical, exercise, and nutritional histories, and she took all my measurements as a baseline. Our second in-person meeting was a field trip to Berkeley Bowl, where she walked me through the nutrition labels on the backs of different food products, pointing out the things I should be looking for when I shop for food. Subsequent in-person meetings included continued measurements, a full customized eating plan, a ton more nutritional education (including her philosophy on supplements), and support as we progressed through my goals. Perhaps one of the most beneficial aspects of the program is the continued support on our weekly phone calls (between in-person meetings). We met once a week to review my successes and areas of improvement from the previous week. For example, she provided me with a phone app to track my food consumption, and using that app, she provided guidance on things I could have done better, such as better balancing of fats vs. proteins, or an increase in a certain micronutrient in a particular meal. This phone app, I must say, was a very important tool for me. The weekly calls also included accountability and psychological support when I ran into mental challenges, for example, I had a major chocolate splurge one day, and we talked through what led up to that and how to prevent and recover from it in the future. Ok, I'll wrap this up by saying that I got everything I wanted out of Tamar's program and much more, and my results speak for themselves. I lost 20 lbs and 10% body fat following Tamar's guidance, and perhaps even more importantly, I have built the framework, knowledge base, support systems, and confidence to continue my journey in weight loss and health through nutrition. If you're considering hiring a nutritionist to help you with your goals, I highly recommend Tamar at Triholistic Nutrition - she was wonderful!!

I'm…read moresomeone who likes to handle my health issues through lifestyle management rather than meds whenever I can, so I was excited to meet with Tamar and start designing a plan to eradicate my symptoms and restore my digestive health. I was impressed with Tamar's services from the start because they are very hands on and designed to help evaluate, diagnose and treat. Right off the bat, Tamar had me track my daily diet on an app so she could get an understanding of my eating habits. The app was easy to use once I familiarized myself with it and it has almost every food on the planet in it's library (brand names included) so that I could accurately track exactly what I was eating and drinking each day. Tamar set up weekly calls to review the food and drink that I had tracked over the week and evaluated the results with me over the phone. For one of the in-person meetings, she walked me through Berkeley Bowl, educating me on the foods that were healthy and responsible vs. those that were not. She also offers blood and stool testing to help analyze what is happening in your gut. Depending on the results, there are supplements she will suggest to help repair anything that is out of whack. She will review your results and any supplement regimens with you extremely thoroughly so that you feel clear and comfortable before moving forward. Based on test results, she also creates a recipe book for you that will make it easy and straightforward to incorporate healthy and compatible foods into your diet. Although I originally came to Tamar to help alleviate digestive issues that I was experiencing, what I got was a whole lot more. Tamar provided me with foundational knowledge on nutrition that I will be able to carry with me for the rest of my life. While I've been working with her, I've been a lot more aware of the decisions that I make about my diet, as well as what I choose to consume and why. I think twice about what I pick up at the grocery store, where I choose to eat out and what I choose to order. This process has taught me that it isn't that hard to exercise discipline when it comes to what I put in my body and that if you commit to it long enough to see results, that you begin to take pride in your diet. In the past, I've always been someone who did just enough to alleviate any unsavory symptoms I was experiencing until they went away and then I would return back to bad habits. Throughout this process, I've learned that what I put in my body has a huge impact on how I feel and feeling good feels good. I'd like to keep feeling good, so I think I will heed the lessons I've learned from my time with Tamar and not slip back into bad habits again. Hopefully.
